Wrapping it up... 35

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, December 23, 2012 @ 2:00 AM | , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great weekend! I have a few photos to share from Jerry's graduation ceremony on Friday. I won't babble on but I must say, I'm so proud of him :)

I spent some time today finishing up several gift card boxes that I have been working on. I pulled out my Cricut Expressions machine and made a few boxes using the Bags, Tags, Boxes and More cartridge along with patterned paper from the Pink Paislee City Sidewalks collection. The boxes measure 4 1/2" W x 4" H x 1/2" D, perfect size to house gift cards :)
This year, I didn't shop for my son's sweet GF April, we bought her gift cards to several of her favorite stores so she can shop for herself. I'm so proud of her because she wanted to lose weight, she put the effort into it and has successfully lost over 20 lbs. So we thought she would have more fun shopping for herself :) The tag on this gift box was made using Die-namics Tag You're It and Stamp Set. I stamped the tag image using MFT Wild Cherry ink, adhered an embellishment on that was made using a die from Die-namics Dizzy Doily DUO along with a fan fold decoration that was made using Die-namics 1/4" Rosette then finished it with a Wild Cherry button and a hemp bow.
The inside features a gift card pocket using the Die-namics Gift Card Pocket - Horizontal die then stamped a sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments using Wild Cherry ink.
The next gift box features an embellishment made using the following combination of MFT products: Die-namics Snowflake Doily, Die-namics Decorative Doily DUODie-namics 1/4" Rosette, Sno Cone button and hemp.
This gift box also contains a pocket that was made using the Die-namics Gift Card Pocket - Horizontal die then stamped a sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments using Wild Cherry ink.
The next gift box features an embellishment made using the following combination of MFT products: Die-namics Jumbo Snowflake, Die-namics Open Scallop Doily DUODie-namics 1/4" RosetteSno Cone button and hemp:
The inside contains a gift pocket made using Die-namics Gift Card Pocket - Vertical that was stamped with a sentiment from LJD Stitched Stockings
And last but not least is a gift box for Jerry featuring an embellishment made using the following combination of MFT products: Die-namics Decorative Circle STAX, Die-namics Dainty Doily DUODie-namics 1/4" Rosette, a Wild Cherry button and a hemp bow:

Let It Snow with Pink Paislee 41

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, December 18, 2012 @ 11:53 PM | , , , , ,

***I have two posts today, if you are looking for my MFTWSC103 post, please click HERE :) Thank You***

Welcome to Day 19 of the Countdown to Christmas event! Hope you are enjoying all the amazing Christmas inspiration from the Pink Paislee DT thus far! Sadly all good things must come to an end. This will be my last assignment as a Pink Paislee DT Member. Thank you so much Rebecca for the wonderful opportunity to design for your amazing company!
Today I have a mixed media Christmas holiday home decor project to share featuring pretty patterned paper from the City Sidewalks Collection along with City Sidewalks SnowFlakes Chipboard. To create this project, I first adhered pretty City Sidewalks Story Time to the wooden wall hanging then randomly applied heidi swapp Tropicana Teal and Tinsel Color shine along with Gesso. I made a die cut cardstock banner using Die-namics Fishtail Banner which showcases shimmery metallic Portfolio - Alphabet Stickers that add a wonderful sparkle to the project :)
The center snowflake embellishment was made using Sizzix Tim Holtz Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die / Snowflake Rosette to die cut a piece of City Sidewalks Special Delivery. Once the the die cut snowflake embellishment was made, I layered a few City Sidewalks SnowFlakes Chipboard then topped it off with a crystal brad.
On each side of the main snowflake embellishment are more layered snowflakes made using Sizzix Tim Holtz - Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Mini Paper Rosettes along with more beautiful Sidewalks SnowFlakes Chipboard.
Thanks so much for visiting! Be sure to visit the Pink Paislee blog as there are lots of prizes to be had!
Wishing you all a joyous holiday season!

Christmas Tags... 39

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, December 16, 2012 @ 12:58 AM | , , , , , ,

Hello! Hope you are all having a great weekend! It's been raining cats and dogs here in Phoenix. Although the desert is in much need of rain, I personally still prefer blue sunny skies and so do my little four legged furry friends who don't care to get their paws wet!

I had some time to get crafty last night so I made a few gift tags that will come in handy as I am putting the finishing touches on a few gifts :) I combined fun patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Citysidewalks collection with various Die-namics dies and MFT stamps.
I stamped the smaller die cut tag that was made using Die-namics Traditional Tags STAX with the "To" and "From" sentiments from MFT Christmas Ornaments then attached to the main tag using MFT Hemp Cord and a MFT Kraft button.
Both tags are very similar with the exception of the patterned paper and the die cut doily that is layered behind the chipboard Christmas tree.
For the tree embellishment, I started with a "naked" chipboard Christmas tree, painted it with gesso, spritzed with heidi swapp Chartreuse Color shine then finished it with a layer of  glitter.
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the deconstructed Sketch challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Pink Paislee Day 10 Countdown to Christmas 29

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, December 9, 2012 @ 9:59 PM | , , , , ,

**I have two posts today, if you are looking for my MFT December Day 6 Teasers, please click HERE. Thank You **

Welcome to Day 10 of the Pink Paislee Countdown to Christmas event!
Today it's my turn to share a project on the Pink Paislee blog in celebration of the Countdown to Christmas event. I have a Christmas holiday home decor project to share featuring lots of goodies from the City Sidewalks Collection along with die cut embellishments made using beautiful patterned paper from the City Sidewalks Collection.
I love layering embellishments and the City Sidewalks Parcel Tags, City Sidewalks Ephemera, and City Sidewalks Parcel Tags makes this so easy to do so! I layered each panel with a combination of items from the previous mentioned packs. For example, shown in the panel below is a mixture of patterned paper from the City Sidewalks Collage Sheets, a tag from City Sidewalks Parcel Tags, a piece of ephemera (number 25) from City Sidewalks Ephemera and a few embellishments made using beautiful City Sidewalks Collection patterned papers.
I also enjoy creating coordinating die cut embellishments for my projects adding a bit of dimension. Shown below is a die cut Poinsettia that was made using City Sidewalks Santas patterned paper and a few die cut rolled roses made using City Sidewalks City Shoppers patterned paper.
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to visit the Pink Paislee blog!
Wishing you all a Happy Holiday Season!
Be Sweet ;)

'Tis the Season...CR84FN68 Week 2 56

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, December 1, 2012 @ 11:55 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are all having a great weekend! I'm here to share a project I made for week 2 of the CR84FN68 Color Challenge using the pretty colors shown below. Thanks to all those who have played so far, many beautiful projects. You still have time to join along in the fun in fact, we have extended the CR84FN68 Color Challenge by one week ending on Wednesday, December 12th and there is a prize to be had by one lucky participante!
I altered a paper mache star shaped box using MFT stamps, Die-namics dies and patterned paper from the Pink Paislee City Sidewalks Collection.
I inked up and colored the gorgeous Vintage Santa image from Inspired By Christmas, cut using a die from Die-namics Circle STAX 1 then layered a Paver Red doily die cut that was made using Die-namics Decorative Doily. This project features quite a few homemade flower embellishments using the following Die-namics: PoinsettiaLayered Rose, Mini Royal Roses, Royal Rose, and MINI Rolled Roses. I think I may have gotten a little excited and went wild with the glitter! :) LOL
I stamped the sentiment on a die cut that was made using Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon Die
I can't get enough of the beautiful Poinseettas
In case you were wondering how I created this project, please feel free to look at the tutorial I created:
