You're a Stitch 41

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, July 13, 2011 @ 8:03 AM | , ,

Hi there! Can't believe how fast time is flying by, here we are already midweek! I'm all caught up on DT requirements and I have the day off from work so I thought I would make a card just for fun :)
I recently purchased some new stamps and coordinating dies from My Favorite Things and they have just been sitting in my crafty space waiting to kiss an ink pad! I pulled out some pretty patterned paper from The Girl's Paperie which you may or may not know is no longer in business. Margie the Owner/Designer disolved that business and opened up a brand spankin' new one called Authentique. Which of course has just as beautiful products! Anyways, I thought the paper was so pretty and would look great pieced together like a patch work quilt fitting the sewing theme of my card. What do you think?
Thanks for visiting! Hope you enjoy your day and remember to Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: My Favorite Things Sew Nifty
Die Templates and Machine: Spellbinders™Labels Fourteen, My Favorite Things

Happy 2nd Birthday Waltzingmouse Stamps! 42

Mona Pendleton | Friday, May 20, 2011 @ 9:00 PM | , ,

Hi there! Hope you all are having a great weekend! Here today to wish Claire, Owner of Waltzingmouse Stamps, a Happy 2nd Birthday in honor and celebration of her awesome stamp company! If you have visited me before, you may have noticed how much I LOVE Claire's designs! I was a customer of Waltzingmouse Stamps prior to becoming a Design Team member so you can imagine how excited, thrilled and honored I was when Claire first asked me to join her DT over a year ago! If you have a free moment and would like to leave Claire some birthday love, please feel free to visit her blog click HERE.  I am sure Claire would be tickled pink to hear from you! :)

Claire has unfortunately experienced some shipping issues recently. Being located in Ireland, it takes a bit longer than what many of us stampers want to wait, but believe me the stamps are worth the wait! It made me sad to read some downright rude and mean comments on Claire's blog regarding this matter. Claire can work magic with her designs but I really don't think she has control over Ireland's Royal Mail? Waltzingmouse Stamps are unique, timeless designs that are not going to lose their luster so to say and I am SURE you will agree they are worth the wait :)
To create the lil' die cut cupcake, I stamped the reverse polka dot image and a plaid image from Gingham & Co. then using a Sizzix die template to cut the cupcake shape then adhered glitter to the top to give it a shimmery sugary appearance. Once I had the cupcake made, I adhered it to a beautiful label made by stamping an image from Very Vintage Labels No. 1 that was cut/embossed using a Spellbinders™ Labels One die template that coordinates perfectly! To make the tag, I stamped the birthday wishes sentiment from Asian Gardens then used a Mega Classic Scalloped Ovals LG die template to cut/emboss the image.
Thanks so much for visiting today :) Hope you enjoy the rest of your day! I will be back tomorrow with a new CR84FN Color Challenge. Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels No. 1, Gingham & Co., Asian Gardens
Die Templates & Machine: Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Labels One, Mega Classic Scalloped Ovals LG, Grand Calibur, Sizzix cupcake

Thank You...WMSC46 36

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, May 7, 2011 @ 1:00 AM | , ,

Hi there! So are you lovin' the stamps from last week's Waltzingmouse Release? Claire's unique designs always leave me in awe. Both Dainty Doilies Large and Dainty Doilies 2 Small are rapidly making their way to the top of my go to list. Not only are they beautiful designs but several of them coordinate with Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles LG. BONUS! In case you missed my little ah ha moment ~ I am tickled pink to share with you that I had a card combining both Waltzingmouse Stamps and Melissa Frances DP featured on the Melissa Frances blog. I would be thrilled if you took a peek, click HERE :)

Since it is Saturday, that means it is time for another awesome Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge:
Using this week's sketch, I made a CAS Thank You card for my sweet sister Tina who so kindly took care of my 2 little four legged furry friends ~ Gretchen and Griffin ~ while I was out of town last week.

I inked up a doily image from both Dainty Doilies Large and Dainty Doilies 2 Small.
The larger doily in the left upper corner is from Dainty Doilies Large and was cut/embossed using a Big Scalloped Circles LG die template. The smaller doily in the right lower corner is from Dainty Doilies 2 Small and was cut/embossed using a Classic Scalloped Circles LG die template.

I made the sentiment ribbon piece by cutting a ribbon accent die template from Nested Pennants, stamped the pennant outline from Bitty Banners, then stamped the Thank You image from Rescue Remedies Additions.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! That is all I have to share today, so I hope you have enjoyed what I made and maybe feel inspired to play along! Please be sure to stop by the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site for some amazing inspiration from the Mischief Makers and several other Waltzingmouse DT members :) I'll be back tomorrow with an all new CR84FN challenge ~ hope to see you then! Be Sweet :)

Something Exciting to Share... 105

Hi there! I have some VERY exciting news that I have been wanting to share and now the day has arrived when I can spill the beans! If you have visited me in the past, you already know how much I LOVE creating with JustRite Stampers. Well Kellie Fortin at JustRite has invited me to join her and the uber talented JustRite Design Team!!! YAHOOOO!!! That means, today is my FIRST official day as a JustRite Design Team Member!!! Can you hear the shrieks of excitement coming from my rooftop? :)

Before I get to today's card, I would like to tell you that JustRite is currently having a May Sale ~ 20% off on all nested sentiment and nested frame sets. You can read HERE for COMPLETE details. Also, consumers receive free shipping on all U.S. orders over $200.00 and International shipping rates have been lowered significantly.

Welcome to Day 1 of 6 of the JustRite Stampers May previews. Today, we are introducing a beautiful new JustRite Original set called Butterfly Garden.
I stamped one of the ornate borders from Butterfly Garden using Memento Tuxedo Black ink then using two Standard Circles LG die templates, one on the outer perimeter and one on the inner to cut/emboss the image to create a frame. Using a Copic Y08 Acid Yellow marker, I colored the solid perimeter then added some glitter for a nice shimmer. After creating the lovely frame, I adhered it on top of the sweet sentiment from Butterfly Garden which was then adhered to a scalloped circle.
Here is a look at the complete Butterfly Garden set:

May WMS Previews Day #2 63

Mona Pendleton | Friday, April 29, 2011 @ 12:00 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Welcome to May Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews Day #2! Claire will be releasing FIVE new stamp sets on Sunday, May 1st & for the next 3 days, Claire, the Waltzingmouse DT & myself will be sharing some awesome samples of inspiration showcasing these amazing stamps!  Today, we are all focusing on the NEW Join Us stamp set.

First up, I made a Thank You card:
I created a label using a single motif image from the Join Us set. First, I cut/embossed a label using a Labels Four die template, then I stamped the THANK YOU sentiment followed with a beautiful motif image above and below the sentiment. I inked up a gingham image from Gingham & Co. to create a piece of patterned paper.
Next, I made a dinner date invite by combining a few sentiments from Join Us:
I didn't count the number of images in the Join Us set but let me tell you there is a BUNCH that can be so easily mixed and matched making the possibilities endless! Such a versatile set! I showcased the sentiment on a Very Vintage Labels No. 10 label that coordinates perfectly with a Spellbinders™ Labels Ten die template.
That wraps it up for today. Thanks for looking! For some awesome inspiration, please be sure to see what Claire and the rest of the Waltzingmouse DT have created:

Bosom Buddies...SSD73 48

Mona Pendleton | Monday, April 18, 2011 @ 9:00 PM | , , ,

Happy Tuesday! Hope you are having a great week so far :) Here today to share a card I made for this week's Skipping Stones Design sketch challenge. You may recall, I am Guest Designing for Skipping Stones Design for the month of April :) All are encouraged to join along in the fun!

Here's my interpretation:
I stamped a pretty lacy bra image from Skipping Stones Design Bras Volume #1 then sponged a slight border adding a bit of color while creating a soft frame. Both sentiments are from the same stamp set which is full of so many fun images! As much as I hate to admit it, I purchased this set waaaay back in October 2010 when Heather, Owner of Skipping Stones Design was graciously hosting a fund raiser for Breast Cancer Awareness. Check out this awesome sketch:
I think the lacy detail in the bra is oh so beautiful! Not only would the images from this stamp set be perfect for any special woman in your life but for that special man as well ;)
Thanks so much for looking! Please stop by the Skipping Stones Design blog for COMPLETE details on how to join in the fun and for some awesome inspiration please visit all the designers blogs:

Bold and Bright 57

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, April 7, 2011 @ 7:10 PM | , , ,

T.G.I. almost F.! :) I'm ready for the weekend, how about you? Do you have anything fun going on? I'm looking forward to seeing a funny movie with my hubby and step children ~ Who can't use a good belly laugh? :)

I made this Bold and Bright card for no other reason other than to thank all of you who are so kind to take the time to not only visit my blog but leave such sweet and encouraging comments. I realize that you have thousands upon thousands of blogs to visit so I am so grateful and thankful you choose to visit little ole' me :) I am very proud to say that I have never asked or required anyone to join along on my personal blog.
I challenged myself to use the bold and bright patterned paper from The Girl's Paperie. I stamped a label from Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels No. 18 then using a combination of Labels 18 and Classic Ovals SM die templates to create a frame to frame the THANK YOU Kindly sentiment from Waltzingmouse Fancy Phrases. The little motif is from Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels No. 4.

I hope Claire treats us all to an ENTIRE set of her beautiful motifs, both big and small. It's on my loooong wish list for Claire so maybe one day. Until then, I will just keep lovin' the ones I have :)
As a small way to Thank You for supporting me on my papercrafting journey, I have a little give away. I wish I could afford to give something to all of you but I can't :( I would love to share the packages of flowers shown in the photo below with ONE of you. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I will use Random.org to select ONE lucky commenter. I will announce the winner here on my blog on Sunday, April 10th. Winner will have 48 hours to contact me by email at mlpendleton@cox.net.
Good Luck ~ Thanks so much for visiting! Be Sweet :)

Welcome to Day #4 of the April Waltzingmouse Stamp Of Approval Parade! No doubt they will all provide you with tons of inspiration!

There is a lot of festivities going on at Waltzingmouse Stamps that you won't want to miss, so please be sure to visit Claire's blog (click HERE) for COMPLETE details!!!

Today, we are all sharing projects made using Spring Baskets.
Spring Baskets is a set jam packed with so many interchangeable images and sentiments. The creative possibilities are endless! I am willing to bet, not one sample made by the entire DT will be the same!

First up, is a sweet basket that I stamped, colored using a combination of Copics listed below, then paperpieced the basket. The flower trio image was stamped, colored and 3 buttons sewn in place.
Close up, you are able to see these darling little flowers were popped up so the leaves would fall over the edge of the basket:
Using the same layout, just changing up the patterned paper, flowers and sentiment:
This card features a basket full of Daffodils. I popped the basket up using 3D foam squares and attached a little bow and button. The basket full of Daffodils is layered on top of a pretty doily made using a Heart Circles die template which was then layered on top of a label made using a Labels One die template and a piece of PTI Fine Linen cs that was ever so graciously given to me by my sweet friend Stephanie :)
Below, are the Copic markers I used to color the various flowers and baskets:
That's all I have to share today ~ I'll be back tomorrow to share some exciting news :) Thanks so much for looking and to see more amazing inspiration, please be sure to visit Claire and the rest of the Waltzingmouse DT members listed below:

Helping a "Friend of Mine"... 55

Mona Pendleton | Monday, March 21, 2011 @ 8:00 AM | , , ,

Hi there! I am here today to celebrate the Grand Opening of The Craft's Meow online store owned by my sweet friend, Lisa Hjulberg. Many of you may be familiar with Lisa as she was formerly  the Mouse Keeper/DT Coordinator of Waltzingmouse Stamps who has now opened her own online papercrafting store. Claire, Owner of Waltzingmouse Stamps has designed a few EXCLUSIVE stamps for The Craft's Meow. In addition to carrying all your favorite papercrafting products, Lisa will specialize in selling custom card making kits that will include these exclusive stamps. ***The Craft's Meow online store is scheduled to open at 12:00 NOON PST today March 21st***
I created a card featuring both the gorgeous butterfly image and sweet "Friend of mine" sentiment that coordinate with Crate Paper's Portrait Collection which I currently do not have so, I used some lovely paper from the girl's paperie & K&Company instead.

I stamped the butterfly image using VersaMark ink then embossed with fine white embossing powder. Love the incredible detailed butterfly!
Love the beautiful font of the "Friend of mine"sentiment:
That's all I have for today. Thanks so much for looking :) Please feel free to visit The Craft's Meow store blog to read about all the new and exciting events happening and where you will find a list of the other friend's of The Craft's Meow who will also be sharing projects today.
