Hello Pumpkin!

I created this card for 3 different challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges - use orange, olive green, yellow & brown colors.
Our Creative Corner Challenge - wonderful windows.
ODBD Shining Light Challenge - lacing. I might get gonged on this one...not sure if lacing baker's twine through a 4-holed button is what they had in mind, but I'm going with that for now! :-) I loved coloring this new ODBD pumpkin image, then used their coordinating die to cut it out! The square of rustic cream CS behind the postage stamp Nestie frame is covered with overlapping tulle leaves that were cut using Tim Holtz' tattered leaves die. I used brown and light green tulle which gives a very subtle texture to the BG. The finished card is 5 1/4" square.

STAMPS: Pumpkin by ODBD, Sentiment Flags by Lil' Inker Designs, Happy Fall (sentiment) by Verve.
PAPER: Simply Autumn by Recollections, Rustic Cream by PTI.
INK: Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES: Pumpkin die (ODBD), Postage Stamps Nesties, Button, Chocolate baker's twine, Copics.

CASING Penny

The featured stamper on SCS is Penny (aka pawallen142) and she's got a wonderful gallery! I chose this card to CASE...changing the image, the DP and adding a sentiment. I liked the clean lines she used and really liked the layout! I stamped multiple images from SU's new Button Buddies set when our stamp club last met. I was on the fence about buying this set, so thought I'd "try" it out first! I'm also entering this into Our Creative Corner's Challenge to use fruit on a card.
Here's what I used:
STAMPS: Button Buddies (SU), Say it Loud (Waltzingmouse Stamps)
PAPER: Odds & Ends by Cosmo Cricket, Black, White
ACCESSORIES: Vintage buttons by PTI.

Red, White & Blue

This is a weekend of recognizing & celebrating our country's independence, so a number of challenges are promoting this theme. My card is for the following challenges:
Card Patterns Sketch
Our Creative Corner - use either 4th of July or Christmas in July theme.
Friday Mashup - use red, white & blue OR use a patriotic theme OR mash it up and use both.
I used direct to paper technique and applied red and brilliant blue ink to the stamp, then stamped on rustic cream CS. I ran it through the Big Shot using a stars EF. A very quick and simple card!
STAMPS: Grunge Cirque by Tim Holtz
PAPER: Yankee Doodles by We R Memory Keepers, Rustic Cream (PTI)
INK: Real Red, Brilliant Blue
ACCESSORIES: Ribbon, Star button, Stars EF by Sizzix.

Special Anniversary

May 30th will be a special anniversary for an aunt & uncle - 65 years together! Their children have organized a card shower, so this is for them...a very special couple! I used Karen Giron's layout for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and am entering this into Our Creative Corner's challenge to frame it. The frame was silver embossed using an image from Gina K. Designs Lovely Labels set. It was cut using a Labels Four Nestie and then a center oval was cut as a window for the sentiment stamped in Blue Bayou. DP is from the Julianne pad by K&Co & mini rolled roses (Die-namics from MFT) are from Baja Breeze CS. Leaves were punched using SU's 2 step bird punch. Some Baja Breeze seam binding (SU), lace, bling & a silver button finish off this card.

Tea Time

Just a friendly reminder to check out the inspiration photo and play along with the FYI team - DETAILS ARE HERE!

This is my second post for today...just had to whip up a quick tea cup card using this template on SCS. I used colors for the CR84FN challenge - light pink, black & cream, plus this is for Our Creative Corner's challenge to create a card with a tea party theme. I layered 2 different punched borders in vintage cream along the top - Martha Stewart's Doily Lace and SU's scallop border. I scored 2 lines along the bottom of the cup. Another punched border in black (Martha Stewart's Floral Band) with pink pearls and some major bling on the DP finished up this cup of tea...well the tag actually was the finishing touch. :-) The sentiment is from Verve's Sweet Treats set. When I went to link this card to the CR84FN web site, I discovered I was the randomly picked winner of a stamp set from last week's challenge! Woohoo! It's always fun to be a winner!

3 Challenges in 1

Sun is out and birds are singing...thought I'd convey this day through this card which qualifies for 3 challenges:
MFTWSC - sketch
Color Throwdown - Orange, Soft Sky, Kraft
Our Creative Corner - girl power (feminine & girly and must include handmade paper flower, ribbon & bling).
DP is from the new Mabel papers in the Stella & Rose collection by MME. The image was colored with Copics and the dress was paper-pieced. A row of zig zag stitching, seam binding bow and a trio of rolled roses with pearls finish this off. I love the delicate look of the lacey border created with a MFT die! Hope you're enjoying your day...I'm heading out to work shortly.
STAMPS: You're So Tweet (MFT) - PI girl & sentiment; Out on a Limb (MFT) - PI tree.

OCCC

Our Creative Corner's challenge this week is to make an ATC (2.5 x 3.5 size) using kraft, white or cream, black or chocolate plus one other color. I made mine in a tag format, starting with some Flora & Fauna Ledger paper from K&Co. I don't have kraft ink (note to self: order at next SU club meeting), so subbed Creamy Caramel to stamp the flourish BG. The edges were distressed using a tool then sponged with Memento Rich Cocoa. The bliss sentiment was also stamped in cocoa ink. The punched butterfly was sprayed with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels and chocolate pearls added to the body.
STAMPS: Bliss (SU)
ACCESSORIES: Decorative scissor to trim tag corners (SU), Corner chomper, Spiral punch (SU), MS butterfly punch, Kaiser chocolate pearls, Glimmer Mist, Sponge, Distressing tool, Simply Chartreuse satin ribbon (PTI)

Seeing Spots

This card is for 2 challenges:
Ways to Use It - use polka dots
Our Creative Corner - sketch (This is when I know I should have gone to bed...I used OCC's sketch and forgot that distressing was part of the challenge!). So I get an F for this card!
This was another quick and easy card...some scrap DP (? source) from my scrap pile...a doily tag by MS layered over a black circle Nestie, a prima, some leftover leaves from a previous project and a bit of bling.
STAMPS: Accent Notes (Verve)

Lovely Lotus

It's a Saturday and I'm off work...that's a big YAY! The biggest down side of my job as a nurse is having to work every other weekend. I really treasure those when I'm off! This card had a rough beginning! I had to give the first go around the ax, but after a redo of the flower and the butterfly, it was acceptable - lol! This is for 2 different challenges:
Our Creative Corner - cut it out.
Inkspirations - sketch.
The stamp set was a bargain find at TJ Maxx as I was in the checkout line...an acrylic stamp set by K&Co for only $2.00! I colored the lotus with Copics (RV00, RV02, YG03, YG06, YG93), cut it out and popped it with dimensionals. Diamond Stickles were added to the center. The butterfly is a sticker by K&Co. I'm going to check out what's happening in Daytona next...should be interesting to see the new changes in Nascar this year.
STAMPS: Lotus Floral Stamps
PAPER: Gossamer DP by Memory Box, Neenah Solar White
INK: Memento Rich Cocoa
ACCESSORIES: Ribbon (Flourishes), Button, Baker's twine, Crochet trim, Diamond Stickles, Copic sketch markers, Oval Nesties

Branching Out

Using the layout for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, I also made this for 2 different CAS challenges: SCS CAS Challenge is to use peach parfait, poppy parade, daffodil delight & white. Our Creative Corner Challenge is to use a tree image in CAS style. I stamped the Plain Jane tree image from Verve on 3 different pieces of DP from the Citronella pad by K&Co. It's hard to see, but the paper has lemon slices on one, orange slices on the other and I'm calling the red one my cherry tree - lol! I always like this sentiment for retirement or going away parties and this would work for a masculine card as well.
STAMPS: Verve (tree), Inkadinkadoo (sentiment)
INK: Versafine Onyx Black

Analogous Heart

Love the curvy line in this Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge...a perfect layout to use some new Verve that came in the mail today! The heart is one of Julee's new A Cut Above dies that coordinates with her stamps. I sponged the edges in Blue Bayou ink, added faux stitching using a Tombow marker, stamped the Soft Swirl BG stamp and colored in the green hearts with a Copic marker. Oh...and added some tiny pearls and a prima. A quick CAS card which is also for Our Creative Corner's Challenge to use analogous colors (3 adjacent colors on the color wheel - I used 2 shades of blue and green).
STAMPS: Smallest Things Plain Jane by Verve, Soft Swirls BG by SU
PAPER: Two Scoops (BasicGrey), Blue Bayou (tiny strip above lace), Whisper White
INK: Blue Bayou, Versafine Onyx Black
ACCESSORIES: Verve heart die, Prima, Adhesive pearls, Tombow & Copic markers, Lace

Just Because

This shabby chic card is for 3 challenges:
The Shabby Tea Room - white & bright (use white &/or cream w/one other color)
Our Creative Corner - Let's Play Dress Up (take the basic sketch and dress it up in any way)
ODBD Shining Light Challenge - Wing It (include anything with wings on the card)
Since TSTR's sponsor was Webster's Pages, I just had to start with some of their gorgeous DP. This prima was the perfect shade, so had to add it to the Nestie layers. A die cut tag was cut from River Rock CS and the edges were sponged with Antique Linen distress ink. The sentiment is from Verve's new Sweet Treats set. We were also given a picture for inspiration & the crystal & shiny silver berries were translated as needing some serious bling on my card - lol! The circle Nesties imitate the dinner plate shape. Thanks for stopping by...I always appreciate your comments!

SFYTT & OCCC

Challenges:
Sketch For You To Try - pick any previous sketch
Our Creative Corner - color challenge (rose red, regal rose, tempting turquoise, kraft, vanilla)
Because I colored with Copics, I cheated and went with white instead of vanilla CS. Here's hoping the challenge police will not come after me! I just got some new goodies in the mail today from MFT and had to try the rolled rose die and the new birthday image. I added Liquid Pearls to the icing on the cake and yellow stickles to the candles. We got a light dusting of snow this afternoon and the temperature hasn't gotten out of the 30's. Br-r-r! Waiting on pizza and then we'll watch the ACC championship game between Va Tech and Florida State. GO HOKIES!
STAMPS: A la modes - Time to Celebrate (MFT), Sentiment Flags (Lil Inker Designs)
PAPER: Urban Prairie (BasicGrey), Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, Neenah Solar White
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black

Tag, You're It!

I love to create tags and this is a simple one that meets the following challenges:
SCS CAS95 - Flower Accents
Our Creative Corner Challenge - Tag, you're it!
Crazy 4 Challenges - use script paper or script EF
Paper Cutz Challenge - Anything Goes
The tag base is DP from Memory Box's Mistletoe pack...the work is basically done for me! I added a punched holly border, cut the top corners using a decorative SU scissors, & embellished with a Verve poinsettia image that was stamped twice and layered. A last minute 'to' and 'from' with names and another package will be tagged.
STAMPS: Blessed Christmas (Verve)
PAPER: Mistletoe (Memory Box), Garden Green
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink
ACCESSORIES: MS Holly border punch, Corner chomper, Decorative scissors, Fibers, Copics, Rhinestone

Corner Bookmark

Thanks to Marisa for inspiring me with all her lovely corner bookmarks...I'm finally getting around to making one of my own. I have some practicing to do before I can get to her level of gorgeousness! :-) This qualifies for Our Creative Corner's challenge to make a holiday 3-D project (I'm thinking ahead of using these bookmarks for co-workers when we celebrate Week of the Nurse in May). This is also for The Shabby Tea Room Challenge to be inspired by this cupcake picture, plus we are to share something we are thankful for. In this time of ongoing unemployment for so many Americans, I'm thankful I have my job as a rehabilitation nurse! I have such wonderful co-workers and it's so rewarding to be able to help persons with disabilities!
STAMPS: Angel of Mercy by Stampendous
PAPER: Distressed Dots DP (PTI) - green; Old Olive; Sugar Rush DP (BasicGrey) - orange dotted border
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES: Copics, MS Doily Lace border punch, CB, Labels Fourteen, Lace

Mosaic of Them All

I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for the layout and tweaked it a bit, so I could use this fabulous sentiment. I had to sneak in an extra panel for it, so hope the challenge police won't come after me! Our Creative Corner has a color challenge this week: rust, blue, gold, brown. I created a BG of leaves using a new set from Verve. For the circle element, I glued cut out leaves to a small circle and added a metal leaf embellishment.
STAMPS: Autumn Splendor (Verve)
PAPER: Manchester DP (SU), Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Vintage Cream
INK: Memento Rich Cocoa, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Cajun Craze
ACCESSORIES: CB, Square Lattice EF (SU), Tim Holtz leaf embellishment
