Ubisoft announced today that it has opened a new studio in Quebec City, Canada and intends to invest $75 million and plans to create 200 jobs inside of five years.

Ubisoft is currently planning to create 75 jobs in Quebec city by the end of 2005 in the new studio located in the Saint-Roch district at 390, Charest East.
"We are in Quebec City for its talent and its dynamic nature. Our objective is to build a studio where creativity and technological know how will come together to create world class games,'' said Martin Tremblay, president and chief operating officer of Ubisoft Canada.

Tremblay also announced the appointment of Nicolas Rioux as vice president and general manager of the Quebec City Studio. "Nicolas is an experienced video game development manager, known for his vision and leadership. I'm confident that he'll quickly make our Quebec City studio an international leader, able to take on the most ambitious projects."

Our new studio will pursue this same successful approach. Starting right away, we'll work on innovative projects based on strong licenses, using the latest technologies."
Ubisoft was founded in 1997 in Montreal, where it currently has 1100 employees. On February 1, 2005, Ubisoft announced its intention to invest $700 million over five years, creating 1000 new jobs in Quebec by 2010.
