Dog Kennel Day of Quilting with Lori Holt

It's been a while and I can't tell you how much I have missed all of you my friends! I haven't been ignoring you just trying to catch up on some quilting and getting ready for the annual "Dog Kennel Quilt Extravaganza" that was yesterday. I have so much to share!

I will begin first by taking you to the
 "Dog Kennel Day of Quilting".
Lori Holt and Amy Smart were our teachers this year and they were awesome! Amy was teaching a "Quilt as You Go" table runner which I am sad to say that I was not able to take because we only had time for one class.
Lori was teaching us her "Count Your Blessings"
using her method of applique which is so great.
Here she is instructing us on how to position
and trace our pattern onto tracing paper
for use as our layout.
She takes time to show us how to do it just right
and makes it look so easy!
Amber from a little bit biased joined us
and seemed to catch right on.
She also brought these sinful brownies! Yum!
Here is Aniva getting after it.
Way to go girl!
Kelly and her friend...
Susan also joined us for the day.
Nice to meet them both!
Of course here are some of the Kennel girls...
Jill and Sue...
and our sweet president of the Kennel Girls...
Lynda.
This is Helen and she is the all famous gal that quilts
all of Lori's beautiful quilts and most all of mine as well.
She is FABULOUS!
Kaylene is also another great longarm quilter
that joined us for the day.
Then there is my dear friend Judi
who came to learn Lori's wonderful tricks...
and my sweet friend Susann along with her
darling sister Kristy
who seemed to be moving right along.
Believe it or not...
I even parked myself long enough to give
it a try and decided that I now love applique.

Not only did we learn to applique...
but we were graced by Lori
sharing a few of her FABULOUS quilts.
Look at the incredible detail!
I love every square inch of her quilts!
This one is one of my favorites.
After a day of quilting with Lori...
we can now say we are counting our blessings...
especially of having her as our wonderful friend!
Thanks Lori... You are the best!
