November Link Party - # 45

Hello crafty friends! It's time for another link party here on the Cropstop blog. Today I'm sharing an autumn window card I created with a floral embellishment. For a mini tutorial on creating the sunflower visit this post from several weeks ago. (This card uses one each of the two smallest sizes.)

To create the background I scored a piece of kraft cardstock every 3/4 of an inch and swiped my walnut stain distress oxide across it. I die cut and distressed the window using the same ink. I also sponged all of the leaves with coordinating colors to add more depth and interest to them.

Supplies and Tools:

Now it’s your turn to share the projects you’ve been working on! As always our link party is "Anything Goes" with these few simple rules
  1. Create ANY new project using a product or two from one of the companies CropStop carries in the store. (It’s ok if you didn’t buy it from us, and also fine if it’s a product we don’t currently have it in stock as long as it’s from one of the companies we carry!)
  2. Please, no back-linking old projects
  3. Limit 5 entries per challenge
  4. Link your project here, link back to this post, and mention the CropStop Challenge in your post.
We’ll choose one random Winner who will receive a prize from the CropStop Store! (100 or more links = two winners and two prizes!) Thanks so much for linking up with us, we look forward to seeing all your great entries this month. Grab our badge and help us spread the word that CropStop is a great place to play along!

Optional Twist for November:
Create a project that includes fall leaves and I'll enter your name twice in the random draw.

September Link Party - #43

I realize that fall officially begins the end of this month, but I'm not quite ready to let go of my summer yet. So....today I'm sharing one last summer card before I start into sunflowers, pumpkins, falling leaves, and all things autumn!  Here's a fun little summer scene I created with dies and layered on an embossed (and sanded) doily.

Supplies used on this card:

Challenge #6: Pure and Simple

This week's challenge is to use only white (or off-white).  I understand that if you are going to be stamping you might need something more for us to see the images, so we are going to allow you either brown OR black Values for stamping and/or coloring, but the majority of the card should be white to qualify for the challenge this week.

You will need to complete and link your project using the Linky Tool at the bottom of this post by February 16th at 11:59 pm EST in the U.S. CropStop will randomly choose one prize winner and the Creative Team will choose their favorite projects to receive our "Cream of the Crop" badge to display in your blog and signature!

Now let's enjoy the samples from the CropStop's Creative Team, and remember starting next week you will get to enjoy the wonderful projects from our new Creative Team Members.

Remember: Every Thursday at 8:00 AM (EST) we will post a new challenge. You will have one week to link up your project and be counted for the prize draw and Cream of the Crop blinkie! For all the rules, see the link in the sidebar. (If, for some reason, Linky Tools is not working, place your project link in the Comment section.)

Challenge #52: Back to basics

This week we are going back to basics... basic and simple shapes. I want to see rectangles, circles, hearts, triangles... nothing too fancy in terms of shapes. So take out those nesties, boss kut, sizzix, cuttlebug die cuts or your cricut and have fun cutting out some simple shapes.

No scalloping, no pinking edges on the shapes, just simple ol' straight finishes on those shapes.

To be eligible for our monthly prize you must upload your project (layout, card, ATC, whatever you wish) to our Gallery under the Weekly Challenge, ALSO make sure you put CHALLENGE #52 in the title. We would love if you place a link to our challenge thread HERE.

Challenge # 45 - Use your neglected items

Welcome to Challenge #45! Use your neglected items... but I am talking specific items. Crop Stop is known for all the awesome die cuts and now punches and HJ is so sweet she even help us cricut fans! I am challenging this week, to go grab: 1. A die cut, punch or cricut cartridge that you haven't used yet. Or that you haven't used in some time. If you can try to do all 3 (a die cut, a punch and a cricut... that would be a real challenge)

Here is my sample:  You have till Wednesday to post your entry in our Gallery.

Challenge #43 Take it out of the jewelry

From time to time I do some beading. I like to make jewelry but there's a limit to how much a girl can use... So I have tons of these unfinished projects, and also a lot of beads to use. Pieces of broken jewelry can be found in my drawers - I intended to repair them, but... So why not use them as embellishments?

This week I challenge you to use parts of broken jewelry, that odd earring or something you made especially for your project using beads and/or jewelry parts. As long as it has beads or jewelry parts, it's OK!

Join Elisabeth and her samples at the Crop Stop's Message board and see the complete LO.

Challenge #40 - Monochromatic Masterpiece

Your challenge for this week (May 28th - June 5) is to make a monochromatic "masterpiece." Monochromatic means...one color - so your card/page layout/project must have only one color. However, I think we can safely say, one color, plus a neutral (white, black, tan, cream, etc.).

Here is Gloria's gorgeous sample! Remember to share your sample w/ us on the CropStop Gallery to be considered for a drawing on a prize!
