THE DAYS OF THE DANDY

It has been a while since I went out treasure hunting, but this week I was able to find a real treasure - a vintage tie - all the way from California.

The lovely bookmarks are from the back room of an old paper shop in Sweden and are from the 1940s.  The beautiful book (Yoga Erotica) that I'm reading which is more yoga than erotica was given to me by my book-agent. If you know some Swedish and want to find out more then drop by the authors' own website.

IT'S A GIRL

You are looking at my new baby. She might not look like much with dented sides and missing lens cover but she works like a pistol. She is a little bit worse for wear, but that would be true for anyone who has lived the last 10 years in a box hidden in an attic closet.

I have named her Berta.

FIESTA

I haven't uploaded any of my project for a while. I promise I haven't stopped crocheting because I have finished the book. I took some inspiration from one of my grandmothers old potholders. I think it will become a bath mat but seeing it on the table it would work as a tablecloth. I  just have to make it a teeny bit bigger.

Found the cup and saucer at a flea market. They are apparently dime a dozen over hear in the UK, mass produced by Barker Bros in the 60s up to the 80s, but I love the midcentury print.

SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES

We went to the cottage on the 23rd of Dec. My mother picked up this incense holder shaped as a whale in the local bakery on Christmas eve. I think me and my sisters have picked up the charity shop/flea market bug from her. We were struggling forever to put the little incense cone flat, so it wouldn't role around inside the whale's mouth, but finally my sister managed.

THEY DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THIS ANYMORE

I was wearing one of my grandfathers old nightshirts when I was visiting my family. Why have they fallen out of fashion with men? They totally rock.

ALLT I HEMMET

Found a stach of the interior decorating magazine Allt i Hemmet from the 1960s in the attic when rummaging to find the xmas decorations.

PIC 2: Awesome idea to use weed as xmas decoration.
PIC 3: I want that kitchen including the crocheted multicolored potholders.
PIC 4-5: I can't resist having a burger now and again. Now I have learnt 16 different way of preparing one. The pineapple burger is my favorite.

SHOE KITTENS

Following on from the candle kittens. In the UK they don't melt their kittens, as seen earlier in this blog entry, they shove them down their shoes. These scented kittens fits perfectly in my otherwise smelly shoes. Ah, how many way there are to torture a kitten.
