Gatherings Winter White Issue is here!

yay, the new Gatherings White Winter issue is here!

it's packed with ideas, beautiful photography and wonderful how-to's to get you totally ready for the Holidays. this year's theme is Scandinavia. some of you may remember my brother lives in Sweden and we used to visit often before we left for Canada. of course I was totally excited when Heather announced Scandinavia was going to be the theme for this issue! Northern Europe is dear to my heart and I can't wait to visit again in a few weeks.

my contribution is all about decorating with foam balls. easy, quick and great effect. find your digital and printed issue here and indulge in 'the best issue yet'. the printed version is a perfect Christmas gift too, just saying…

and for my dear Dutch readers:
het heerlijke avondje is gekomen! een hele fijne Sinterklaasavond gewenst

Double the Yarn, Double the Fun

an out take of my contribution to the latest Gatherings Magazine; a little cloth, potholder, doll blanket or what your imagination sees in it, made from yarn scraps. I knitted this piece with double strands and I must say I love how fast it comes together and the endless possibilities in color variety it gives us.

if you are planning to make something similar yourself, keep in mind that you want to use about double the needle size too. I have been experimenting with crocheting double strands as well and am quite pleased with the results, will show them to you soon. have you tried working with double strands on your hook or needles lately? if not, my suggestion is you grab a cup of your favorite tea or coffee together with your yarn scraps, a decent sized hook or needles and give it a go. I would love to hear about your experience!

Gatherings : 2013 Spring Issue

thrilled I am, to tell you Gatherings : the 2013 Spring Issue is out. Heather, the lady behind this beautiful online magazine, says it is the best issue yet and I have to agree with her. among many others, there are beautiful images and craft projects by Annetta, Spring trends for your home as well as personal style by Trisha, an interview with Holly Becker from Decor8, a colorful shop feature from the Corner Store in Australia, and for the moms: a feature on celebrating motherhood with creative play by Erin from Rare & Beautiful Treasures with breathtaking pictures...

so hop over to the magazine and enjoy gathering your Spring fever!

on a side note I am proud to tell you I was invited to contribute to this issue as well, and I share with you some quick and easy Spring craft projects; some knitting or crocheting, fun with washi tape and may be a little happy sewing. on top of that I am pretty excited Heather gave me the opportunity to become craft editor of Gatherings, so you'll probably see more regular contributions from me in her wonderful Gatherings Magazines from now on.
