Happy Thanksgiving ...

This week is a celebration of gratitude and family, and as my brothers and sister arrive for the holiday, I'm filled with thankfulness and blessings! Wishing you and yours the Happiest Thanksgiving full of laughter, love and yummy food and always be thankful for what you have, for there are many others who are less fortunate! ~ Enjoy!

I've created my scenic sunset using Buttercup, Raw Sienna, Pumpkin, Burnt Clay, Rustic Red, Burgundy and Coal in that order with a wet paintbrush. My poppies are die cut from black cardstock and a sentiment and bow finishes the card.

Each 1st Monday we will now be sharing 4 Creative Inspiration Paint Colors of the Month and those colors will be on sale for the entire month at 33% off of the original price! For this month the colors for the Fall Season are Burnt Clay, Pumpkin, Raw Sienna and Rustic Red!

Fall Bliss ...

November in New York is when the leaves are almost all gone and we are settling in for a long winter. Soon, the leaves on the ground will be covered in snow, and all the beautiful colors of autumn will be a memory. Fall is my favorite season with the balmy weather, bright colors and time of harvest! I've created this card with these thoughts in mind! ~Enjoy~!

My leaves are from Spellbinders® Fall Foliage dies, and are cut from ivory cardstock, then painted with various mixtures of paints including: Burnt Clay, Pumpkin, Raw Sienna, Rustic Red, Emerald, Green Olive and Sunshine. Once dry, I used the cracked glass technique, then rubbed it with green ink to highlight the cracks. I layered them on an embossed background, attached a twine bow, tiny twigs and a fall sentiment to finish the card.

Have a blessed and creative day! ~ Darsie

Autumn is Here

Hello Creative Inspirations Paint friends! Emily here today with a piece of a project that I am currently in the process of working on. I wanted to share this piece with you because it IS complete, (this will go on a much larger canvas with other elements) and is full of the CIP Colors of the Month.

The colors this month are:

The colors were such a great representation of autumn colors that you see this time of year in nature, that I had to use them on my Autumn tree....

As I stated earlier, I plan on putting this tree on a larger canvas. The canvas will have a tree for every season. I wanted the tree to have a face, to symbolize Mother Nature. I am in the process of working on my other trees.

The tree is a page from the Tree Album by Genuinely Jane Studios. I covered the upper portion of the tree with Modeling Paste, placed my clay face in the center, and once it dried, covered it all with Distress Stain in Rusty Hinge. As the Modeling Paste was drying, I colored some Sticky Back canvas in Raw Sienna, Pumpkin, Rustic Red and Burnt Clay

(You can see that wonderful CIP shimmer on her face and on the leaves... the colors for this month look awesome when mixed together and layered on one another. They literally look like leaves on the trees this time of year that have turned those lovely, rich autumn colors we all love!)

I cut the canvas into leaf shapes and adhered them on the tree around the face. It looks a bit like the sun. Before I finished adding the leaves to the lower portion, I used some Chocolate CI Paint mixed with some crackle medium on the trunk, and up into the leaves a bit.

To finish off the piece, I used the four Colors of the Month paints around the remaining parts of the leafy parts of my tree so that they all would blend together with the leaves. It needed to flow a little more than it was.

Alone the tree is pretty, but I know it will look much better once it is with it's fellow seasons. :)

Don't forget that the four Paints of the Month are 33% off the entire month! That's some great savings on top of already fantastic prices!!

Enjoy your day!

Signs of Fall

Hello, my creative friends! Julie here today from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers. The signs of Fall are everywhere -- cooler temperatures, falling leaves, geese flying over.  The inspiration for this card happened on the last motorcycle ride of the season (always a sad affair, putting the Harley away for the winter).  A male pheasant strutted across the road, forcing us to slow almost to a stop.  At the time, I was trying to think of an idea for my husband's birthday card.  Aha! I thought to myself, "he LOVES pheasants!"  I was also inspired by the beauty of the turning leaves on that ride.  So, I combined the two themes into one card:

The hardest part of the card was finding a pheasant stamp. I found this one -- it's a digi.  I colored the stamped image with Copic Markers, then fussy cut it.  The leaves are also stamped.  After stamping them, I colored the images with various Creative Inspirations Paints, then fussy cut them.  The green leaf was stamped with Olive ink, then painted with Green Olive CIP.  The red leaf was stamped with Barn Red ink, then painted with CIP Rustic Red (on sale!!!). The orange leaf was stamped with Terracotta ink, then painted with CIP Raw Sienna (on sale!!).
I just love the shimmer and shine in this paint!
You've spent enough time admiring my pheasant, go get some of that Creative Inspirations Paint that's on sale! There's 4 colors of the month, all at a whopping 33% off.  If you haven't tried these paints, there's no better time.  I PROMISE you won't be disappointed!
Make sure to visit the blog again tomorrow (and everyday) for more inspiration.  And, don't forget to enter our current challenge, "Inspired by: Thanksgiving".

Inspired By: Happy Halloween - Halloween ATC

Hi CIP fans! Dana here today sharing an ATC. I used some of my favorite "scary" stamps on a piece of cream colored cardstock. I applied Raw Sienna, Tan, Evergreen and Rose Quartz CI paint to my stamp block, spritzed it with water and then pressed the color onto my stamped image for a subtle watercolor-like finish that really sparkles.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hi CIP fans and followers!  I just had to stamp this sweet Leprechaun for St. Patrick's Day, and to follow along with the current Go Green challenge!  I had fun with Creative Inspirations Paint, and added a bit of paper piecing.  I've used quite a few shimmery paints from the Creative Inspirations Paint store, along with the Deliquesce Metallic Copper embossing powder for the sentiment.  The paint colors used are: Copper (all along the scalloped edge), Carmel and Raw Sienna (stockings), Emerald and Evergreen (Shamrocks and jacket accents), Green Olive (hat sash), Gold (coins and buckles), and Sunshine (star shape in coins).
Here is a closer look at the CIP products that I've used:

Inspired By: Favorite Stamp - Bonjour Card

Hi CIP fans!  Dana here today sharing a card in keeping with the Favorite Stamp challenge theme this week. The formula of CI paints makes adding color to small areas a breeze. Each square image on my card measures less than one-inch.

As always, the color, coverage and shimmer of CI paints is fabulous!

I took my color palette for this card directly from the top of the stamp: Garnet, Rustic Red, Rose Quartz, Autumn Wheat, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Sage, Lavender and Antique Silver.  The range of colors offered by Creative Inspirations is wonderful and I easily selected my paints for this project, no mixing required!

I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with the challenge this week at Creative Inspirations Paint! You do not need to use CI paints on your projects, but if you have them, we would love to see how you used them. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Painted Chevrons

Hi CIP fans!  Dana here today sharing a layout. I had fun playing with a neutral palette for this page, but I also wanted to add some fun pops of color.  I cut out several chevron shapes from my background paper and then backed the empty spaces with painted pieces of cardstock in some of my favorite colors; Burt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Burnt Clay and Chocolate.

I love that I'm able to add color and a fabulous shimmer in one step with Creative Inspirations Paints. With 55 vivid colors to choose from, it is easy to pick paint colors to match or accent paper collections.

If you haven't tried this paint and would like a chance to win some for yourself, join in on any one of the weekly challenges each month.  You don't need to use Creative Inspirations paints to play along, but if you do, you double your chances of winning! This week's challenge is:
Inspired By: Turkey Turkey
we want to see all those projects with either a Turkey on them or anything that is Thanksgiving related...
Here's some inspiration:
I made a fun Thanksgiving gift tag...
Lots of texture and dimension mixed with CI Paints...makes for a great project!!
Here is a close-up of the Turkey that I colored with my copics but added some CI Paint in
Gold, Raw Sienna, Coal and Burgundy.
He sure does shimmer :)
I also colored my ribbon with chocolate using 3 Girl Jam Antique White crinkle ribbon.
The mix of the paint on the ribbon and the antique white color makes the paint darker and lighter in certain spots. Not sure you can see it well in the picture but trust me..it looks awesome!!

I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with this weeks challenge!!
Remember you do not need to use CI Paints on your projects but if you have them we would LOVE to see how you used them!!
As always thanks for stopping by and
have a great week!

Fall Layout with Painted Flowers

Hi CIP fans!  Dana here today and I'm so excited to share my first project for Creative Inspirations Paint!  I wanted to create some fall flower clusters for my layout.  I didn't have flowers to match this specific color palette, so I started with white flowers and some Creative Inspirations Paint.  I'm thrilled with my custom painted flowers!

I also painted the fence, which began as natural wood, with Chocolate.  I love the subtle shimmer!

Painting flowers and embellishments to match patterned papers is easy and fun with the fabulous range of CI paints.  With several shades of each color, adding depth and highlights is a breeze.

I used Sunshine, Canary and Mellow Yellow to color this flower.  I started by coloring the center of the flower with Sunshine.  I then colored the majority of each petal with Canary.  I finished this bloom with random highlights of Mellow Yellow along the tips of the flower petals.

I used Raw Sienna, Gold and Autumn Wheat to color this flower.  I applied Raw Sienna to the petals, leaving the tips white.  I added Gold to create a darker flower center.  I then added Autumn Wheat to several of the petal tips to finish.

I used Burnt Clay, Copper, Burnt Sienna and Mango to color these flowers, working out from the center from darkest to lightest paint color.  Once the flowers were dry, I used a dry brush and some Winter Frost to add white highlights to the petals for a more shabby feel.

I used Emerald, Sage, Green Olive and Mint to color these flowers, working out from the center from the lightest to darkest paint color.  I used Emerald to lightly color the edges of the flower petals.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  If you would like a chance to win some of this fabulous paint, join in on any one of the weekly challenges each month.  You don't need to use Creative Inspirations paints to play along, but if you do, you double your chances of winning!
