Happy Thanksgiving ...

This week is a celebration of gratitude and family, and as my brothers and sister arrive for the holiday, I'm filled with thankfulness and blessings! Wishing you and yours the Happiest Thanksgiving full of laughter, love and yummy food and always be thankful for what you have, for there are many others who are less fortunate! ~ Enjoy!

I've created my scenic sunset using Buttercup, Raw Sienna, Pumpkin, Burnt Clay, Rustic Red, Burgundy and Coal in that order with a wet paintbrush. My poppies are die cut from black cardstock and a sentiment and bow finishes the card.

Each 1st Monday we will now be sharing 4 Creative Inspiration Paint Colors of the Month and those colors will be on sale for the entire month at 33% off of the original price! For this month the colors for the Fall Season are Burnt Clay, Pumpkin, Raw Sienna and Rustic Red!
I've used these colors on my card:

Thankful for You!

I love the colors of Autumn with leaves and chrysanthemums in reds, yellows, greens and oranges. Today I have created a fall floral card that would be a perfect hostess gift at Thanksgiving or for any occasion where you are feeling most thankful.

I love to make flowers and CI paints have amazing color and shimmer to bring the petals to life. For my mum, I started by cutting 15 of the Blooms Two die from Spellbinders® with ivory paper. I painted the back side of each flower with Burgundy, then turned it over and painted the front with Burnt Clay.

With a dry embossing tool and foam mat, I shaped the petals into a cup and then touched the tips with Buttercup paint. I glued one flower on top of the other, and continued in that manner until I got the fullness I wanted for my larger mum. With leftover flowers, I created two smaller mums.

As a background for my mum, I cut various leaves from the Fall Foliage die set out of olive green cardstock, and painted them with Evergreen. I added a touch of Buttercup and Burnt Clay to the edges to show the changing of the leaves.

Have a blessed and creative day! ~ Darsie

Sparkling Coasters

Coasters are something in my home that are always needed. We try to not place our drinks directly on certain tables without coasters under them. Today I wanted to share a coaster I made using some Creative Inspirations Paint as well as some CI Embossing powder.  After seeing how well these turned out, I definitely plan on making more.

I painted a wood block with Burgundy paint from the center of the wood to the outside edge. I used Antique Copper along the outside edge of the wood. The two colors look so great blended together.

After the paints had dried I stamped the heart using Versamark and then used Deliquesce Metallic Copper embossing powder over it for this great metallic look. I used some gear stamps in the corners when I was finished. The only thing I have left to do to finish this coaster is to seal it. We can then start to use it.

Above is a close up of the embossing powder... I love the way it shines!! It really looks great with this stamp.

Below are the colors of paint and embossing powder used from Creative Inspirations Paint in my project today.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you've found inspiration in my project today and can see how you can make something as simple as a piece of wood into a wonderful piece of usable home decor. :)

This week's challenge is:
Inspired By: Turkey Turkey
we want to see all those projects with either a Turkey on them or anything that is Thanksgiving related...
Here's some inspiration:
I made a fun Thanksgiving gift tag...
Lots of texture and dimension mixed with CI Paints...makes for a great project!!
Here is a close-up of the Turkey that I colored with my copics but added some CI Paint in
Gold, Raw Sienna, Coal and Burgundy.
He sure does shimmer :)
I also colored my ribbon with chocolate using 3 Girl Jam Antique White crinkle ribbon.
The mix of the paint on the ribbon and the antique white color makes the paint darker and lighter in certain spots. Not sure you can see it well in the picture but trust me..it looks awesome!!

I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with this weeks challenge!!
Remember you do not need to use CI Paints on your projects but if you have them we would LOVE to see how you used them!!
As always thanks for stopping by and
have a great week!

Tag for my Mom

Hi All! Carla here today... a bit later than usual! But suspence is a good thing right?!

I wanted to share a tag I made for my Mom who recently celebrated her 60th birthday! Where does the time go? Crazy! She, like me, loves shiny pretty things, so I think this is right up "our" alleys.

This started out as a regular old shipping tag. I painted the whole thing with Ivory CI Paint and added the lace and seam binding to it. Then I stamped my little tag, edged it with Beige and colored in the roses with Emerald, Rose Quartz and Burgundy paints. I also used the Beige on some metal letters I had after first giving them a quick coat of white alcohol ink as a base.

Here is a close up so you can see the detail on the flowers, they are kind of hard to see on the photo above.

Last step was adding a few small embellishments and voila! A pretty tag to brighten any birthday package!

Home Is Where the Heart Is

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you will be spending the day with those that you love! I really haven't gotten tired of making Valentine's cards this year, but I guess this will be my last one for awhile.
Link
I have so much fun building up layers on my projects - and this one started out with the bingo card from Simple Stories. I wanted to use the Unity stamp in my center, but needed a pop of color to help it stand out. I used a Tattered Angels embossed chipboard frame and painted it lightly with Creative Inspirations Paint in Autumn Wheat. Then I added just a tiny bit of Burgundy paint on a paper towel, and lightly rubbed over the frame. This really brought out the embossed design quite nicely.

The heart on the stamp has a polka-dot design, so I decided to add a tiny pearl over each of the dots to finish it up.
