Best Witches!

Happy Halloween, crafty friends!  Julie here from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers. I'm picking up an extra post today. It is pure pleasure to have an opportunity to work with these paints a little more.  And what day could be more fun to post than Halloween?
Those of you who frequent my blog and know my style know that I often make 2 similar cards using the same card base.  That's what I did today.  I cut one 8 1/2x11 piece of gray cardstock in half, made two card bases out of it, and built from there.  So, I have two similar in design, yet quite different in appearance cards to share.
Here's the first one:

I stamped my witch hat image, then painted it with the following Creative Inspirations Paints: Pumpkin, Orange, Light Purple, Royal Purple, Evergreen, and Green Olive.  I love how well the paints blend together!
In real life, the witch's hat is incredibly shimmery! I tried to get a photograph of the shimmer.  Photos just don't do these paints justice, but here's my attempt at it:

Can you see the shimmer on that hat? It's so pretty it spooks me!
Now, on to the second, similar card...

I used the same stamp for my image, the same colors of Creative Inspirations Paint (Pumpkin, Orange, Light Purple, Royal Purple, Evergreen, Green Olive), but mixed it up some, changing the look of the witch's hat.  Both hats are fussy cut, then attached with foam tape for a little 3D effect.
And, here's another view of the second card, again trying to photograph the incredible shimmer of Creative Inspirations Paint.

I love, love, love that shimmer!
Which card is your favorite?  Or is that, witch card?
Here are all the paints I used. So pretty.

Thanks for visiting today. For more details about these cards, and to see what other spooky projects I've been working on, please visit my blog, Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  Have a safe, candy filled Halloween!

Makes Me Happy

Hi everyone! Emily here today with a quick post to share a canvas I made this past week using soeme Creative Inspirations Paints on top of my other mediums.

I've found that CI Paints work really well added on my mixed media pieces as accents, or for smaller embellishments, or even just for various areas of shading in the sky or ground.

On today's canvas I used the paints on the background in the sky and grass, the flowers and on the word Happy.

The paints are so vibrant that added to already bright colors, they really shine! It's just one of the many things I love about CI Paints.

I used Super Sparkle Pink Deliquesce embossing powder for the word Happy... see all of those sparkles?

Colors used on my canvas today:

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a wonderful day! Enjoy your weekend!

For You

Hello crafty friends.  Today I'm sharing a card using an image from the DigiStamp Boutique.

This sweet image is from the Rosie Collection 1.  I colored it with copics and colored pencils and then applied Creative Inspirations Paints to the balloons and package bows to give them some shimmer.  I used Sunshine, Mellow Yellow, Turquoise, and Sky Blue on the balloons.  On the bows, I used Turquoise, Sky Blue, Royal Purple, and Light Purple.  Then I went over all of these areas with Fairy Dust to really add some sparkle!

We have a challenge going on and you can find all the details in this post.  You can find all the Creative Inspirations Paints here.  Thank you so much for stopping by.

Hugs, Anita

If I Had a Flower

Good morning, everybody! I hope this chilly Thursday finds you well.

I've been painting paper flowers - and they weren't even white!! Now, we all know we can paint white flowers any colour we choose, but did you know that you can paint other colours, too? I didn't have any purple flowers. I didn't have any white flowers. I did have some kind of greyish flowers. They're purple now!
I really like mixing colours, mainly because it's fun, so I used several shades of purple. I used Amethyst and Light Purple as a base coat. Over the top, I used Royal Purple and Plum. Not only did using that much paint allow me to get such a wonderful depth of colour, it also gave the paper flowers much more body than they had to begin with, which let me shape them, rather than leaving them flat.

Once the flowers were shaped and attached to the card, I added in a Clear Jeweled Inspirations gem to each flower.

Purple Scallops

Good morning! It's Holly posting today. For my project today, I chose to use shades of purple with lots of shimmery scallops. I added a sterling silver butterfly charm and a sweet sentiment stamped in purple ink.

Do you see the shimmer on the scallops and the ribbon? I used Creative Inspirations Paint on each of the scallop layers as well as on some white wrinkled ribbon. The colors I used are (from light to dark) Winter Frost, Light Purple, Lavender, and Royal Purple.

This card is one of the few that actually turned out exactly as I saw it in my head! I love it when that happens! :-)

Stamps: Vintage Butterflies (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink: French Lilac Palette
CS: White
Creative Inspirations Paints: Winter Frost, Light Purple, Lavender, and Royal Purple
Other: white wrinkled ribbon (May Arts), silver cord, silver butterfly charm, scalloped edge punch (EK Success)
