Getting RItzy - Jan's Digi Shop

Moving right along into January, it's going to be time for Valentine's pretty soon.  It's also time for Jan's Digi Shop Challenge.  I used one of the images from this cute set called Puttin on the Ritz.  Isn't this little guy a cutie?  There's more cute stamps in the set too.  Check it out HERE!

I printed out my penguin and then cut him out after coloring with Copics.  I used a framing die from My Favorite Things and some pine tree images from Impression Obsession.  The sentiment is also from the set of Jan's stamps.  To create the background I just used some distressed inks for the background and then splattered some gesso for snow.  I was pretty proud of myself on the splatters too.....first time I had actual splatters and not streaks of white stuff all across the card!!  I amazed myself!

Come on over and enter our challenge - it's an Anything Goes challenge and a lot of fun!

Friends and Flowers

Friday should be for friends, flowers, and fun!  Even though this isn't a fun card, it does have flowers and it's going to some friends too.  Right before I moved I made some new friends that sorta took me under their wing.  They'd bring me food thinking I probably wasn't eating right (which I wasn't) and just generally checking in with me every day to make sure I was ok.  Great friends and I hated leaving them.  I've been sending them a few cards since I've been here just to let them know how much I think of them.  This will be one of the ones sent.

This is one of the new stamps I recently purchased from Technique Tuesday.  I wanted to just color it and keep it simple so when I found that piece of frame that I'd die cut back whenever, I knew it'd frame out these flowers perfectly.  Colored in Copics and it's a done deal.

Thanks for stopping by..........and have a FUN weekend!

For the Birds - 2 Crafty Critter Crazies

It's time again for another challenge at 2 Craft Critter Crazies!  Spring has sprung ( in some places) and the birds are out in force, singing their little hearts out.   I'm using Little Love Birds from our sponsor this month- Digi Doodle Studios.  They really have some cute images so check out their store.

Be sure and enter our challenge with your card or project for a chance to win a great prize package from our sponsor.  All you need to do is have a critter of some kind on your entry.

It appears I'm back - somewhat. I finally got everything moved and even unpacked.  Parking it somewhere has become a little problem but I'm finding all sorts of nooks and crannies for things.  The desk I had was too large so had to get rid of it and I've finally gotten a different one.  I have all my supplies tucked away in various places and it's like hunting Easter eggs looking for something when I start to make a card.  It's going to take a while to get used to where everything is again I guess.  I'll be back around to check out everyone's blog soon so just bear with me on that.

In the meantime though, enter your card in our challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!

Moving Slow........

Moving slow on a Monday morning.

The image and the sentiment are Gerda Steiner Designs.  I used a stencil and some distress inks behind the cute little guy (or gal), colored with Copics, and that was about it.

Just a fun card to take you into this week.

I'll enter this in the challenge at AAA Cards (friendship).

Leopard in the Wild

The entire time I was using this stencil from Newton's Nook for the background on this card, I was thinking of that song The Lion Sleeps Tonight.  Maybe you have to have a few years on you before you remember it, but it really is an oldie but goodie.  Anyway............

Instead of a lion, we have a leopard hiding among the leaves - and sky too.  The leopard and sentiment are from My Favorite Things - also with the die to frame it out with.  Dimensional tape was used to pop up some of the image and also the sentiment.

Following the sketch challenge at My Favorite Things this week, I'll enter it in their challenge.

Two Buds in a Basket

Sorta like two peas in a pod, we have two buds in a basket!  This will be going to a friend of mine who is really more like a sister to me.   We claim each other as sisters anyway since neither one of us have one.

The image and sentiment are from the Furever Friends set of stamps at My Favorite Things and the die and patterned paper are also from My Favorite Things.    I colored the image with Copics using a gel pen to make the polka dots on the basket and then popped up both the image and the sentiment. The small cut out heart is from Simon Says Stamp.

I'll enter this in the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge and also at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge.

Purr-Fect Friend

As soon as I saw this new release stamp set from My Favorite Things I knew it was one of those "gotta have this NOW" sets.......so into the cart it went.  I've already made a couple more cards using it - all different - so I'm sure you'll see more again soon.
I colored it with Prisma Pencils, sponged some clouds, and the rest is what it is.

Hope you're having Purr-fect day for this Purr-fect kitty!

Sharing a Carrot

It's a mouse - and a rabbit!  Nothing better than sharing a carrot with friends I guess.  Rambo (our doxie) and I usually share one too.  Never knew a dog would like carrots.  Anyway..........

I used the House Mouse stamp called Carrot Friends - colored in Copics and then popped up and mounted on a stitched die.  Two pieces of different patterned paper were added and then the ribbon.  I have so much patterned paper and never seem to use it enough, but sure know how to collect it - just like everyone else I suppose.

I'd like to enter this in the challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge (Friends).

Thanks for stopping by.........and have a great weekend!

Tiger Twins

This one was put in the mail almost as soon as I created it!  It's from Deedee's Digis and it's the stamp of the month for the progressive challenge there!  All you have to do is grab this for a reduced price (unless you got it free by playing along last month), play along this month, and then next month another free set will be sent to you.  It's a win/win situation and Deedee's Digs are all fantastic!

This is a pre-colored image but it also comes in the line version you can color yourself plus another image of these little tigers that will have you giggling. The set also comes with oodles of sentiments!!!  I used some black textured card stock and some snippets of Halloween paper!  A bit of twine finished it off. Very clean and simple but I didn't think it needed much else since the image was so cute.

Thanks for stopping by......and check out Deedee's Digis and join in on our progressive challenge!

Celebrating a Special Day

A really quick card this afternoon to celebrate a very special day!  It's National Dog Day!  Yep!!!  I guess if moms and dads can have a special day, so can our little four legged friends!  So, in honor of all dogs..........

It's all about texture over at the Lawnscaping Challenge so I'll enter this in their challenge.  I used a piece of burlap for the backing and then added a couple of those cute little pups and a bone from Critters in the Dog Park (Lawn Fawn).  The grass die is also from Lawn Fawn and I embossed it with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The sentiment was completed using the stamps and dies from A Birdie Told Me then several sequins added.

I'll also enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets) where I'm really hoping they still let me in the gates there.

Thanks for stopping by.........

Missing the Mark

I don't know about y'all, but when I sit down to make a card I get all these brilliant ideas in my mind.  They seldom look like those bright ideas I had and then Murphy's Law kicks into gear!  If one thing is going to go wrong, all of it will!  This is one of those cards.

I started off with the Stampendous monkeys and vine.  Got the vine stamped in the circle thingy and then stamped the monkeys.  Cut those out and then tried to place them "on the vine".  Oops!  Missed the mark there a little bit but it's got some of the dimensionals on the back and those things will not come loose for any reason.  That one monkey on the right looks more like he's just making a fist and holding onto thin air!  LOL!  Keep going Lynn.....it will get better!  Added the clouds and sentiment.  Oops once again.  Smudges!  I never know where those things come from and really think they appear just to aggravate me.  Anyway, added the enamel dots to cover those.  There's a little tiny bit of blue in that patterned paper that I was matching with the blue circle........snapped the photo and that blue in the paper has turned purple!  Where was my mind (or light) when I glued that stuff down because it really IS purple!!  Oh well.....it is what it is!

How-deeeeeee!

Howdy - and happy Monday to everyone!  What better way to start off the week than with a big smile!  Isn't this little gal precious!  LOL!  Gotta love her all decked out in her finery for today.  Oh, and before you even ask......no, I do not dress this way at all even though I do live in Texas.

Anyway........The stamp I used is from Art Impressions and that sentiment - which I've never used before and can be considered NBUS (more on that in a sec) is from Riley and Company. The blue jean looking paper was from my stash and also the red and white polka dots.  I kept this (as I do all my cards anyway) very simple and it's going to be an easy mailer!

Back to the NBUS........Darnell is a very talented blogger and one sweet and funny lady.  She will keep you smiling for sure....whether you have teeth or not!  She recently reached 500 followers and decided to have a little challenge about NBUS (never-before-used-schtuff) and friendship.  My card will go to a friend to let them know I'm thinking about them.  The NBUS is my sentiment and  that blue jean paper.

Bear Hugs

It's time for another challenge at Digi Haven!!!  Our theme this time is Bear Hugs - use an image of a bear on your project.  Our sponsor is Stamp Art Designs by Kathryne, who also provided the images for the DT to use.  Check out our blog and enter for your chance to win a wonderful prize package!!

I just love this cute little image and I'd probably have about the same expression on my face if I saw a frog poking his head out of the watering can!  They're colored with Copics, cut out, and popped up to sit in the grass die I used.  I sponged in some background clouds and then added the sentiment and button.

Be sure and stop by our challenge blog and see all the inspiration from the DT and enter your card or project.

Thanks for stopping by............and I'll be back later today with another card!

Everything's Just Ducky

Hope everything is just ducky wherever you are today!  I'm here with a cute little digi from Deedee's Digis.  This little guy is from the set Rainy Day and not only includes cute images in color and line, but also sentiments and paper!  All of Deedee's Digis are so very cute and pretty and if you haven't checked out her site yet, go take a peek.

I used the line version of little duck and colored him/her with Copics and made some dots on the umbrella.  the three strips of paper were just some I had in my scraps from various companies.  I added a button and the twine and think this will be good to send to a friend.  Who knows......maybe it'll even rain now!

Thanks for stopping by.........

Die-Mania

For some reason or another, I seem to be on a die rolling kick around here!  I've got several dies and every time I decide to make a card I grab one instead of a stamp.  I'm really thinking that due to the hot weather we've been having I'm just getting extremely lazy!!!  I need to get back into the ink again for sure - and will!

I stumbled across a blog the other day called I'm in Haven......oh my........fantastic cards!  I was sitting here drooling over all her pretty cards - and her use of this die - and then remembered I have that die too (thanks to someone VERY special) !!

I know this is very clean and simple but that tree is so pretty I didn't want to add anything else to the card other than the twine and sentiment.  I used snippets of three different fall colors and placed them behind the cut out leaves.  I used Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, and Pumpkin Pie.  Nice fall colors!  The sentiment is from SU.

I'll enter this in the challenges at Hiding in my Craftroom (super scraps) and Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Friends

I was lucky enough to win a slot in Holly's Rubber Redneck Stampede on-line class a couple of months ago.  Check out her wonderful blog and the next time she has a class, consider signing up.  She has great information, tips, sketches and prizes.  This was similar to one of the cards I completed for the class.  I changed it up a bit by adding some paper piercing and fluffing out the flowers using a stylus - and I don't remember what else I did different, if anything..

I'll enter this in the challenge at Creative Belli Challenge (paper piercing) and The Pink Elephant (embossing).

Hope everyone is having a great week......and I MAY have something a little different on Friday if I get off my duff and get it finished (no, not another Funny Friday - sorry)!

Flower Monster

The challenge over at Hambo Hoedown is in full swing.  It's a progressive challenge so head on over there and submit your creation for the challenge, use any Hambo image, and the next image will be free.  Fun challenge and great images.
The challenge for this week is to use something on your creation that begins with the first letter of your first name (and I'm so very thankful my first name doesn't start with something like a Z)!  So...............

Since my name is Lynn, I used some stuff called Liquid Glass from CTMH on the nose and ears of Mr. Monster - and also on the center of the flower.  Of course I just had to color him in one of the lavender Copics too.  I stitched around the polka dot paper and distressed the edges a little.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Little Miss Muffet (Animals and Monsters) , Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog (Stitching), Stamptacular Sunday Challenge (distressing) and Digi Doodle Shop (distressing).

Thanks for stopping by............and check out the Hambo challenge!

SRU Friends

Our challenge, beginning today over at Stamps R Us, is themed Friendship.  Come on over and submit your entry for a chance to win a fabulous prize from our sponsor, Karber
This is just one of the cute images you can find in the Karber store.  Isn't she just the cutest little thing with those great big glasses.  She looks so studious!  I colored her with Copics and am still trying to get that hair coloring down better.....maybe I'll just have to say forget it and go back to the Prisma pencils - which I love.  Ah, but there's nothing like a challenge - so I'll keep trying I guess.  Very simple card using a scrap piece of paper and some pink card stock.  I placed a few rhinestones around the scallop circle since it's pretty much a "girlie" looking card.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure and enter the Stamps R Us challenge!

Hanging Around

I started to title this post "Fried Brain" but thought Hanging Around sounded a little better today.  The reason it was going to be named Fried Brain is because I'm really thinking that's what's happened to my brain in all this heat!  I've just lost all my motivation to do anything....I don't want to create, cook, clean,, ( well, cooking and cleaning probably don't have anything to do with the heat) or ANYTHING.   If you don't live in Texas, you may have heard on the news about how hot and dry it is here this year.  Let me tell 'ya - it's not pretty AT ALL!  Yesterday we got up to 113 degrees!  Maybe by October I'll get some mojo back.  Until then I'll keep struggling along I guess.

I recently won some blog candy from Rebekka's blog (A Diamond in the Rough) and was just overwhelmed at all the goodies that were in that box!  One of the many stamp sets she sent was from Gina K called Seeds of Kindness.  I'd been eying this hanging basket of ivy image from that set after seeing a card in my Copic Coloring Guide.  So, due to having Fried Brain, decided to CASE that card.  This is almost a total CASE too.  I did sew around the main panel though.  I've never done straight stitching on a card and believe me...it's a  lot harder than it looks.  I  managed to get the seams somewhat straight but the top and bottom are at two different measurements.

Anyway, thank you again Rebekka for all the lovely things you sent.

Thanks for stopping by.........

Forever Friends

Usually when you hear this term, it's "friends forever" not "forever friends". I really think it sounds pretty good either way you put it!

This layout is from Tami at Team Gingerbread blog (go check out her site - it's wonderful). The layout was actually for a group challenge blog - but is no longer there. I really like the layout though and will be using it again, I'm sure. Thanks Tami!

The paper I used is Old Olive, Very Vanilla, and My Minds Eye DP. I used the Vintage Vogue stamp set and did a little masking. Of course, the beige bow was made using the Bow-Easy.
Thanks for stopping by..........
