Pete's Here!!!
Last week, Patty, my previous owner, was looking for a new home for me. I met Patty from SU!s 2009 Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida. She took me under her wings and brought me home to Northern California. It was fun being with her but Patty wanted me to see more and be in a new home where I could be loved and be cared for. Then my adventure started... destination Southern California.
I travelled far and long in a box and felt warmer and warmer... travelled through the Grapevine and through a big city called L.A. Huge city but not a place for a bird like me. I had to be patient, I had to be strong as I was near. Then finally Orange County, no oranges here but I think I'm closer to the beach area. Finally, my box got dropped off. Then I await.....
As I daydream and wait patiently, I heard footsteps and heard a voice. "HE'S HERE!!!!". This is the moment I've been waiting for, meeting my new mom! ... and..... HELLO MAMA!!! I just felt the warmth of Kay's heart and the welcome of her home. PERFECT!!! Patty made a great choice for me. Thanks, Patty! I will always remember you.
BTW, here was a note to Kay that Patty made using her MDS. It's a very lovely card that made Kay so special. Oops, I'm hugging it too much... here's the inside of the card. Isn't it sooo beautiful!!! I will miss you Patty.
I guess that's it for now. My new mom, Kay, will be giving me a corner here at Creations on Paper. It's sooo cozy here and I'd like to see all of you again. Ok...thanks for visiting me here! see ya later... oh... Accdg to Patty, Kay didn't know that I was being named after her brother...hmm... I think I like it. Yes, I have a new mom and my name is Pete.

Because I Care Card
The project today is inspired by the new Hostess Level 1 Stamp Set - Because I Care. I hope to make more cards with this set to inspire you, hostesses of my workshops.
I used the blender pen technique to get that watercolor effect on the flower and leaves. TIP: Press your Ink Pad cover (with lid closed) to touch the ink inside. Then as you open your ink pad, dip your blender pen on inkpad lid that has ink. And you're ready to color!
To make that 3D effect on my hydrangeas, I stamped the image of a piece of the flower and punched it out using my Itty Bitty Shapes punch (#118309= 3-pack punch).
Hydrangeas are one of my favorites and I love having them around the house. At one time, I tried drying them out with long stems on them and see how it would look like. They came out so gorgeous with a touch of countryside feeling. I just had to trim off the leaves. Hydrangeas are huge when bundled together and it makes a great centerpiece in a room. TIP: A big basket is the best holder for these dried hydrangeas.
Supplies Used:
Cardstock:
- Daffodil Delight (new renovation color)

Playing with Strings and Yarns- A Flower Tutorial
Hello!!! As promised, I'm going to teach you today how to make these lovely flowers with strings! It's my original creation and I hope you like it! You READY?
Step 1: STAMP AND PUNCH - Stamp a piece of cardstock with centerpiece, like the Vintage Labels stamp or anything that may have a center. Then punch out a flower with XL Fancy Flower punch or Scallop Circle Punch. (make sure that the stamped image is on the center). You may also curl your flower with a pencil.
Step 2: THE STRING - Twirl your string or yarn as illustrated below, with your thumb and index finger. You can use both hands to do this (of course, it's much easier, a caveman can do it!!.. jokingly)... Do NOT cut the string yet!!
Step 3: STAPLE - Then staple your string on the flower cardstock piece twice to secure it. TIP: Do not cut the string yet until you fully stapled your string onto the flower.
VOILA!!! You have a lovely stringed-center Flower. Don't forget to add on a small button or a small round embellishment to finish your flower piece :) My note cards featured here are measured at 3"x 3" (cut 3"x6" and scored at 3"). The inner piece with ticket corners are measured at 2-1/4" square.

Sweet Pea Stitched Felts
I was so happy to get my package from Patty and Tomi yesterday. They both had spared me one package each of the Sweet Pea Stitched Felts as they saw my Cellphone Holders. I expressed that it would look soooo cute.... and here it is! I just love it! As my thank you, I sent these undecorated felt Cellphone holders to them so they can embellish them as they wish. Thanks, Patty! Thanks, Tomi!
These stitched felt embellishment is in the 2010 Occassions Mini catalogue, #117266 p.32 . I'm not sure if it will still be available after April 30th. Order them before supplies last.
I wanted to share what Patty sent with these felt embellishments. It's a cool "Extreme Surfboard" card (#120226 p.11 - SAB) and she really did a great job on it. Thanks again, Patty!

Thank you Note to Raine
TGIF!!! First, I would like to welcome Raine to the Stampin Up! family. She's now a demonstrator who signed up under me. It was a wonderful experience just chatting with her because she was really intuitive and excited about the various perks of being a demonstrator. Actually, her sister Jay "Jaygirl", had influenced her when Jay began her journey with the products. And that's how Raine got into the world of Stampin Up!
Like her sister, she's a very talented lady who is enthusiastic with what she can share and reap the rewards of being a SU! demonstrator. So what are you waiting for, Join my Team!
Here's a card where I used a very cute stamp. It's a set called "Very Thankful" #115338, last page in the IBC. Give Thanks Card
It's been a month since I moved and I planned to get this out earlier, but didn't get the chance :( Anyway, I sent some out later. If you didn't get one, here is my post to say "I'm Greatful for You". :) Plus, this card served as my notification that I've moved..hehehe. I added more this card but didn't get the chance to show them to you. You may add on some leaves around the card in different colors. That'll give more perk to the card. I hope you like it :)
Surprise! There's a pop up turkey inside the card!!! What's thanksgiving without a turkey?
To pop out the turkey, I punched a window word piece of cardstock and folded it 3 way the stuck the turkey onto one side of the piece. Now your ready to attach the pop up to your card with both ends of the window word piece! It's easy!
