Sunburst Flower Treats
The first name that popped in my dad's head when I asked his thoughts about this project, he immediately suggested that they look like "sunburst flowers" to him. Thus, gave birth to the name of these treats. hihi.
Aren't these sooo cute. I used the SU! Treat Cups #116802 on both sides sealing them back to back. Then cover these cups with 2 XL Flower Folds BigShot die #115970 on both sides. Don't forget to adhere the flowers together on its petals.
You must be wondering how I cut a hole in the center of the flower to fit the cups. Easy! First, take a template of your 1-3/4" circle Punch #119850 and tape it on the center of each flower before adhering 2 flower folds together.
Cut through one corner between petals then cut-trace your circle. You have your hole.
Don't worry that your flower folds have opening cuts because they'd be covered with another piece of circle ring which you can make by using your 1-3/4" Circle punch #119850 then your 2-1/2" Circle punch #120906, in that order. You can emboss or stamp the ring before adhering them onto the outer center of the treat cups.
I added a 1/4" grosgrain ribbon as a handle and tied a tag with an elastic silver string #109866.

Chocolate Bar Card from Raidis
Hello there! I was surprised with a gift from a friend yesterday. She came to visit my mom bearing gifts! This was one of them that was very special and handmade. She used the ever so beautiful Bigz L Die, Fun Flowers #121812 (from 2011 OMC). I have yet to get that die.... shucks. The Designer Brads- Flower #112579 sealed the flower gorgeously. She used a DSP (which I'm not familiar with, but it held up the Hershey chocolate bar cover beautifully) and used the Scallop Trim Border #118402 with a label using the small oval punch #119863.
Thanks for the thoughtful and beautiful gifts, Raidis. I also took a picture of the aromatic bag of Godiva Premium Chocolate Truffle Coffee...mmmmmmm. Can't wait to try it. Coffee anyone?

Paper Rosettes - Tutorial
Time for a tutorial! I've been seeing these Rosettes in satin ribbons lately and wondered how they would look like in paper. Well, I've also seen some tutorials floating around lately and I just wanted to recreate a little version of these paper rosettes. I think they call it rosettes because of its size.
Hang in there, the look of having something so small may not interest you in making them. But you shall see that there will be a sequel to this tutorial.
Supplies Needed:
- Whisper White CS (or any color, but Whisper White is easy to work on your first rosettes)
- Pretty in Pink Ink Pad
- Sponge
- Scissors
- 1-3/4" Circle Punch
- glue dots (or glue gun)
STEP 1: PUNCH and SPONGE
Punch out a 1-3/4" Circle Punch Whisper White CS piece and sponge with Pretty in Pink (or other color you prefer).
STEP 2: CUTTING
With your scissors, beginning on one side, cut your circle in a coil direction towards the center.
STEP 3: SCROLLING
Starting from the outer side of the coil, start scrolling as illustrated towards the center of the coil.
STEP 4: ADHERE
To seal your rosettes, apply a glue dot at the end of the coil (which would be positioned under the rosette after scrolling) or use your glue gun.
TADAHHHH!!! It's so much fun making them. Specially when you like paper flowers. Try it out for size.
TIP: You can also use any size Circle Punch to make these rosettes. Also, the thinner you cut your coils the more flat your flower will come out (good for embellishing a card). The wider coils make your rosettes look puffier.

60th Birthday Cake and Souveneirs
My friend ordered these souveneirs for a 60th Birthday Party and specified she wanted something with the cake boxes. Here's what I came out with. I used Baja Breeze CS for the cake, Very Vanilla CS for the flower, and Chocolate Chip Brown satin ribbon for the sides of the cake box. It looked like Satin Frosting in a layered cake :) Yum! Noticed that I stamped the "Elements of Style" stamp on top of the cake with Soft Suede Ink and didn't put leaves on the flowers. Looks gorgeous!
I made Ghirardelli Boxes to match, too! When I was deciding to put a 60th Birthday tag on it, I changed my mind and found my Butterfly Punch #119848. I wanted to make a chocolate looking embellishment so I simply punch one and added a pearl embellishment #119247. They even looked like bows to me! Doesn't it?
I also used the "Elements of Style" Stamp #120045, for a background image on the box. For the belly band, I used "Crumb Cake" CS. The box came out simple and elegant!

Cake Boxes by Renate Poort
Another cake share this month! This time from Renate Poort. Her cake is so delectable. Feels very inviting to eat..hihi. The big flower she says was an artifical flower she bought for a Diaper Cake. The color matched her small flowers so she decided to make it a center piece for her cake.
Thanks for the share, Renate! Your cake is spectacular :) You may visit her in her blog at Hobby Paleis.

Flower Tags/ Bookmarkers
Hello, there! It's just been bright and sunny lately and I'm feeling colorful today. I just loved those scallop folded flowers they featured in the NEW Idea Book Catalog (p. 123) They're so easy to make. I'd be glad to show how to make them with illustrations but I'm jam packed full in my sched this week. But I can give you some little tips.
Folded Scallop Flower Instruction:
1. Punch 2 scallops with the Scallop Circle Punch (#119854) then make folded scores in 7 directions around the scallop so it would be easy to fold them like a fan later. TIP: Use your Bone Folder to assist in the creases.
2. Cut one folded score right into the middle of the Scallop Circle
3. Then fold your scores which will make it like a folded fan.
4. Do step 1,2 and 3 with the other scallop.
5. Adhere both fans together and they make a lovely flower.
Cardstock color used here are Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Real Red.
The tag used here was cut from a BigShot Template - Two Tags (#115954). The buttons used in this project were my mom's. She had collected so many buttons over the years we were growing up and now she wants to dispose of it and gave it to me for my projects. Some buttons, I may say, are antique too.

Cake Collection #4 by Cindy
Another great share! This time from Cindy Hall! What a CAKE! She made her flowers in Whisper White and smudged it with pink ink. Then glittered them..Ooh, lala!!! The leaves of the flowers were folded and crimped with a crimping tool, too! So clever! She also used a different scallop edge on the bottom of the cake and embossed the body of the cake with polka dots. Nice take as I may say!
Here's the top view. She also made like a cake topper on the center with towering flowers set on a scallop circle piece!!! Just Brill...!!! Thanks for sharing your cake, Cindy!

Eyelet Rose Tutorial
Hi, There! This is a Step by Step tutorial for another lovely rose just for you. This time you'll be using SU!s Eyelet Border punch. Here are the items you'll need:
- 2 strips of cardstocks measuring 1" x 11"
- Eyelet Border Punch
- 1-1/4" Circle Punch
- Bone Folder
- Crimper
- Hot glue gun or glue
INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP 1: Punch
Punch one side of each strip using the Eyelet Border Punch
STEP 2: Distress
Using your bone folder, distress your strips like a curling a ribbon.
STEP 3: Crimp and Fold
Using your Crimper, crimp both strips of your cardstock, then fold your strips in a slanted manner to make an inward twirl.
STEP 4:
Using your 1-1/4" circle punch, punch a piece as the base of your flower. Then apply glue to the edge of your circle to immediately twirl and adhere your cardstock strips.
STEP 5: Form the flower
Apply glue on the next round as illustrated until the base grows smaller.
STEP 6: Finishing the Rose bud
Before glueing the center, scroll the end piece of the strip remaining to make a bud then apply a glop of glue on the center of the base to adhere your bud.
THEN YOU HAVE YOUR ROSE!!! Enjoy and have fun making them!
