Xmas Containers - Candy Cane Christmas DSP

Last month, I found a container that I bought long ago. It must have just crept under the bed and had gone to my forgotten list..hihi. Anyway, I already decorated some containers a couple of years ago with DSP. This time I tried them with the Candy Cane Christmas DSP for yummy cookies my mom's going to make. In this picture, I put my small retired stamps to raffle away in my workshops when I pick a name from the Door Prize entree that were submitted. Cool idea for your workshop.

These containers are smaller than the usual containers you find in Costco filled with bulk goods (like Chocolate covered raisins, peanuts, etc.)

So many years ago, we crafted cookie jars or Cookie ingredient jars with those Xmas printed cloth on the lid. Do you remember those? This time I cut a piece of the Designer Fabric - Candy Cane Christmas (#121715) to match the DSP paper. Isn't that cool? I just cut a round piece which measured 1/2" bigger than the lid. Then, I placed batting material (polyester) to put padding (like a soft pillow) on the cover then sealed the fabric with glue gun!!

So that you don't see the ugly part of the glued fabric, I adhered a Tasteful Trim border from the Bigz XL Die #120893. Then I decorated with DSP #120809!!! Don't forget the 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon #109034.

SOOO EASY!!! Oh, I also put little Basic Pearl Embellishment #119247 in front and back of the container. Here is the back side. I used the Homemade Stamp #116978 with Real Red Ink Pad. Then punched it out with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch #118874

Mom's Succulent Plants - Part 2

Hi, there! It's the weekend again and I just wanted to give you Part 2 of Mom's Succulent plant arrangements. I took these pictures a week after to see how they're holding up since she planted them in water with rocks. These cactus had grown and lived in soil all their lives so we had to see if they'd survive. And they DID!!!
We noticed that these cactus had new sprouts in the middle and grew faster than usual! Boy, wouldn't that be a sight after a month. Well, stop by again and we'll show how it goes after a period of time. :) If you want to follow my mom's projects in one screen, just click this category: Mom's Corner

Here's another arrangement in a smaller vase. Ain't it cute :) Thanks for stopping by! :)

Succulents and Cactus Arrangement by Mom

Mom was so busy one afternoon just making these cactus arrangements. She made a couple of them for display around the house. They looked gorgeous and looked like she had bought them in the store!!! She took empty vases in storage and cleaned them up then started to transfer her cactus nursery into these vases. She added some river rocks and pebbles that were also in storage. What do you think?

Now you know where I get my artistic edge. It all runs in the blood..lol :) I'm so lucky to have my mom :)

Mickey Decorated Container Jars

Ivy had just sent me this picture of her new creation. She gave this away to her friends who agreed to host a workshop and they all loved it! One of the jars she made was this Mickey Mouse silhouette with a lovely real red finial embossed background then tied a 1" Double Stiched grosgrain ribbon(#115607, p.182) around the jar. It's soooo cute! I asked one from her..heee. Oh btw, she used the "Thank you Kindly" set #120248 on her tag. She got it free from SAB. I want one too!

She also made another version using the "Very Thankful" Stamp Set #120270 p.11 from the SAB catalogue which she got free! We're sorry that the picture didn't do justice but it's so cute in person. Notice that she also used the grass techinique on it and colored the image with blender pens and Stampin' pad inks. She also couldn't resist using those tissue flowers. What a perfect way to use them. Soooo Cute.

Holiday Craft Fair and Ideas

Hi, Ladies! Last week was a busy week for me and my friends. We had so much fun making items we could sell at Holiday Craft fair held outside the church last Sunday. I would like to thank my friends who invited me to their booth and had so much fun with them selling. Here are some ideas I would like to share with everyone if you're thinking of joining some Holiday Craft fairs this season..

Here are some Holiday Fancy Favor bags by Mayda!

Aileen made this beautiful grouping frame, decorated with DSP- Merry Moments #115672

Some Top Notes Treat bags by Denise and Lisa! They were also a hit selling them at $1 each!!!
Merry Tags made by Lisa are a hit too!

The chocolate nugget treats. Aileen made these with handmade square boxes to fit these yummy treats :) I made a similar one in tins too! I didn't get a chance to take the pictures because they sold out within an hour. Anyway, I'll try to remake them again for your viewing.

Candy Jars made by Mayda. The red covered jars with candy canes inside just made it so yummy inviting!! She sold them out too! BTW, notice she made a scallop edge below the jar! :)

One of my favorites. Aileen made cello bags of potpourri. All tagged and ribboned. Notice that you can make your own potpourri using wood sheets #116309 p.158, then use the Big Shot die SU! Flower Folds -#115970 p.201, to make a lovely shaped wooden flower and spice it up with your favorite oil scent!!!

Here are other items sold in the booth! Notice that we were selling Family Trees. We are taking orders for them now! So hurry before Xmas time runs out.

Here was what was left on my table..lol! I sold SU! retired stamps for a friend too! Notice that I had some Gift Card Purses on the left side of the picture. Those were the only ones left...lol! They were really a hit!! Thanks to Angie's blog. She taught me how to make them :)

If you were wondering what was my gift with purchase, I bought some $1 beannie toys (like cute dogs, bears and kitties) then decked it with ribbon, a jingle bell and the SU! Merry Embosslits #116820. They really helped in the sale! The qualifying purchase was $20 to get this cute beanies animals.

Here are cards I made for the fair! I made a Punch Art which I called "SNOWMAN BLISS". I placed them in the embossed cards which I stamped with snowflakes from the "CHRISTMAS PUNCH" Stamp Set (Hostess Level 2 Set). The arms of the snowman are made from the Jumbo Snowflake punch -#116628 p.186.

I will post my Snowman Bliss PUnch art in a seperate post with instructions. I also made the punch art as tags and they sold out !!!! I also placed these snowman punch arts as tags on the Nugget Tins I was selling. Sold out, too!! Gosh! Didn't really think it would be that popular! They made a perfect match with all the items on the table (like a theme)!

Hi, Stampers! My mom has been keeping these containers after they are used up. You find them everywhere in Costco or any Bulk Groceries. They're filled with anything you can think of. I decided to cover and decorate them with DSP and here is what I came out with! Next time you see these containers, have fun decorating them. So many to store in it too! It can also be a wonderful gift. I'm going to display them in my classes as treats for the class! (cookies, brownies, mini muffins)

Here is what's behind the Container Jars. Isn't it cute! Funny, I can put a wish list of goodies to put in the container :)

Container Details:
Since the container covers were like rose red, I decided to use the Candy Lane DSP.
