Kiss the Cook - Holiday Packaging

Counting down to Christmas, we have traditions in the family we love to do to remind us of the spirit of giving. One of them is baking our banana nut bread for our friends and family. The most exciting part of it is packaging them in bright red, green and blue cello and foil with very cute tags and ribbons. Every year, we come up with different ones and this years title is "KISS THE COOK Snowman". Thanks mom for pitching in the idea this year.

Here are other colors with other belly bands. This time I used SU!s Waffle Paper #120984 (metallic gold and silver). I thought I was going to go through the holidays without using them.. duh.

My snowmans look like they're blowing out kisses. Get ready to catch one:)

Punches Used:
- 2-1/2" circle Punch #120906
- 2 Step Owl Punch (the circle images of the owl's eyes are so useful; I used the medium and tiny size) #118074
- Full Heart Punch (Cut the other half of the heart into a thumb shape to make mittens. #119883
- Heart to Heart Punch (used the small heart to decorate the mittens) #119881

Cardstock:
- Whisper White (snowman head)
- Basic Black (eyes and mouth)
- Old Olive (for the mittens)
- Peach Parfait (2010-12 in color) or Snowman Nose

DSP:
- Jolly Holiday #117159 (decorate the mittens)

Other Supplies:
- Crop-A-Dial (tag hole)
- elastic Gold #109867 and Silver #109866 cords
- 5/8" Satin Ribbon (Early Espresso)#119753
- 3/4" Grosgrain Polka Dot Ribbon (Real Red)#115608
- SU!s Waffle Paper #120984 (metallic gold and silver)

Have a Merry Christmas!!! May you have a fun-filled, joyous and delightful one.

Monkey Bread

Happy 4th to everyone!!! Here's something different for the occasion. Not SU! related but an addition to Independence Day Celebration. Mom and I baked this a couple of weeks ago to try the recipe and Voila!!! A piece of art! (thanks again to Raidis who had me taste her version). This bread is sooooo good with coffee at breakfast! Hellooo, as a dessert too!!! Yummmm...

They say that wild Monkeys eat like there's no tomorrow and just pulls apart there food to eat. (really don't know where that came from). This bread is in that "Pull Apart" category where it just goes with every pinch and pull then you're ready to eat the piece. No bread/cake knife needed...hah :)

To anyone who likes the recipe, please leave a comment here and I'll email them to you.

HAPPY 4th to everyone!

Mom's Succulent Plants - Part 2

Hi, there! It's the weekend again and I just wanted to give you Part 2 of Mom's Succulent plant arrangements. I took these pictures a week after to see how they're holding up since she planted them in water with rocks. These cactus had grown and lived in soil all their lives so we had to see if they'd survive. And they DID!!!
We noticed that these cactus had new sprouts in the middle and grew faster than usual! Boy, wouldn't that be a sight after a month. Well, stop by again and we'll show how it goes after a period of time. :) If you want to follow my mom's projects in one screen, just click this category: Mom's Corner

Here's another arrangement in a smaller vase. Ain't it cute :) Thanks for stopping by! :)

Succulents and Cactus Arrangement by Mom

Mom was so busy one afternoon just making these cactus arrangements. She made a couple of them for display around the house. They looked gorgeous and looked like she had bought them in the store!!! She took empty vases in storage and cleaned them up then started to transfer her cactus nursery into these vases. She added some river rocks and pebbles that were also in storage. What do you think?

Now you know where I get my artistic edge. It all runs in the blood..lol :) I'm so lucky to have my mom :)
