Poker Themed Birthday Party

A milestone birthday recently celebrated. Posts here are for the table center pieces, party favors and banner. Actual playing cards were mostly used for the items. Pictured here is the table center piece. The holder is a black gift wrapping covered Kraft box. Each side has a red mat with computer generated card paper found on Etsy.  Fill the box with Styrofoam, cover with black card stock, then a bunch of red shreds.  Each of the card suits (cut out using my Silhouette) are held using those clear flower message holders.  Each table had a different set of winning hands. It was a great celebration.
Here's a closer look at the main centerpiece with another different hand. The "70" is computer generated, then cut using my Silhouette.
The party favor: a box made using black card stock, red mat, and computer generated paper from Etsy. The "thank you" circle embellishment is also a purchase from Etsy.
Inside the box fit: a set of Peppermint Pattie "chips" and a card box containing poker wrapped Hershey Chocolates, The "chips" are computer generated. There is a piece of Peppermint Pattie in between.  The card box is made using white card stock and two actual playing cards (one for the front and one for the back).
Here's how each table is decorated: randomly placed cards used as "sprinkles".
The banner: It ended up to be larger than expected since each letter was 8" x 10".  Simply use black and white card stock. Cut each letter and card suit using the Silhouette.
Here's a closer look at the smaller size card that separates the phrases:
Here's what's inside the card box: Chocolate wrapped Hershey Nuggets

Monstera Wedding Banners

A quick post on the banners made for the June Hawaiian Wedding.  The Bride purchased the "Bride" and "Groom" wood words. Monstera cut leaves are behind the words to co-ordinate with the overall Monstera theme.
Here's the "Welcome" banner greeting the guests.  The inked wood clothespins held the leaves in place on a natural jute string. "Welcome" is cut using the Silhouette machine in Gold card stock and Sweet Pea Font.
In  front of the bar: a banner that simply says "Cheers".  Monstera leave them and Gold card stock. Again, inked clothes pins used to secure the letters on a natural jute string.
For the dessert table, "Love is Sweet" banner hung. Inked wooden clothes pins secured onto a natural Jute string used.  The same Gold card stock used for the Sweet Pea Font.
Thank you for stopping by to see the projects from the wedding. More projects to be posted soon.

Last Projects for Day 2: Trinket Box and Banner

The last projects from Day 2 of the La-la Land Retreat...................can you believe there are one more day of projects?  Let's get right to it. First of the three projects today: Hot Cocoa Marci Trinket Box by Design team Leader Sandie (her blog here). The Trinket Box Kit can be found here. Finished size is 5" x 6-1/2" x 1".  And, of course, I again forgot to stamp the message (dah) so had to do yet another search in my craft room  (urgh) - finally found this message from Papertrey Ink called Warm Happiness Too that fits perfectly on the label. It is stamped using Momento Cocoa ink......how appropriate is that! Dies used for this project are the Book tab and Labels Die and Heart Snowflake Die which can be found here.
Echo Park paper  from my stash called Very Merry Christmas: Music Notes and Holly Berry replaced the original paper for this project. I really wanted a red color theme. I did keep the colors used for Hot Cocoa Marci for this project (although I really wanted to color her dress in reds - too much!)  A Music background stamp from Impression Obsession used for the oval  on the outside and inside - it was stamped using brown ink on Vanilla card stock. Edges are sponged using the Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink. Lots of adhesive pearls used. The snowflakes have Sakura Crystal gel pen outlined for some additional subtle shine.
Are you noticing the Stickles Stardust along the edge of the Trinket Box?  So subtle and just enough shine. It is also added to the Brackets, too.
Love the Ivory color ribbon: I spritzed it with some water, crumpled it up, and let it dry to get this look.
Trinket Box inside: isn't it just "yummy"?
 Top view:
Thank you Sandie for your inspiration on this project - I LOVE it so much!!!!

Here's another holiday project: Snowflake Garland Marci Banner by Design Team Leader Debbie (her blog here). I was thrilled beyond my shoes when I saw this project.  For this banner, the following dies were used:Scallop Boarder Die, Ornate Snowflakes Die, Rolled Rose Small and Medium Die, Holly Flourish Die, Pretty Poinsettia Die, Heart Fence Die, Christmas Tree die  and can be all found here. Another LOVE LOVE LOVE project!
Banner section is 5" x 6". Letters are embossed. Stardust Stickles is added to the shadow of each letters..........LOVE the sparkle! On top of each section are quill rolled roses on top of the snowflakes.  Red adhesive rhinestones used for the center of the small snowflake.
Viva Gold Pearl pen used for the centers of the poinsettias. White Out/Correction Fluid is added to the edges of the poinsettias.
 Center section:
Snowflake Marci is holding a sting of snowflakes. Photo doesn't show the Sakura Crystal Gel pen used on the snowflake. Adhesive rhinestone added to the center of the snowflake.
Last section features a 3D Christmas tree with red adhesive rhinestones and also White Out/Correction Fluid for the "snowy" effect.  Two Christmas trees were folded in half for this 3D effect. LOVE the fence in the background, too
Here's a better look at the Christmas tree:
The third project today is a journal by Design Team member Sue (her blog here). It is using the Daisy Faerie Marci image. This project is using the Trinket Box Kit omitting the box sections, adding a binder ring on the spine. Clever, eh? Dies used on this project: Heart Doily Boarder Die, Stitched Tabs Die, Pretty Poinsettias Die, Heart Tree Die, Stitched Scallop Boarder Die, Water Lily Die, Decorative Corner Die which all can be found here. I flipped when I saw this great project............great, eh?
Glossy Accents added to the flower headband for some shine.  Stardust Stickles added to the wings....after all Faeries need some glitter on their wings.
A closer look at the flower (Water Lily Die) with the bling-bling center:
Back, spine and front view: I added the decorative corners to the back
Additional pages added to this journal:
 The binder:
Whew..........so this was last of the Day 2 projects......all the projects were over the top...........are you ready for Day 3? Stay tuned..................

Jukebox Birthday Banner

At the last minute, I decided to make a birthday banner for the table. It was good to have all the images already sized and on the Silhouette mat to be cut using the SVGcuts.com Rock & Rollin Collection. I really got a lot of use of this collection.  It is well worth the cut file. The banner is a FREE SVG cut file I found from Paper Creativity here. All I had to do was insert a banner triangle using the basic shapes from the SCAL library - easy!!!! Each banner piece measures 8" x 10-1/2". Extra large eyelets hold each banner piece tied with Yellow and Green Organdy Ribbon - not too girly!!!!
The Jukebox for the banner is 3-1/2" x 5". It is replicated from the 3D Jukebox w/tea lights. Even the music list is the same - ya gotta have some really good set of eyes to see the list!!! Some of the images are popped with foam tape.  "happy birthday" is a FREE SVG cut file from SVGcuts.com found here. On the poker chips, the "R" is sized, then cut using SCAL.
The letters used for "RICK" were imported from the SVGcuts.com 3D Letter SVG Collection and then cut using my Silhouette. That was so easy.............all I had to do was re-size it to fit into the banner.
"enjoy the day" was made using SCAL Comic Sans font, cut using my Silhouette. Each letter was arranged, then welding together. Make an offset in Black card stock as the mat. That's it for this birthday bash................I'm done and over it!!!!
