Wells Park, Michigan and Escanaba, Michigan Day trip

Hello and welcome. I am guessing by now you thought I had given up on the blog… Yet again in my life. The answer is NO! I have just had an overwhelming April. As you may know, I have been in the 100 Day Project, and I dedicated a large part of my time to it, as well as giving love, support, and encouragement to others in the community. Enjoying the conversations and sharing and the beautiful art! The creativity was astounding, well still is! Today’s the 100th Day! Wooohoooo! Shouting that out. As a woman with ADHD combined type, I am not a quitter but I let other things consume me and what I want to do goes by the wayside. Not this time!! I completed the 100 Day Project and I am so proud of myself and others in the community online. Bravo everyone!!!  As I said we went into the unknown, traveled a bit in the liminal and came out glowing stars! ⭐️ I’m still smiling.

Now to what happened on this day. Alexis and the boys had arrived Friday night to come visit us and Saturday Garrett was coming up. I had suggested to Bruce let’s do something as most days I never leave my house. Well rarely. So I mentioned it to Alexis and everybody was ready to go. We started off at Wells Parks first, it was very chilly. We were in coats well at least the “old people” Bruce and I. Haha! On the beach we searched for rocks. I waited for my grandsons to bring me rocks and I would scan them on my phone to tell them how old they were or what type of fossil was in the stones. Everyone brings me the rocks so fast that I couldn’t even keep up, lol. While out on the Lake Michigan, I saw the boat and painted it in the car as we were heading to go out to eat. My SIL took us which was so very nice. It was a great day!!! Relaxing and enjoying family. My SIL even suggested I get a margarita so they brought out the pitcher and three of us had one. It was great. Not many places have the pitchers anymore. I can remember going over to Newport News to meet my dad (RIP) at a Mexican restaurant off of Jefferson Avenue. We all would get the pitcher of margaritas, the band would come over and play. It was awesome. I am always thinking of him. We miss Richard!!!

So to get back to the day…..as you know I gotta share everything! So these paintings you see here are just tiny paintings and not even trying to impress or get it perfect through the 100 day project I have learned to JUST SHOW UP! Make something, paint something and that’s what I did! I still did the 100 Day project of my mushrooms but I painted other things as well. It has been a true gift for myself. Just sketch just draw who cares if isn’t perfect it’s the process the learning that counts. It’s FUN!

Because of all the inspirations and ideas and this year learning so much about not being perfect or painting the most perfect thing I now have freedom that I never had before I tell you guys this because it’s been a freeing experience. Now I can pop out the sketch book and draw or watercolor on the location. Good memories and enjoyable. Now I will have this tiny little paintings I will remember the day!

The conifer
The lake
I was doing these in the car while Bruce was driving.
Back at the house Garrett was playing the drum I had out it always gets everybody making music. Love it!
Garrett had brought me back earrings and a necklace from Buc-ee’s I love them. Thank you. He thought of me and said she will love these. They are tie dye earrings and necklace. ❤️

Lake Michigan Ledger and Riggs on the rock
Do look at this beautiful mushroom heart signing a red belted bracket fungus it’s beautiful!!

After we left Wells Park Garrett suggested we go to Escanaba. Here we were out looking at the museum’s display outside as they were closed. Riggs smiling.
The art birds are amazing and so creative.

Inside the museum I took the picture through the door

Here is the boat I painted I didn’t even see the house until later so I added that in

In my mushroom book I did this for Day 87

This was the boat I painted on location but I didn’t see the house until later in the picture so I added that as well.

Bruce and I shared the fajitas for one. As that is still too much for us. It was definitely delicious!!! The waiter was fabulous!

I hope you enjoyed the day at Wells Park Michigan. As well as Escanaba, Michigan. We certainly did. Thanks to Garrett for buying our lunch and margaritas. Alexis and the boys and Garebear I enjoyed your visit. It was nice to get out together and see something new. Thank you so much. Take care everyone and I will talk to you soon. Wait my granddaughter Samantha is going to her prom tonight…… more to come.

Days 80-90 100 Day Project Mushrooms 🍄

Hello and welcome I am so sorry it’s been a few days….but that’s life. Now that it is warm my heart ponders to go outside. So concentrating on art or something else has been a challenge. The sun shines and the temperatures are so delightful. Bruce moved all my plants to the greenhouse so I enjoy being in there looking at plants and making sure they have what they need. It is very relaxing and peaceful. If you would like to see the other pages go here

I know you must of thought she wasn’t going to make it…. I believed in myself and with a person of ADHD accomplishing this task to the finish line….well today is Day 92. It’s exciting and so rewarding. I feel so proud of myself. Toot toot my own horn. Haha it was fun, educational and I found my very own VOICE. If you remember my only one word for this year was to find my VOICE. Along the way I found it… I have made 90% of these from my own head just whatever came out or looking at a real mushroom and reading its habitat to find what background I needed. Some days I just let it flow from memory of a certain mushroom I found in a certain place. So educational. I would say that the 100 Day Project is something I will do again. It’s definitely dedication.

I recommend starting on a small project as this is a big project. Like make a collage or one painting of something small each day. I usually have spent around 3 hours a day on this. I know more than one expected. Worth it!
Today Bruce is at Cody’s house helping him with work that he needed to do before now. The weather is finally wonderful and delightful. The cool breeze with the warm sun. A perfect 70 degrees outside. Sending much love and positive energy.
Many Blessings my friend,

100 Day Project Scribbles Days 60-70

Hello and welcome here are the 10 Scribbles for the Days 60 through 70. I am now working in a watercolor sketch book but it doesn’t seem to like inks or really wet medium. It does love acrylic paints. This one is one of my favorite doodle's so to speak. If I sit somewhere I start drawing these kinda flowers. Remember the Scribbles are anything you want to do from the simplest mark or crayon slash to a quick sketch or a simple mark making. It’s all good it’s about moving ENERGY and NO MORE JUDGMENT!!
This one was an acrylic wiped paint that was extra and I can’t waste paint like leaving it in the pallet. Then I added watercolors. Posca pens for the leaves.
This one was inspired by a lot of the girls on the group are collage artists and I felt like making one too. We had got all those strawberries that Colby picked up. http://creationsbydawn.blogspot.com/2026/03/strawberry-jam.html
This one was a happy accident I spilt a whole lot of liquid watercolors that I keep referring to as 🫟

This was one of my favorites

I have been just making marks and playing it can be so addictive you just keep painting and having fun no judgment no excuses just fun
This was in our Inner Magic Art Club “spirals” was the prompt it was so much fun and relaxing.

Here again just making marks having fun
Same…
This one was feelings missing my grandchildren and the scribbles was their artwork I put into the background. Like a boarded up window. With lilac background. It was so fun and relaxing it has a bit of new look as the “ink” leaked on it.

Those are all the “scribbles” feelings, energy, and ART!!
Art on,
Mush love🍄,
