A World to Wander

Hey everyone. There's a slanted challenge at The Studio Challenges today where you are to use slants and angles on your pages. I cut the background paper on a slant and tilted the butterflies on my page. If you look closely the stencil pattern on the background is also slanted. I used the Vintage Great Escape collection from Simple Stories for this layout of my grandson. He loves to be outside. There is a little brook beside his house that he loves to through rocks and sticks in for his dog to fetch. For the background I applied a few layers. The first was watered down distress ink applied with the packaging technique. I then stencil stamped with distress paint and stamped with distress ink. Finally I added lots of splatters.Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful

Hey everyone. I have a layout to share that's based on the July challenge at Cuts2Luv and the July 1st challenge at The Studio Challenges. The photos are of my niece on her way to the prom this year. She had to stop and pose with our dogs Beau and Rudy. So cute. I used PhotoPlay's 'Moments in Time' collection for this page. This line is so soft and pretty. The cutfile was from Paige Evans. I used distress oxides for the background and painted the cutfile with them as well. The stamp I used was from Hero Arts. The flowers were made with a flower punch and the white ones were also painted with distress oxide ink. For the Cuts2Luv challenge I used 3 elements from the mood board:

The sketch
Technique: Distress paper
Embellishment: Stamps

The challenge at The Studio Challenges was to use a big shape. I hope a big cutfile can be considered a big shape!! Below are some close ups and the mood board. Thanks for stopping by.

PageMaps' BasicGrey Capture Sketch Challenge

Hey everyone. Here is my entry to the PageMaps' Basic Grey Capture sketch challenge. The pictures are of me and my daughter. I can count on one hand the number of layouts I have created that feature me. When Sam asked what I wanted for Mother's Day this year, I told her I wanted pictures of us. With her schedule and the weather, we didn't get around to it until June. I used Bobunny's 'Prairie Chic' paper line along with some of their Double Dot cardstock. The splatters were made using Faded Jeans and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I dabbed the inks on my craft mat and with a wet brush I picked up some of the color and then flicked it on the cardstock. Didn't completely clean my brushes, so some of the perfect pearls that I used last, were transferred to the splatters!! I embossed some script on to parts of the pattern paper, using a stamp from Hero Arts. The denim and cardstock spiral flowers were hand cut. The denim came from an old pair of jeans of Sam's. I also cut out a few circles and popped them up on the pattern paper. Some stitching, pearls and of course bling, completed the layout. Below is a copy of the sketch and some close ups. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.
