You are the Sunshine in my life Card

Created this card with several things in mind. Wanted to use a sunny sentiment, have the sentiment be the focus & have a sun image so out came an Inkadinkado stamp I had bought some time ago but only used a couple times.

Decided to heat emboss the stamped image using gold embossing powder. Then thought why not mount it on metallic gold foil board but first I scored the metallic gold foil board criss cross to resemble the sun's rays.

The stamped image cardstock is 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" and is a piece of scrap blue cardstock that is double sided and I think it is My Mind's Eye. The metallic gold foil board is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". The cloud scrapbook paper is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" My Mind's Eye Fly A Kite. The Tim Holtz broken china cardstock is 6" x 6" and compliments the blue in the cloud scrapbook paper. The base of the card is 6" x 6" white cardstock.

Added some gems for a bit of bling.

Birdhouse Card

Created this Birdhouse Card at a free Make & Take at Stamp Asylum store. The store provided all the supplies. The company Memory Box provided the theme & directions.

The card base is an A2 sized card 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" of white cardstock already precut into the birdhouse shape for us. 

Used 2 rubber stamps (Woodgrain & birdhouse shape), ink & a brayer. We used a brayer to ink the large Woodgrain rubber stamp. Then used "kiss stamp" technique to stamp the birdhouse shape rubber stamp onto the Woodgrain rubber stamp and onto the white cardstock. My stamping onto the white cardstock was a bit smudged but my daughter said it gave it a more rough natural look.

Used 2 rubber stamps for the nest) & ink. Stamped the 2 parts of the nest one on top of the other onto the front of the card just below the circle hole.

Used a rubber stamp to stamp a perch near the stamped nest for the bird to perch on. Stamp the bird's eggs thru the hole.

Painted the bird (already die cut for us) using 3 Tim Holtz Distress Inks, water mister & a paint brush. Pressed 3 Tim Holtz Distress Ink colors onto mat. Mist a small amt of water onto mat but not on the Distress Ink. Used a paint brush, dipped in the water & dipped into 2 of the 3 Tim Holtz Distress Inks and painted the bird's breast. Cleaned paint brush. Used a paint brush, dipped in water and 1 of the 3 Tim Holtz Distress Ink colors and painted the bird's body & tail feather and around the eggs area.

Attached the bird near the perch using foam adhesive.

Tied yellow ribbon to yellow cardstock strip.  Added yellow cardstock strip with ribbon tied on it to front of card below the bird. Attached "Hi!" sentiment (already die cut & stamped for us) using foam adhesive on right side of yellow cardstock.

When I came home I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink broken china on the bird house edges and added score lines to give the birdhouse depth/dimension of an even more wood look.
