Butterfly Bday Card

My Sizzix BIGkick bit the dust. The handle broke off. Since I have a Tim Holtz Vagabond I went looking for the adaptor shim for thin dies like framelits that goes on top of the base that allows you to cut thin dies. Michaels, JoAnns & Hobby Lobby did not have. Considered buying a new Sizzix BIGkick at Michaels with 50% off coupon. Then I remembered seeing the words 'for framelits" on my Sizzix magnetic plate. Turns out the Sizzix magnetic plate is the proper thickness of the base + the adaptor shim. Came home and tried it out and the magnetic plate indeed cuts the thin dies. It cuts them like butter. Yeah!

Created this Butterfly Birthday Card using white on white with splash of color and a Butterfly die I bought at a craft show earlier this yr & only used a couple times but not made or posted anything with it before. The die has intricate detail so I used packaging tape on it so the pieces would release easier.

Used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die to cut the white layer from a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock.. Used the part of the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece that was left over for centering placement of the stitched layer.

Used TH Vagabond to cut the Butterfly from recycled frozen food pkg that is white on inside of box. There are 6 pieces that were suppose to be cut out on the Butterfly but they did not cut and instead of poking them out I left them because I liked the way they looked still there. Can you find the 6 pieces that were suppose to cut?

Used a Big & Juicy 5 Color Rainbow ink pad w/ a brayer after using some ink refresher on it on the Butterfly & sentiment. Used MISTI to stamp sentiment. Had 2 small smudges near the sentiment so I used some flower gems to cover up the smudges.

No Butterfly photos at this time but have some photos of Bees & BlueBonnets in my backyard.
