dazzling disney shirts
In just a few weeks I am heading to Walt Disney World with my girlfriends for a once in a lifetime adults only WDW trip! As you might expect I am super excited and can't wait! Tonight I created yet another custom disney shirt for the trip! As it is much different from what I normally do I thought I would share some instructions here.
First, I want to say that I purchased the rhinestones, template materials, and transfer sheets from craftvinyl.com It is one of a few retailers that I use for my vinyl supplies and a great source for bulk heat transfer rhinestones.
Then fill the template with the rhinestones. I made a short video on how I filled the template. The video leaves a little to be desired, but shows my intentions.

To begin I designed the template in Silhouette design studio. You need the designer edition to create the templates.
I then cut the template material (double cut, depth of 8 on the blade) and then backed the template with chipboard. You can also use foam core board, but I didn't have any on hand and this worked just as well. I will be saving the template for future use.

Use heat transfer tape to transfer the rhinestones from the template to the shirt. I used my iron to transfer the stones to the shirt- use the hottest setting, no steam and be sure to press for at least 30 seconds on each portion of the design. I use a pressing cloth or teflon between the iron and the transfer tape.

A dream come true digital scrapbook layout
I'm having far too much fun today playing with digital scrapbooking.
To begin I made the layout using silhouette studio and then printed the layout.
I then copied some of the key elements onto another mat and traced around them so that I could cut with them out with the cameo.
After cutting this is what I had. An 8x8 layout and them some additional pieces that had been print and cut using the cameo (yeah, I know that's a cricut mat- but it works in the cameo and I'm out of cameo mats)
I did some selective glittering on the castle and the princesses and the added popdots to the extra pieces and layered them onto the background. Now I just need to go to disney world to take photos for the layout :)

Never too old to be a Disney Princess
In May of this year I will be heading to Walt Disney World with some girl friends. While I have been to WDW several times, I am really looking forward to this trip. There are four of us going for an entire week. This is going to be a great opportunity to experience the parks KID FREE. We have already booked the Cinderella breakfast in the Castle, and we all love the princess theme. So I plan to make a few crafty gifts for the girls. I have completed the first project today.
Each of the cards have glittered accents to add a bit of shine to the simple cards.
I designed the cards in the Silhouette Studio Designer software and printed them out. I then printed and cut using my paper trimmer instead of the Cameo as I simply needed to make one cut on each sheet. The graphics are from Lettering Delights and I used a variety of background patterns including this cute pink castle one that I created in Photoshop.
Each of the girls will be getting a set of six princess note cards. They are A2 size cards each with a different princess. As we are all crafty, I choose to leave the insides blank. I figured these cards could be good for a lot of different occasions and my crafty friends can simply add stamped sentiments to the inside to fit their own needs.

Have a Merry Mickey Christmas
I have to say I just love these ornaments. I made a few this fall for my family and a friend asked me to recreate them for her family. I made a couple of changes this time, and I think I love them even more- if that is possible. Anyway, I was asked if I could share the directions, so here they are.
To begin the process I drew a line all the way around a black glitter ornament with a metalic permanent marker. A small tupperware cup that I had was the perfect size for the ornaments I bought.
Next apply Mod Podge to the bottom of the ornament and add red glitter. Expect to make a giant glitter mess in this process, but it is well worth it!
Add ears- I used glitter balls that are for home decor but they worked perfectly. I used hot glue to attach then sprinkled around the balls with black glitter so that no hot glue would be showing.
Add buttons for Mickey and bows for Minnie!

The Minnie ornaments got one final touch- sequins around the middle.
To do the personalization I cut vinyl using my Cameo and a disney font. As the ornament is covered in glitter, the vinyl wouldn't stick well, so I used mod podge to adhear the vinyl and then to seal them to the ornament!.
So there you have it, a whole family of personalized ornaments!

A vday mail box for my son
I recently bought the cutest SVG v-day mailbox set from svgcuts.com. The set has three adroable mailboxes that are SVG format.
Instead of making it totally girlie, I choose to go with more of a boy theme. I made the mail box base out of green glitter paper, used a toystory print for the accent pannels and then used the Cricut Toy Story Cartridge to make the Aliens. I used CTMH stamps for the "valentines" in the hands of the aliens. Because I cut the Aliens at only 4 inches I choose to draw in some of the smaller cuts (neck rings, belts, eyeballs).
