September Virtual Crop Class with Tracy

Well hello there!  As you may know, I started a new job earlier in the year, and it meant my summer was a little crazy! So it's been a hot minute (three months) since I done a Virtual Crop class for you. It meant I got to play with these beautiful autumn papers from American Crafts!

In this class we make three layouts, that come together really quickly, I hope you enjoy them.

But I didn't just focus on Autumn photos, so I hope this class highlights that you can sometimes rebel against the seasonal themes!

You'll find your instructions here. I hope you enjoy the class, and I am very much looking forward to seeing some of you in person at the Autumn Retreat next month!  I hear there might be a couple of visitors too! 🦄🦄

May 2024 Virtual Crop Class with Ann

Your final May VC class is from American Crafts Cedar House papers which include a lovely herringbone paper which reminded me of school hall floors when I was growing up! The colours are very neutral in this collection which means you can bring in pops of colour with your photo, or using the fabulouse ephemera pack included.

I have made 3 layouts for you which do feature the majority of the fussy cut flowers from the Wild Roses paper so grab yourself a cuppa and some scissors and start with that paper if you don't have the time to do lots today!

Instructions are on this drive Instructions are on this drive - the file called 0524-Ann.pdf

Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend (UK) and see you back here next month for more Virtual Crop inspiration from your Design Team and maybe even news of a summer cybercrop too!!

May Virtual Crop Class with Mel

Hello and welcome to the second class in out May Virtual Crop.

My pages are made with the American Crafts April & Ivy collection which features spring florals and cheerful colours!

The kit included some lovely ephemera which was great for embellishing both pages as well as some cute alphabet stickers with gold letters of colourful backgrounds.

November Virtual Crop Class with Ann Freeman

Well it has got quite chilly hasn't it? But you probably have a number of autumnal photos wrapped up warm, perhaps for harvesting/pumpkins or other outdoors photos or like me enjoying a wholesome and nourishing home cooked stew from a good friend.

My class pages today (and there are 3 of them!) use the fabulous American Crafts – Farmstead Harvest collection which is a versatile Autumnal range.

You can fussy cut the entire foliage paper whilst watching some TV as I use most of that on my pages..then lots of layering a smattering of stitching too.

Please share your pages if you have a play with this kit - I would love to see them.
The instructions, as always, can be found here.

Happy Sunday x
Ann

June Virtual Crop Class 2 with Mel Hand

Hi Everyone and welcome to my class for the June Virtual Crop. This kit was great for some older summery photos that I hadn't got around to scrapping and I had a great time working with it.

The first layout is below and to see the second layout and to download the instructions you can click here.

Don't forget to share your creations over on the ATDML # Create Facebook page, we love seeing your interpretations of the class.

Dear Lizzy with Mel

I had a lovely time at Ann's crop on Saturday playing with the new Dear Lizzy Here and Now collection, I was particularly in love with the gorgeous gold Thickers. (Find the collection including the Thickers Here)

I used them on two layouts, a title for one and a whole lot of them on the other page.

The first layout features a photo which I have wanted to scrap for ages but struggled to find the right colours for. The pinks, purples and blues in the papers worked just perfectly the photo. I opted for a clean and unfussy design to let the photo do the talking.

For the second layout I had a real "aha" moment as this paper could have been made for this photo, I needed the pop of green from the header strip and so cut the equivalent off the bottom edge which gave me the gorgeous strip with all the colours. I was playing about trying to decide which of the Thickers to use when Antonia came up with the idea to use "all of them" - well as many as would fit on the pink section!

I'm a bit disappointed that the gold on some of the thickers hasn't photographed so well but I can assure you that in real life they are lovely.

Do take a look at this months Design Team Inspiration Gallery as the ladies have all been playing wth this collection and the gallery is gaining new additions often!

November Virtual Crop Class by Karen

Welcome to my class this morning which I hope you will enjoy as it focuses on using gorgeous
6" x 6" papers which are so versatile.

I have two very different pages for you, but there will be plenty left for you to create at least two additional pages

The papers are American Crafts and they are just beautiful and, along with a really versatile sticker sheet they lend themselves to all sorts of different pages.

This is one of the class examples.

and you will find full instruction here, as always.

I can't wait to see what you make for this class. Come back at midday for Ann's somewhat spooky class!

February 2019 Virtual Crop Class with Katherine using Shimelle's Box of Crayons

Hello, welcome to my colourful class using Shimelle's box of crayons.  There is stamping, inky mess, layering and distressing with a little bit of doodling too!  There are 3 pages altogether, the one above being the messiest - dig out your distress oxides (or other water-based inks) to create a rainbow effect.

For this page it's all about layering the curves and then we use some stamping to add a different sort of layer behind the photo.

A really nice and quick page with a little bit of fussy cutting, some doodling and hand cut paper strips.

I hope you enjoy the class.  As always do come over and join in the chatter on the ATDML # Create Facebook page and share your creations.

Class 6 RISK with Debs

The themes for these layouts are about taking a risk/‘conquering’ the world by stepping outside of your comfort zone..

My daughter Kate has a terrific fear of flying and yet is determined to travel and as a result is getting to see new places and explore our world with her friends.
And as for the pink hair ...well that’s a whole other story..
Instructions to create these layouts can be found here.

We would love to see your take on the theme so please show us what you have done by uploading to the class gallery on Facebook.
Wondering how to record those special days out? Well then, hang about because next up is Ann’s Zoo-opoly class.

Feeling Fringey!

At the retreat I taught a class with the lovely Vicki Boutin "All The Good Things" papers, I had an plan for what I wanted to do for the first layout and then I planned to use strips of the paper in the second layout to create a stripey background.

When I came to assemble the second layout I just couldn't make it work how I wanted and I got a little frustrated - it just seemed really plain and uninspiring. I decided to get out my fringing scissors and have a play - the fringed edges added a lot more texture and created interest and suddenly my page came together quite quickly.

Usually at the retreat I spend most of the day time setting up classrooms, teaching, answering questions about shop items and liaising with the hotel staff about meals, refreshments etc... but in the evening I usually get chance to spend a little time playing with paper myself. To try and make the most of that time I made a few sketches, packed a few bags of product I wanted to use together on a project and matched it up with photos. This time I knew I wanted to make use of those fringing scissors to indulge myself in a little scraplift.

I love this layout by Paige Evans and wanted to make my own version. I precut the LOVE YOU out of a sheet of kraft cardstock using my Silhouette and decided I would use the Pink Paislee range Pick Me Up (designed by Paige Evans) for my version. On hers she cut the letters, added the fringed strips then adhered those to a background, I wanted an easier option so instead I used the negative from the cut words as a top layer on a sheet of white cardstock. This allowed me to add simple strips of fringed paper onto the white and then add the kraft so that the fringing showed through only in the cut areas.

To finish I outlined the letters, added the words Sweet and Heart either side of the photo and a few co-ordinating embellishments.

Don't forget to share your latest creations with us over on the ATDML # Create Facebook page - we love to see what you have been making.

May Virtual Crop - Class 3 with Mel using Shimelle Go Now Go

Welcome to the last class of the day.

My class uses the fantastic Go Now Go papers from Shimelle and American Crafts. It is a great travel line but as always it is fun to see what you can do with it beyond the original theme.

My class has FOUR layouts (I have been busy!) and two are very definitely travel themed but the other two are not so hopefully there is something in there for everyone!

Here are two of the four layouts - one travel themed one not, Click Here to go and download the instructions and see the rest of the layouts!

Have a lovely weekend everyone and don't forget to ask any questions, comment or share your work over on the ATDML # Create Facebook page.

Appleby Adventures or Five Go Mad in the Lake District.

Hello, lovely ATDMLers, Karen here with a little matchbook album I made to keep a few favourite photos in from our recent holiday to the Lake District.  We all agreed that it was the best holiday we had ever had and so the Shimelle Go Now Go range was perfect to record those memories and I can look back on them when it is chilly outside and I need a little sunshine in my heart to warm up.

This was such an easy project to make that I am sure I will be making many more of these little matchbook albums in future.

Just another manic Monday

Many of you will start the week on half term, with the kids home from school or certainly less traffic on the roads! Here at ATDML we are all systems go preparing for the retreat this coming weekend.
Kits are being packed, instructions are being written and its just another manic Monday.

A few of the team having been posting some sneak peaks of their class projects over on Facebook, giving a tease of what is to come and here are a few of those.

This is a snap shot of the second layout of three that forms part of my Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice class. Just search for Pumpkin Spice in the store to find these papers.

Another of my classes is Echo Park The Story of Our Family and this is my share of what is to come from one of two layouts I will be teaching with these lovely papers and stickers.

I am almost too excited by these cork bows that Karen will be using in her Dear Lizzy Documentary class by American Crafts - how cute are they?

Katherine has also been tempting us with her Kaisercraft Time Machine sneak peak - this will be my first class of the weekend!

And be still my beating heart at the goldness on our Debs Summer Vibes page - papers by Simple Stories.

Mel is keeping us all in suspense on her classes so no sneak peaks from her as yet but I for one cannot wait for the weekend and this Monday can be as manic as it likes - we are just one day closer to a weekend full of inspiration. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled over the weekend as I am sure there will be many photos and plenty of inspiration being shared.

Have a great week.
