A|Muse - Seasonal Branch - Wedding

Happy Sunday!

Today I have a wedding card to share.  Mark came home last week and asked if I would make a wedding card for a young engineer in their group who just got married.  No one was invited to the wedding, but yet they thought they should have a card and gift card for him when he gets back from his honeymoon.

So, what kind of card do you make for a male co-worker?  I went with a set I've had for years - Seasonal Branch from A|Muse, which unfortunately is no longer in business. Since it was a Fall wedding, I went with colorful Fall leaves.  Then, added a couple die cut birds (Memory Box - Resting birds) to the branch and a heart.  It was good to use things I already had and I hadn't used the birds yet either.  The Congratulations is from Our Daily Bread, discontinued, and I think they are now called Divinity Designs.

The ink colors are PaperTrey ink - Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy, Terracotta Tile, Ripe Avocado and Summer Sunrise.  PTI papers White, Dark Chocolate, Spring Rain (birds) and Pure Poppy (Heart).

Blessings to you,
Deb

Our Daily Bread - For Unto You

Merry Christmas!

Today, I have this years Christmas card.  I used a stamp I've had for a few years, from Our Daily Bread Stamps. The set is 'For Unto You' and is a chalkboard stamp.  I made 75 cards this year and started late, after Thanksgiving, so I tried to keep it simple.

I stamped the chalkboard image with dark indigo ink on 3.5 x 4.25" white cardstock, then trimmed the image to an equal white border.  Tied a white ribbon around the base card and added the image panel.  Lastly, I added the gem over the center of the star in the image.  It went pretty quick with my husbands help with assembly and getting the envelopes ready with address labels and stamp.

Cardstock - PTI Dark Indigo and White
Ink - PTI Dark Indigo
Darice Clear Crystal Gem
1/4" White grosgrain ribbon (Papermart.com)

Wishing you a Christmas and New Year filled with
Jesus' goodness, peace, comfort and Love.

Thanksgiving 2014

Happy Thanksgiving!

I had grand plans this year to hand color and add stitching to my Thanksgiving cards this year. Sadly, I only got 10 done, however that was enough for the Homebound ministry this month.

The set is Thankful Song from Our Daily Bread Stamps.  I used the verse inside the card.
F480 - THANKFUL SONG

The image was colored with Copic marker (E31, E33, E35, E37, YR12, YR16, YR18, R24) and the background is blue chalk. The cardstock is PTI Terracotta Tile, Vintage Cream and Dark Chocolate.  I added some stitching with my sewing machine and ivory thread.  The twine is from Fun Stampers Journey.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Blessings,
Deb

Thanksgiving Card 2013

Hi All,

Just a quick post.  I had a day off work Monday and managed to get my Thanksgiving cards designed and made. I made 30 total, which felt like I really accomplished something, now to get them addressed and sent.

This card combined 2 stamp sets The Crafts Meow "As We Gather Together" (pumpkin, turkey and sentiment) and Our Daily Bread "Autumn Blessings" (acorns and leaf).

I found this great sketch from Unscripted Sketches and thought the layout was just perfect for these sets.

Sketch Saturday Challenge #267

There is a new sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday.  I have the Father's Day card I sent my dad this year.  It would be a great masculine birthday card too.

The sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp!  The prize is a $25 store voucher, which will go to the winner of Sketch Challenge #267.

All images are welcome at Sketch Saturday, all you have to do is follow the sketch.  Here is Sketch #267 (Created by Jen):

The image I used today is from Our Daily Bread "The Waves on the Sea", which was part of the May release.  I also used the Fishing net background which was part of a Fishing BundleThis card was pretty straight forward, I did manipulate the sketch a bit - shortening it.
To create the sun, I used one of the peel off papers from a pop dot, believe it or not.  I find them all over the house - LOL.  I used some repositionable adhesive to place it in the sky.  Then, I used a blender fluid and Q-tip technique, to color the sun, sky and sea.  You soak the Q-tip with blender fluid and go over the sky.  Then add a drop of reinker to the other side of the Q-tip and create a nice soft wash of color.  The sun is YR21 and YR23.  The sky is BG10, sadly perhaps a bit subtle for my camera.

Supplies --
Stamps: Our Daily Bread "The Waves on the Sea" & "Fishing Net Background"
Patterned papers: My Mind's Eye Hattie
Cardstock: Bazzill Cheddar
Dies: Nestabilities Ovals and Labels 18
