Christmas Joy Wreath

Merry Christmas!

Today I'm sharing the last Christmas card I made this year.  It uses several dies, the Nativity Joy is from InLoveArtShop and wreath from Amazon plus a woodgrain embossing folder from Stampin' UP!

I cut 2 wreaths out of 2 shades of cardstock, PTI Ripe Avocado and Olive Twist and layered them.  The bow and Joy Nativity are cut from PTI Pure Poppy.

The White panel was run though the BigShot using Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The embossed panel is layered on a PTI Olive Twist base card.  Then I added the layered wreath.  The Red Joy was added with pop dots.  Lastly, I added a few red gems to the wreath to finish.

Unity Simple Little Wishes

 Happy Saturday!

Today is day 6 of my 2025 Christmas creations.

The postage stamp die cut is from Unity.  I cut PTI White cardstock with the die.  The stamp set is from Unity Stamps - Simple Little Wishes, which I stamped with Black Memento ink on the die cut and colored with Copic markers.  I gave it a vintage look using PTI Kraft ink and a blending brush, inking the edges.  I added a bit of Copic white paint to the red bulb on the tree.  I love this nostalgic image.

The patterned papers were from a Michaels 12x12 Christmas paper pad from 10-15 years ago.  One thing I have been trying to do the last couple years is to use what I have for Christmas cards.  This means creating more designs; last year I believe I had 7 designs, this year 9 card designs!

I ran the Kraft ink pad over the edges of the patterned papers and the PTI White base card too.  I added a few gems from Amazon to finish it off.

The second version has the reversed patterned papers.

I'm not sure which version I like better.
I know the plaid was easier to line up the image.

Spellbinders Sprigs and Bow

Happy Sunday!

Today is day 4 of my 2025 Christmas card creations.  This card uses
Spellbinders "Sprigs and Bows" stencil set, sadly it is no longer available.  There are 5 stencils and 1 mask in this set.

I started with a 4.25 x 5.5" piece of PTI White cardstock.  First, I used the bow stencil with PTI Pure Poppy ink and applied the ink to the cardstock with a large blending brush.  Second step is to place the mask for the bow and ribbon over the inked area - very important to protect the bow just created. Third step is to use the leaf stencil and light green ink, I used PTI Prairie Grass to create the leaves.  Fourth step is to line up the stem stencil and use PTI Ripe Avocado ink to create the darker grean stems.  The Fifth step is to line up the stencil to add the red berries with PTI Pure Poppy ink.  Lastly, I removed the mask for the bow and above is the result.  I've never used a mask made from the same material as the stencil.  It worked really well, it allowed inking right up to the bow and ribbons.

This card was labor intensive with all the stencils and the mask, but I was really happy with the result.  I cut the stenciled cardstock down to 4 x 5.2" and mounted it on a PTI Pure Poppy base card.  Then to finish the card I added a few red gems.

This card of the gift was the theme I went with this year for the inside verse for all my 2025 Christmas cards...

Wishing you joy and peace
as we celebrate the
beautiful gift of Jesus.
A gift freely given to all people
to demonstrate God’s love,
grace and promise of eternal life,
through faith alone.

 Joyous Christmas Blessings

Christmas Joy with Sprigs

 Happy Saturday!

Today is Day 3 of my 2025 Christmas card creations.  Last Saturday I had a card that used the In Love Arts Joy Nativity die and todays card uses it too.  The multilayered stenciled springs of holly background is what I'm going to talk about today.  This stencil set was a Spellbinders Stencil of the Month "Sprigs and Bow" in July 2024.

Spellbinders usually makes their monthly subscription items available to everyone after a few months.  This set, unfortunately was on clearance in June when I bought it, so it isn't available anymore.  It came with 5 layering stencils and 1 mask for the bow.  I used the 3 stencils to create the sprigs and holly for this card.

I started with a 4.25 x 5.5" white cardstock panel.  The 1st stencil makes the lighter green leaves, the ink I used was PTI Prairie Grass.  The 2nd stencil adds the stems, I used a darker green, PTI Ripe Avocado.  The 3rd stencil adds the holly berries, I used PTI Pure Poppy.   The ink was applied with a large blending brush.  I only used 2 blending brushes, one for the greens and another for the red ink.

The base cardstock is PTI Ripe Avocado.  I cut the stenciled panel down to 4" wide and adhered it to the base card on the right side.  I added the Joy Nativity panel just like last weeks card, with pop dots.  Then added a few red gems to finish the card.

Tomorrow, I show a card made with the springs and bow.

Spellbinders Especially For You - Birthday

Happy Saturday!

Today I made another card using the glimmer Hot Foil set from Spellbinders - Especially For You. This set is a combination of hot foil plates and dies.  I used gold foil for the "For You" plate then used the flower and foliage dies in the set to add some color.

This time I made it a birthday card in several different colors.  Above used PTI Raspberry Fizz.  Below PTI Hawaiian Shores.

The last one uses PTI Sweet Blush for the base card and flowers aand the foliage is PTI Spring Moss. Hot foiled the flowers and die cut them.  I also added a background from Spellbinders called Diamonetta and fashion gold embellishments .

PaperTrey Ink - For the Graduate

Happy Saturday!

Last Saturday, we had the great honor to be at Purdue University
for our niece's graduation.  This was the card I made for her.

We had several graduations over the last 5 years.  So I guess I was thinking ahead a couple years ago when I saw this set on clearance.
I thought it would be perfect for the upcoming college graduations.
It is a discontinued set from PaperTrey Ink - "For the Graduate".

I really liked the border with the "class of" and comes with individual
numbers for any date.  A great all around set, usable for any year.

I added some sparkle with glitter cardstock,
sequins, gems and dew drops.

Our Daily Bread - For Unto You

Merry Christmas!

Today, I have this years Christmas card.  I used a stamp I've had for a few years, from Our Daily Bread Stamps. The set is 'For Unto You' and is a chalkboard stamp.  I made 75 cards this year and started late, after Thanksgiving, so I tried to keep it simple.

I stamped the chalkboard image with dark indigo ink on 3.5 x 4.25" white cardstock, then trimmed the image to an equal white border.  Tied a white ribbon around the base card and added the image panel.  Lastly, I added the gem over the center of the star in the image.  It went pretty quick with my husbands help with assembly and getting the envelopes ready with address labels and stamp.

Cardstock - PTI Dark Indigo and White
Ink - PTI Dark Indigo
Darice Clear Crystal Gem
1/4" White grosgrain ribbon (Papermart.com)

Wishing you a Christmas and New Year filled with
Jesus' goodness, peace, comfort and Love.

Sympathy - Brayer Ink Background

Happy Saturday!

I was looking through Pinterest for inspiration and was reminded of a brayer technique I hadn't done in years with reinker inks and baby wipe.

I placed the wipe on a large acrylic block and inked it with purples, blues and greens.  Then I used a brayer to pick up the stripes and apply the ink to the paper.  Originally I was hoping to create a landscape scene, but it I didn't come up with anything I liked so I just die cut the background and stamped a the sentiment and added some smooth bubble gems.

The mat is vellum, another inspiration from a card I saw online.  I always forget about using vellum, it adds a lot of interest.

In the end this card took 3 weeks to come together.  Sometimes it is just hard, but I love how it came together in the end.

Here is a second card with the background, this one I pressed the paper on the inked wipe so the texture transferred.

Details:
Stamp: The Cat's Meow - Hope Blooms
Die: Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles
Papers: PTI White, Indigo Blue, Vellum
Embellishments: Recollections smooth bubble gems

Sketch Saturday Challenge #294

Happy Saturday!

We have a new sketch challenge today at Sketch Saturday.  Our sponsor this week is Milk Coffee and the prize is 5 digis of the winners choice.

Alex designed this great sketch for us to use this week.
This is a Milk Coffee image Rock and Roll Superstar.  Vannessa actually chose this image to make a birthday card for her Dad, who is a fan of Elvis - well I thought that was a brilliant idea.  My niece was born on Elvis' birthday - January 8th, so this is her card this year.  Also, she is a blonde so this is a non-traditional Elvis.
The laid the image out in Word by creating a square border.  I typed the text in the lower left hand corner then inserted the image rotating it to follow the sketch layout.  The border really helped me cut it the size I had planned for the card layout, no guessing.  I printed a couple more images to color and overlay on the background.

Supplies --
Image: Milk Coffee Rock and Roll Superstar
Cardstock: PTI Pure Poppy, True Black and Summer Sunrise
Copic Colors: E00, E11, E13, E21, YR21, YR23, YR24, R24, R27, R29, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T7, T9, 0

Mabelle RO - Garden Joy

Hi All,

Today, I have a guest designer post for Mabelle.  I'm using an image I won from a hop a few months ago called Garden Joy.  I hadn't colored her yet so this was a perfect opportunity.

I paired this sweet image with a paper pad from Doodlebug Designs called Flower Box.  Love the bright and fun colors.  I used 5 patterned papers from this pad.  I think that is a record for me!  Some were scrap pieces so that is good - using scraps.
When I colored this image, I was preparing to teach a Copic coloring class, it's been awhile, so I've been looking thru techniques.  I hadn't added hatching to an image in awhile and thought adding some to her hat would create some interest and texture.  The hat I'm happy with - the cart - well maybe I should have connected in the middle.

The sun is a die from Lil Inkers Designs, with a gem placed in the center.  I added real stitching around the image and the perimeter of the mat background and to a couple of the pennants too.

Supplies --
Image: Mabelle RO Garden Joy
Patterned Papers: Doodlebug Designs Flower Box
Cardstock: Bazzill Artesian Pool and Tink Pink, PTI Summer Sunrise
Die: Lil Inkers Designs Sunshine
Copic Colors: E00, E09, E11, E13, E21, E33, E35, E37, R02, RV23, RV25, RV29, YR02, YR04, YR06, YG11, YG13, YG17, YG23, Y32, Y35, YR23.
