Taylored Expressions - Let Us Adore Him

Happy Saturday!!

Hope you had a very blessed Christmas yesterday.

Today, I have my 2020 Christmas card.  The last several years my Christmas cards were blue, white, silver and cream with a Nativity or Bethlehem theme.  This year, I wanted to change it up, something red and green.

I saw this "Let Us Adore Him" set at Taylored Expressions and I knew this was the card this year.  A tree with a nod to the manger.  The image is a 3 piece red rubber stamp.  I made it into 4 stamps, cutting the heart from the crib base.
It was precut and shaped in such a way it was pretty easy to line up the verse within the tree foliage, even though it is not indexed or clear.

The tree was stamped using PaperTey Ink Olive Twist ink, the 'O Come let us adore Him' verse and heart is PTI Pure Poppy.  The manger crib is PTI Dark Chocolate.  Then added a gem at the top of the tree for the star.

The cardstock is also PaperTrey Ink - White for the base card and image panel.  Pure Poppy or Olive Twist for the layered border of the image panel depending on the background paper.

I used a gate fold for the base card and added a patterned cardstock panel (2" x 5.25") on each flap.  The card is an A2 size - 4.25 x 5.5" card.  The gate fold was created scoring 2-1/8" in from each end of the 8.5" length of the 8.5" x 5.5" base card (half sheet).

The 12 x 12 pattern cardstock is from Echo Pack - I love Christmas Collection Kit.  I used 10 of the 12 sheets for the cards to make 60 cards total.  I cut strips 2" x 5.25", which gave me 12 panels for 6 cards in each of the 10 patterns.

I saved the 1.5" x 12" strips left over and made some extras cards, adding a some red cardstock at the middle of the gate fold to fill the gap.  A little modification to stretch the patterned cardstock.

Inside, I created a single panel verse, printed on the computer in red
and added a stamped Merry Christmas in olive ink.  Using all the stamps in the set on this 1 card.

Happy Birthday Swap

Happy Saturday!

Some of the ladies from The Angel Company decided to do a swap.  How fun right?  It has been a long time since I've done one and never to this scale - 39 ladies signed up!  It was quite the package I mailed.

So, I created a card using PaperTrey Ink stamps, inks and cardstock - also a new die stack I bought from My Favorite Things.  My prototype is above.

I cut more than the required 39 for the swap so I made a few for myself.
One being a Thank You card (below), which I sent to a friend who had us over for Easter dinner.

Supplies List:

Stamps: PTI “Heart 2 Heart#7”; Happy Birthday sentiment from “Bigger Blooms”; Thank You sentiment from Simon Says Stamp "Brush Stroke Messages"
Inks: PTI - Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse and True Black
Cardstock: PTI - Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse and White
Embellishments: Darice Black Sticky Back Rhinestone, Ribbon
Die: My Favorite Things – Stitched Mini Scalloped Rectangle Stax

Taylored Expressions May Card Kit

Hi All,

Today, I have several cards I made with Taylored Expressions May Card Kit to share.  Here is the May stamp of the Month "Cute Pie".  A really cute set...here is --

I'm really loving these card kits.  I subscribe to the deluxe kit which comes with the stamp of the month, patterned paper pad, coordinating cardstock and ribbon.  The patterned paper pad for May is from Echo Park, "Sweet Girl".
This first one is a simple one, white on white with a few pops of color.  I love how the paper and stamps match, so that is how I chose the flower colors.  I stamped the flower with PTI Pure Poppy and then again with Memento Angel Pink.  The leaves are stamped with PTI Simply Chartreuse.  I cut out the flowers and leaves.
The flower and center are popped with the leaves behind.  I added a floral panel with sentiment and stitching.

The next card is a fun one.  I paired the close line paper with the clothes line image.  I did some paper piecing on this one.  The red panel is popped.  I've seen this on many blogs and I think it such a clean accent.
The third card is a really girly one.  The base card is PTI Sweet Blush cardstock.  I used a scalloped border from one of the patterns in the paper pad.
The dress is paper pieced.  The sentiment is cut from one of the papers in the paper pad.
The last card I created has an S-shaped front flap which was cut with a PTI die.  I stamped the other flower in the set with PTI Pure Poppy ink and cut them out.  I added pearls to the center and a cross stitch floss stem to each flower.

I really had fun playing with set over Memorial Day weekend and better yet I'm caught up on my kits - yay!  Waiting on the June kit to come. :D

Valentine - Washi Tape

Hi All,

Today, I have this years Valentine going out to family and homebound this week.  I was excited to use Washi tape for the first time.  I won this trio of Washi tape in a challenge at Marker Pop back in November.  They have an awesome selection, however when I chose my 3 rolls I went for a set since I had never used it before.

The grid paper stamp is from Taylored Expressions.  The verse is from Biblical Impressions "And His Name" one of my favorite sheets of scripture stampsI've gotten a lot of use out of them this last year.

The base cardstock is PaperTrey Ink White.  The heart accent is a Cricut cut out, then I added a gemI made 25 of these cards in only a couple hours.  Using the Cricut to cut out the hearts all at once was a huge time saver.  How did I get along without the Cricut?

The layout was inspired by Retro Sketches #45 - Love their CAS sketches.
