Little Miss Muffet: Happy Mail

Hi All,

It is Thursday once again and there is a new Challenge at Little Miss Muffet - "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".  Are you ready to get out your Christmas images??  The challenge runs 2 weeks.

This is an image from Pollycraft called Happy Mail.  I love getting Christmas cards.  I've had this image for awhile, so it was nice to color her up and make a card.  The papers are from my stash - Basic Grey "Jovial".  I found this paper pad on clearance a few years ago.
The image was printed twice.  I colored the girl on one and cut her out.  On the other image I colored the mailbox and background, then add the girl image with pop dots.  The snow was painted with Copic opaque white.

Supplies --

Happy Monday,

More "Anything But a Card" ideas this week.  Our hostess on the DDH blog is Stephanie.

This week, I made a note pad.  The covers are actually cereal boxes that I cut to size and covered with TAC More Mimi cardstock.

The inside pages are a 3x5" white paper pad I found at OfficeMax in a multi-pack.  The whole thing was punched and bound using the Bind-It-All binding system.  I added a flower to the front from the DDH set Spring Sprigs and Mimi coordinating ribbon to the wire.

Supplies -- DDH Spring Sprigs,  TAC More Mimi SWIC, Copics (RV10, RV14, RV19, YG03, YG63, E35), 2.5" scallop oval punch, 2"oval punch.

We would love it if you played along! This challenge is open until 6pm (CST) on Sunday, May 29th. Visit DDH and add a link to your creation to our card gallery and you will have a chance to win a FREE DDH Digi!

DDH4 Challenge: Paper Piecing ~ Week 1

  Happy Monday!

Ready for a new DDH Challenge?  Our hostess for the next 2 weeks is Paula- Kay and our challenge is paper piecing.  I love paper piecing with rubber stamps - but digi's?

Here's how you do it...

I arranged my digi images in Word, scaled the images and saved the file.  Before printing the document I marked one corner, so I would know how to load the paper back into the printer.  I printed out the images on normal light weight copier paper.  Then I taped my patterned paper over the image with tape, choose one easy to remove like painters tape.  Loaded it back into the printer - taking note of my marked corner - then printed the document again.

Genius right?  Tiffany Doodles blog has a tutorial.

Then I cut out the sweater.  I cut out the bee too so I could color and paper piece it.  Here are my tools.

I've had lots of questions asking how I cut things out in such fine detail...Mini Kai Scissors - LOVE them!  They are razor sharp and you can turn without shreading the cardstock - great for a smooth edge.  They have a needle point which is useful, however caution should be used with these scissors.

I colored the bear and the bee.  Layered the sweater on the colored image and that is the magic of paper piecing - a great technique!
Isn't it so Beary Sweet?
Supplies -- DDH Beary Sweet; Papers: TAC "Hip Hop" Fly with it collection, Bazzill Beeswax and Great Lakes; Copics: E21, E33, E37, E29, YG11, YG13, B32, B24, Y35, Y38, V09, W1; Mini Kai Scissors.

There will be a second post next Monday, April 25th on the DDH blog with more samples with Paper Piecing.  I will be posting another card idea next Monday.

We would love it if you played along!  This challenge is open for 2 weeks now until 6 pm (CST) Sunday, May 1st.  Visit DDH and add a link to your creation to our card gallery and you will have a chance to win a FREE DDH Digi!
