Matching cards using a 6x6 patterned paper

I used a 6x6 piece of patterned paper 4” on one side and 2” on the other card. I also used the orange-ish scalloped ribbon from Stampin Up. The white zig zag is a border die by Spellbinders. I used an old Sizzix chunky die on the right and a Scrapbooking Made Simple die on the left.

Floral Friday background with Brads Card

I love this card. I finally used my Distress Crayons to make the yellow-colored background. Then to finish the look of the background I stamped it twice with a Love Nicole small dot background stamp.
The die cut is by Ultimate Crafts. I didn’t like the red color of the red paper so I inked it with a Simon Says Stamp ink pad. It took a bit to dry before I could adhere it to the background. Once I did I set some flower brads in the centers of the flowers of the die cut.
Next, I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of buttercream cardstock
with black ink. I adhered it in the center of the card front and tada! The End!

Peaceful Kayaking Card

So this card was made for the Simon says stamp Monday challenge which is more like a grunge type challenge and if you saw my post from last week, you’ll see that I’m not the greatest at it. I’m going to keep on trying.

I made this background with distress inks and water. It doesn’t have as much grunge as others but I did make this card for this challenge. Distress ink and distressed watercolor paper by Tim Holtz for Ranger. The stamp is by Stampibilities. The rub ons are by Making Memories. Thanks for looking.

June Calendar Layout Kids in the Foam Pit

This is such a bright layout but the papers match the foam in the pit. The title is from my Cricut. The vellum sentiment is unknown. There are many scraps of paper. The blue/purple cardstock is from Craft Smith (Michael's). [Is it blue or is it purple? that is the question. lol]
The orange papers have a little more to them. The polka dot paper is by Papertrey Ink. The orange paper on the bottom row from left to right  I have a feeling that the first paper has something on it. The second orange paper is dry embossed with little squares, like the foam in the pit. The last orange paper is stamped with a border stamp by Simon Says Stamp. It's a tone-on-tone looking thing. Thank you for stopping by.

Manly Monday Sewn Banner birthday cards

Cindy Cre8iveCindy

The patterned paper of the blue card with screw heads is by Adorn It. The pennants are Hero Arts stamps and I stamped the Close to my Heart alphabet letters on top of each. I use my sewing machine to connect the penanent across the top with blue thread. The birthday die cut is by Papertrey Ink. Problem with doing these banners on a card is that they end up being five and 3/ fours x 4 instead of my usual 5 1/2 x 4. So I have to make a new card base for them which is something I’m not used to doing. I buy my card bases from Michael’s they come with the envelopes and although they are thin and not the larger pound cardstock they are convenient. Also, I don’t like to make my own card bases. The cutting, scoring is not the greatest on my wrist, then you have color choices, and then you have to buy envelopes. Nah. I’ll buy the pre-made. As a matter of fact, I was running out of white cards so I purchased enough packs to get free shipping from Hobby Lobby. Well Hobby Lobby cards are size 4.25 x 5.5 and Michael’s card size is 4 x 5.5. I should write a post it note on my computer to be reminded.

It's Time for a Birthday for a Lady Card

I have a happy birthday card on the inside it says “Time for another birthday”. I cut out the pink frame with my Cricut. I put black behind it to give it a base. The die cut was too big for the card front. I had to cut it down until the die cut fit the Preston-made  card base. The clock die cut is by The Girl’s Paperie. The letter stamps are by the Close to my Heart. The heart die cut was on the floor and and the white fit well in between the two words. I just noticed that I used a corner rounder by Creative Memories on the card base.  I found some examples on my blog that use a clock and are referring to birthday.  have to do with time This card uses die cuts from the same ephemera pack  Girly card with a die cut from the same ephemera pack . Other similar cards for a guy are in the 3 different links below.

Clearly Besotted Dandelion set with a stamping twist

I'm always looking for things to do with old products to justify the space they are taking up in my craft room.

This stamp set is an old one called Dandelion Dreams from Clearly Besotted.

To get the stamped background I stamped the dandelions upside down to create a shadow around the image. I did so in lighter colors for the shadow and then the dandelion is a little bit darker color.

In the next picture on the bottom left, I accidentally stamped the shadow twice. One light colored and then I didn’t flip my stamp over and stamped the shadow in the darker color meant for the dandelion image. Poop! So I stamped the image in an even darker color.

This picture shows the right upper shadow that did not fully stamp but looked fine when a stamped the dandelion in a darker color.

In order to stamp the dandelion directly on top of the shadow I used some acetate underneath the stamp. The order:
Stamp the shadow.
Place the acetate over the shadow
Place the image face down on the acetate covering shadow right where you wanted it.
Put the lid down on the Misty and peel back the acetate from the stamped image of the dandelion
Probably overkill and not necessary but that’s what I did and wanted to remember.

The last picture of the background before adding the sentiment.

The sentiment is a stamp set bought from eBay

I cut around the sentiment

The patterned paper main patterned paper is by Colorbok

The polka dot paper is by Papertrey Ink.
I inked the edges with pink ink

I saw this idea on Pinterest from the blog and the blog post example is from 2014:

The sentiment is by Forever in Time. I white heat embossed it onto kraft cardstock.

I used a thick ribbon on the first one and a thinner ribbon on the bottom card
The drops in the second card is a border stamp that I used to make my own patterned paper

Sheet music background stamp Card

I’ve been making cards for medical staff, hospice, nursing homes and whoever. I have so many music type cards to share that I will be posting them throughout the week. It’s repetitious but it helps me to stay organized which helps me not to post the same cards more then once.

I used a background stamp by Hero Arts with their inks Pale Tomato and Soft Cantaloupe.
The Chrome Yellow ink is Archival ink by Ranger and the red ink is Schoolhouse Red by Simon Says Stamp.
The die-cuts are both by Spellbinders, patterned paper on the die-cut on the 1st card is by Scenic Route and the second card is Bazzill cardstock.
I used eyelets on the second card and ribbon on the first.

The sentiments, the first card is by Hero Arts and the second card sentiment came from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine and was designed by Simonne Clay.
It's a very pretty collection of sentiments.

Manly Monday Sailboat Party Time

I made this card using the sailboat images from a store-bought card. The red circle was too light so I heavily inked it with Simon Says Stamp red ink. The gold circle die-cut is by Spellbinders. The gold paper is by Creative Memories. The star eyelet is by Making Memories and the sailboat eyelet is by Eyelet Outlet. The blue arrow punches by Stampin' Up. The sentiment stamp is by Fiskars.

Anniversary Cards

Thankfully, I still need anniversary cards and these two cards were so similar that I put them into one post.

Starting with the background, I sprayed Glimmer Mist onto a stencil by Heidi Swapp and then inked the edges with distress ink. The glitter paper is by Recollections, the black die cut is an oldie from Die Cuts with a View and the red heart is a Cricut die cut stamped with a Cloud 9 sentiment with red Simon Says Stamp ink. I think Cloud 9 is a company within Fiskars.

For this next card: I created this background of hearts using the negative of a Cricut cut that I inked with distress ink. The heart die cut is from eBay out of Forever in Time pink cardstock. The square die cuts look inked. The pink paper on the left is by Studio G and the sentiment stamp is by TPC Studios with Stampin Up ink.

I feel like the word sentiment Love is a darker ink than the Best Wishes sentiment. The first is by Simon Says Stamp and the second by Stampin Up. I think it’s time to replace my SU ink pads because the pads are uneven so refilling them has become pointless. I’ve had some of these ink pads for over 10 years. They’ve had a good life. Lol.

Manly Monday Nature Trail Card

The fun antlered animal stamp is by Simon Says Stamp and it’s a Christmas stamp set. The background paper is by Basic Grey but I’m not sure on the other. The nature sticker is Martha Stewart and the circle sticker is by Not So Cute Stamps, which is (was) based out of Grandville, MI. Grandville is 30 minutes away from my house. I had no idea.
