Manly Monday Colored Pencils Bird on a Tree

I made this card for Craft Roulette #258 with the guest May May Helms. The parameters were:

The images are by Maya Road. The tree has a trunk with some bare branches. I had to do some masking to fill the tree with leaves and put the bird on top. One of the parameters was pencils, so I used colored pencils on my image.

This is the background made with distress ink. Thanks for looking. HAGD!

October Calendar Layout Brrrr Mom it's Cold Outside

Today is my Mom's birthday. She would have been 76. After she died in July 2019 from complications of dementia and failure to thrive we held a memorial at the funeral home. Then we did a burial of her ashes on her birthday, October 12, 2019. It was so cold that day that I couldn't use normal colors for an October calendar page.  The patterned paper on the left is by Recollections and by Basic Gray in the Cricut title. Snowflakes by Maya Road and Jolee's. The border punch is by Fiskars. Thanks for looking.

November Calendar Layout Two Little Indians

This calendar layout is from my brother's Nov 2020 calendar. Aren't my Mom and I cute? She couldn't understand why we were dressed this way (costume party at the living center) She passed away in 2019-failure to thrive due to dementia. I miss her but I should say I miss the Mom from before 2013. She's in a better place and I would hate to have her be around when Covid hit America and life as we knew changed. You know what I'm talking about.
The background paper is by Colorbok and the patterned paper frame is by Accord Publishing. Stickers on the side are by The Paper Studio. The wood leaf is by Maya Roads. The word Thankful is by a Lawn Fawn alphabet stamp set. Thanks for looking

1970's Boys Playing Pocket Pages Layouts

In the Groh family, these are the kinds of things done by 4 boys and a husband.

I used stamps by Cloud 9 (boys will be boys) and Deep Red Stamps on the bottom card
The die- cuts are by Spellbinders and Colorbok
The patterned paper is by Die Cuts with a View,
The wood veneers are by Maya Road

This card was an experiment using Close to my Heart stamps Hero Arts ink. Would the stamps continue to have a crisp look on the wood even after it dried?
I think it did. I like the end results.
I made a banner out of the wood pennants by Maya Road attached together with embroidery floss.
The upper stamping looks horrible but I decided not to redo it for time reasons.
I placed small brads in some of the open spaces.

I used stamps by Deep Red Stamps on the card below.
The tag is a Creative Memories punch and I stamp the

Lacy-Plaid Pink and Black Card

This is the first time I've played with distress oxides on the oval die cut. I inked the die cut, sprayed it with water and let it dry before stamping. The patterned paper is by Paper Pizzazz. The black rim oval is by Maya Roads-something I've wanted to use or get rid of. Stamps are by American Crafts and Lawn Fawn with black ink by Hero Arts.
The lacy tape is from Dollar Tree, the two pink oval die cuts are Spellbinders and the buttons are from my stash.

Dragonfly Card

Start with 4 x 5 ½ white card base by Recollections and cover with patterned paper by Pebbles and add a square of red polka dot patterned paper by Recollections. Stamp dragonfly onto white cardstock with Memento black ink and color in with Copic markers. Fussy cut dragonfly and go around the edges with a black marker. Adhere a scallop square wood frame (Maya Road) on an angle to the card front. Then adhere the dragonfly so the wings are resting on top of the frame but body is secured to the card front. Stamp sentiment (Stampin’ Up) in black ink onto yellow cardstock and adhere below the polka dot paper.

Princess Vanellope Cards

I stamped a Stampin Up background onto white cardstock with Worn Lipstick distress ink. I inked the edges with the same pink and Peacock Feathers ink using an ink blending tool (Ranger). On pink thick mulberry paper by Darice I applied Dreamweaver Stencils white embossing paste to a stencil of a trophy. After it dried, I cut it out and inked the edges pink. I found some words in a magazine, which then, of course, I found better ones after I finished these cards. I added the words with Mod Podge and added some glitter on top of it. I got a little crazy with the glitter obscuring the words on two of them.

On white cardstock, I inked up a Stampin Up roller that looked to me like a checkered flag, with Bermuda Bay SU ink and rolled it several times before I was able to get it in a somewhat straight line. Not really but it is what it is. I cut it out and added the border on top of the card base before adhering the trophy to the left.

I printed the image of Princess Vanellope von Schweetz, a racer/glitch in the game Sugar Rush from the movie Wreck it Ralph. I found the image on Vintage Images.org and printed it out onto Canon photo paper. I also printer her out onto regular cardstock and liked the glossy much better. I trimmed down the image and matted black behind it. I popped the image up with 3M dimensional tape. The chipboard crown is either from Tim Holtz or Maya Road. Either way, I painted it gold with Adirondack Metallics Acrylic paint before adding the it behind her image. I added the key from my stash to the bottom.

Birthday Cake. Birthday Time ATC's

I created the background for these ATC's using a Tim Holtz clock stencil. I inked them with a dark purple and then went in and added the blue, yellow, and green, which are all distress inks. The cake stamp by SU was stamped in purple and I added gold Smooches ink to the flame of the candles.

The word "Birthday" is a Maya Road stamp stamped with black Hero Arts ink and the word "Time" is part of a ribbon by Queen and Co. The clock is from a piece of decorative tape that reminds me of athletic tape. I used the Ranger stapler to create the hands of the clock. The purple ribbon was white and I dyed it with either distress ink, SU ink, or Sta-On ink. I didn't have the color purple ribbon so I made my own.

Layered Stamping Cards

This layered stamping is a fun technique to do. I posted a similar card in green HERE

I start stamping at the bottom with the lightest color and work my way up using a darker color ink every row or every other row. I also stamp more then what you see here. Just in case there is a section that didn't turn out well I can trim the paper down to accommodate the flaw. The first card uses a pennant stamp by Maya Road and the other a circle stamp by Lawn Fawn. The sentiment stamps are by Fiskars with Hero Arts black ink. The background paper is an oldie by Provo Craft.

Love tag

For this tag I heat embossed a Hero Arts background stamp using Versa Mark ink and WOW! embossing powder. Then I inked it with distress ink and sprayed it with water mixed with Perfect Pearls.

The flower is chipboard by Maya Road-maybe, that I painted with Ranger's Crackle Paint (Fired Brick). Once it dried I inked the edges with a dark brown distress ink. The center of the flower is a Spellbinders die cut which shows another way to use the smallest die cuts that no one ever knows what to do with. The love sentiment die cut is by K and Co and the rope around the hole at the top is by Wyla Inc. I should have set the hole with a heavy duty eyelet but it is what it is.

I hope the recipient likes the tag. Thanks for looking.

Pretty in Pink Thank You Card

A new thank you card that I hope I sent it to the person it was intended for. (Ugh! I make cards but can't seem to get them in the mail.)

The pink cardstock is a card base by Cordinations. I stamped the Hero Arts background stamp with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with Personal Stamp Exchange embossing powder. The color is called Bridal and I can see why. It has such a elegant shimmer to it. The wood double pennant is by Maya Road. I inked the wood with Worn Lipstick distress ink (Ranger) before stamping and heat embossing it with clear embossing powder.

I hope you like it. Have great day.

Pink ATC's

I joined the ATC (Artist Trading Cards) Swap at Scrapbook.com. The theme for this set yellow and pink. I chose to do a couple of variations of pink but the yellow is pretty close the same.

Lace ATC
I started adding yellow distress ink color to the yellow background with a scallop stencil. It's hard to see. I had to look at my directions twice to figure out what the heck is this talking about but it's there if you look closer. I stamped the lace border by Deep Red Stamps with pink ink by Umbrella onto Recollections yellow cardstock. I matted the yellow onto a piece of light pink cardstock by Provo Craft. The dies on my card are negatives to a Cricut Easter egg cut in Cricut Craft Room.

Art ATC
For this ATC  I used the  back of a Coredinations card that I messed up on. I stamped the Deep Red Stamps circle background stamp on to the pink cardstock with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder by Hero Arts. I inked the edges of the card with pink distress ink and then the tag with yellow distress ink, Both inking of the edges was done with an ink blending tool by Ranger. The yellow cardstock through the center is watercolor paper by Ranger that has been inked with Peerless watercolors. It was a left over scrap that I wanted to use and not waste. The tag and chipboard flowers are unknown however the word "art" is a sticker by Creative Imaginations.

Joy ATC
For this one I used background paper by Best Creations. The yellow paper is watercolor paper (same as above) by Ranger and colored in with Peerless watercolors. The sunburst chipboard is by Maya Road that I painted with yellow paint by Pebbles. The "joy" sticker is by Current and I added star foam dies by Lawn Fawn. The foam is by Tiny Crafts at Dollar General and twine by Oriental Trading Co.

Brrr Layout + Giveaway

Here is another LO from my nephew's scrapbook. I'm slowly moving along with his book. I like to try new techniques when I scrapbook not so the recipient will say anything about them but to keep it more interesting for me. This layout shows different things that only you and I will notice and think is cool.

I hope you don't mind me sharing layouts instead of cards on my blog. It just happens to be what I'm working on. Any cards I'm making right now are for the Senior Center that I volunteer teaching a card class once a month or cards to turn in for publication.

**CORRECTION**
I HAVE TEN ENVELOPES FULL OF STUFF THAT I THINK THAT ANY CARDMAKER OR SCRAPPER COULD USE. THERE ARE STAMPS AND RIBBON IN EACH ENVELOPE. AS I LOOKED AT MY STASH OF GIVEAWAY ITEMS THERE WERE ALL DIFFERENT EVENTS OF STICKERS AND I TRIED SPREAD THEM OUT BEST I COULD. I HAVE THREE LADIES THAT HAVE CLAIMED AN ENVELOPE THAT MEANS I HAVE 7 MORE TO MAIL OUT. EMAIL ME.

**I'm actually looking to send someone that does scrap some supplies. I have a ton of wedding stickers but I also have some stamps, 6x6 pads of paper, there's a small ribbon set, and some beautiful flowers to name a few that I can see from here. I helped clean my mom's house of  her scrap stuff and after going through it I would like to give some away. Plus I've been purging so my give away bin is overflowing with stuff that needs a home. I have those envelopes from the post office that I will fill up an send you. Email me your name and address at grohcm@gmail.com.

Anyway, The background paper is by Creative Memories and I added a bunch of  see thru snow flakes by Maya Road. I also used a flourish type mask by Tim Holtz done with Stamp N Plus chalk and paint mixed together. The photos are matted with Basic Grey patterned paper. The word Brrrr is a Cricut from Winter Wonderland and date by Cricut Craft Room basics.  To finish the layout I added a snowboard stickers by K and Co to the center.

SSD FBF Pochantus

This month at Sassy Studio Designs I am on the Facebook group. Join our closed group of Sassy followers and receive a free image like the one below. This image will be available on Friday, November 13th for 24 hours only.

I printed this image onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored her in with Copic Markers and Stampin Up colored pencils. I cut her down and matted her on a burnt orange cardstock. The wooden feather is by Maya Road and the real feathers are from Meijer. I feel bad because I don't know the patterned paper or the border punch or the compass or the orange floss manufacturer. I hope you still like my card.

Sassy Studio Designs FB Challenge

This month at Sassy Studio Designs I am on the Facebook group. This image will be available for free in the month of November and all you have to do is use it and post it to our closed Sassy FB group.

I printed her out onto Ranger's watercolor cardstock and colored her in with distress inks, water and a water pen. I applied Antique Linen distress ink all around the image so it would match my paper. I used a Spellbinders die to cut her out and while the paper was still in the die I inked the edges with distress ink and an ink blending tool.

The background paper is by Bazzill and the jute is by Tim Holtz. The sunflower button is from my stash  and the wood feather is by Maya Road. I also adhered a real yellow feather however the button covers it up. The sentiment die was cut out using my Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge. The sentiment stamp is by Papertrey Ink and the ink is by Stampin Up.
