GDT Project for Relatively Thoughtful - Simple Desk Calendar

Today it's my turn to share another Guest Designer project for Relatively Thoughtful:

I decided to make a very simple desk calendar which would be ideal for quick Christmas gifts.

Here's another view of the side of the calendar to show the construction:

And here's the front of the calendar:

The base was cut from pink card and measures 12cm by 28cm.  With the longest side at the top, score at 12cm, 14cm and 16cm and then fold the score lines in the middle to form the little stand as you can see in the photo.

I then used a layer of white card to make the patterned paper 'pop'.

The floral paper is from the Walter Crane 'In the Garden Collection':

The collection is available here

I wanted a quotation to go with the beautiful paper and for this I used the 'Sherlock Holmes Evidence Pack A4 Cutting Collection':

You can find this collection here.

I die cut the sentiment with a Stampin' Up die and cut the mat to go with it and then a piece of card to go under the little calendar pad.

I would like to enter my project in the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday - anything goes
