Thanks A Bunch-SSS46

I really love this High Hopes bunny and thought it worked perfectly for the card I needed to make.  Our play school received a much needed donation and this is the card we will be sending to the generous donor.

20100308_2

I once again used this weeks fabulous sketch from The Sweet Stop, gosh I love their sketches! I used my fun Martha grass punch, love that thing.  You can't see it a bunch on the mid border but you can on the bunny.

Thank you so much to all of you that left such great comments on my first Karen's Doodles DT card. I sure hope you can play along with us this week for our first challenge as the prize is just too good to pass up!  Not to mention, Karen has a fabulous sale going on right now...check it out:
Well I am off first thing to sort cookie dough.  We had a fundraiser for playschool and the dough is in.  My Mom is then coming out to pick up all of the dough she sold to her co-workers for us and for my sisters as well. I really don't need 51 tubs of cookie dough in my freezer..not to mention I don't have room!!  We are going to have to put some in my FIl's freezer as well, but only for a day or 2 and we'll have it all delivered.

I have some fun news to share with you...but I'm going to wait until tomorrow!!

Hugs,

Kelly

Rockin Birthday!

I had this card all done to enter in last weeks High Hopes Challenge, had it photographed and everything and then I got running around, doing my Fairy Fun Friday card, went shopping yesterday with Kirsten for fabric for her figure skating outfit and totally forgot about it! Anyway, here it is, better late than never right!

January8_2010_HH#57

I made this for a birthday party Landon is invited to tomorrow after playschool for his friend Kaylee (I did a set of letters for her and her sister here).   I used Singing Katrina from High Hopes for my image and of course colored her in with my Copics.  I did add some sparkle to her microphone and buckle.  The fun papers are from DCWV.

Off I go to get the ironing done for the week...I iron shirts for Lance and Landon for the week...Landon "needs" to have an ironed shirt for playschool, ya know you gotta look good when you're 4!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Distress Ink Snow Family-FS#78, Nov MCKC

I know you have heard this before but, my gosh do I love this paper! I have for you another card made for the Monthly Card Kit Club and here it is.

November17_2009_FS#78_MCKC

Now, please be kind...this is my first attempt at coloring with Distress Inks...I am happy with the way it turned out but definitely need practice.  All of the fun, fun papers and cs, flowers and brads are from the November Kit and the image is High Hopes.   I added stickles around the cute little snow family and then around the nestie border too!

I used this week's sketch from over at Friday Sketchers for my layout, oh how I would love the Special Edition Ornament stamps from Elizabeth Bell!!

Landon and I are off to town for groceries and such today, so I better get a move on it!  Thanks for stopping by!

Roundin' Up Some Winter Wishes-DDCC#64, ASFOS #76, HH #51

This one's workin' for me for 3 different challenges! I love it when things work out and challenges can be combined, there are so many great challenge blogs out there but not enough time to do them all;-)

So first off, it's Dutch Dare Card Challenge time and we are asking you to use "felt" on your project for this challenge. Then onto the High Hopes Challenge #51 this week which is to use Snowflakes (and of course a HH image) and then last but certainly not least is the great sketch by Sonja over on the A Spoon Full of Sugar
blog.

Nov5_2009_DDCC#64_ASFOS#76_HHSnowflakes

All paper is from CTMH as is the pretty Twilight snowflake, the 2 white snowflakes are from SU!  I ran the main image piece through my CB for a snow effect, thanks Cindy, you're the best at it!  My papers have snowflakes on them as well as the "felt" snowflakes, my image is from High Hopes, a cute Cowboy Snowman.  I added stickles for some snow as well as the senitment which is from High Hopes as well.

Kirsten is starting singing club today and she is so excited!  I bought her a cute little top (we'll go shopping together for the bottoms as I found a cute velvet skirt, but she's not really a skirt girl, so we'll see) that is ivory satin with a small ruffle on either side of the button placket and sparkly silver buttons for her to wear for when they sing at the Christmas concert and they also carol around town too.

Thank you for taking the time to stop and visit me today!

Thanks a Bunch!

Finally I can share with you my very first custom made project. I was so excited when Kirsten's dance teacher (she isn't in dance anymore, but was for 2 years) Barb saw my projects on my Facebook page (that I post from Networked Blogs) and asked me to make a card for the lovely gal (also, my good friend Nikki!) that looks after her son while she is teaching dance.

So here is the Thanks You card I made as part of this project. I also made a gift certificate and printed and laminated a picture of her little guy with a magnet back for Nikki to put on her fridge and then just added some bananas to the envelope to make it all coordinate. The card is from Bryce so that's why I went with this theme instead of something girly and flowery, and I think it works perfectly!

October17_2009_ThanksABunch

The image is from High Hopes as are the bananas and then I just typed the sentiment and printed it out. All paper is from CTMH Animal Crackers and images were colored with Copics.

Oh yes, Rascal Flatts and Darius Rucker was Tuesday night and was it awesome!!!  Here's a couple picts my sister took...

Birthday Boy-Unscripted Sketch#27

Well I still don't have confirmation that my recipient of the custom made project has received it, so I am going to go ahead and share a card I made for the birthday party Kirsten was at yesterday.

October24_2009_unscripted#27

I used all SU paper, the cute dino guy is from High Hopes and buttons are from CTMH. I also used some Twinkling H2O's, love those!

I did find another new to me sketch blog...Unscripted Sketchesand used the sketch #27 which was from last week, but I liked the payout and thought it worked well for my image. I did add the sentiment to the front as well.

That's all for me for today, thank you for stopping by! We are having a relaxing Sunday and I hope you are too!

Birthday Buzzard Birthday Wishes-CP33

It seems like it's been ages since I updated my little ole blog...life ran away on me this past week. Landon started school on Monday and goes both Mon & Wed, I have a fitness class I attend both days while he is at school as well. I have also just started a photography course which is on Monday nights, busy Mondays I tell ya! My parents came out on Friday to pick the kiddos up for a sleepover while Lance and I went out for a fabulous dinner and then to see Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban in Calgary. It was an amazing concert!! We were lucky enough to have a wonderful sleep in on Saturday morning as well, my Mom and Dad brought the kiddos back around 1pm, so it was great. Now I have a wicked sinus headache and it's driving me nuts, hope it goes away soon!

Anyway, tomorrow (Monday) is my FIL's birthday and we are all going for supper so I thought I better get a card made for him. I used Sketch # 33 from the Card patterns blog for my layout (just added the sentiment circle).

I really love this fun High Hopes Birthday Buzzard for a man's card and so I went with him. I got this guys directly from High Hopes, but they only sell to wholesalers now, so you can always check Bunny Zoe's Crafts or Stamp and Create. If they do not currently have a HH image you are looking for, just shoot them an email, both gals are fabulous so I'm sure they'll hook you up.   Anyway, onto the rest of my card...I used some fun Chatterbox papers, ribbon from Taylored Expressions and I added some dimensional glaze (I used CTMH Liquid Glass) to the balloons and some glitter to the hat and ribbon/bow with Baby Blue Spica Glitter Pen. The sentiment is from SU and my funky watermark is also available in rubber.

I used this fun sentiment on the inside (sorry I forgot to take a pict) from River City Rubber Works.  My FIL has a pretty good sense of humor, so I think he'll get a kick out of it!

Anyway off I scoot tonight...tomorrow is a busy day!  Thank you for taking the time to visit!

You Rock!-AMYRS71-HH#39

Well I am lucky enough to be able to use this pattern paper to qualify for the challenge this week over on the High Hopes blog. I used Amy's sketch for the layout and of course the fabulous rockstar and sentiment are from High Hopes.

I used CTMH, TLC and DCWV papers and added some glitter to her funky microphone and belt buckle. I think she looks pretty cute! I made this for my friend Karen's 5 year old daughter whose birthday is actually today, Happy Birthday Hailey!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! We just finished watching the semi finals of the Calgary Stampede rodeo and then the finals will be on in 90 minutes and then the chuckwagon finals...looks like a tv night tonight!

A Pajama Party-High Hopes #38- AMRYTFS3

Lance went roping this morning for a while so I had a chance to get a card made! I made this one for the High Hopes Challenge # 38 brought to us by Crissy and the challenge is to use Lots and Lots of Polka Dots! I also used the sketch from Amy's Prarie Paper and Ink that is actually created by Tammy Fielder of Layout In The Sun. A fun sketch for sure although I had some trouble with it, but I will be using it again for sure!

I used a super cute stamp (as well as the sentiment) from High Hopes called Crissy's Snuggle Bear. All paper is from SU and definitely full of polka dots!

Hope you're having a fabulous Sunday, thanks for stopping by!

First Official Dutch Dare Challenge

I was super excited when Karin asked me to join the Dutch Dare DT! So today is my first creation as part of the team!! This week is a great color inspiration challenge and here is my take on it:

I used CTMH's Emporium paper which I love and coordinating CS. The fabulous flower is from High Hopes and I popped up the center and the leaves for some fun dimension. I added some glitter to the leaves with Shimmerz and then used my pink and yellow Spica glitter pens for some shimmer on the flower as well. Here's a close up.

Luckily for me, this card will work for a few other challenges this week as well...it wasn't planned that way though, honest! So here it goes:

Dutch Dare #53-Color Inspiration

Truly Scrumptious #9-Sketch & altered flower

High Hopes #35- Lotsa Circles

Roses on Paper- you need to participate in another blog's challenge AND be sure to incorporate FLOWERS as part of the ROP challenge.

Today is my Mom's birthday, so the kiddos and I are headed over for a visit. The wee tiny screw fell out of one of the arms on Kirsten's glasses, so I need to get that fixed as well. We are also going to visit my Uncle who just got out of the hospital and the kids are excited to see him. It'll be a busy couple of days, but fun for sure!

Thanks for poppin' in...300 posts later yay!!

Hugs,

Old Buzzard

Well yesterday was my Dad's birthday and we went over for a visit and supper. Lance got all of the yearlings hauled on Friday, so he was able to come with us which was nice. We stopped in town first to get Kirsten and Landon a baseball glove, bat and ball, so now they are all ready for T-Ball tomorrow night. Landon is officially too young to play, but we can still play around at home with him, so it should be fun. I played ball for a few years and loved it, so I hope they enjoy it like I did. Kirsten got a pink bat and 2 pink balls, so she is all set!!

I made this card for my Dad. I don't have the sentiment that goes with it, "Ya Old Buzzard", so I didn't put anything on the outside, but I did put a sentiment on the inside that I got from River City Rubber Works with my secret santa gift cert from my SBS sister. Everyone got a kick out of it too, but I definitely think you need to give it to the right person....not everyone would find it funny!!

So here is the outside...using High Hopes Buzzard

I used BG Marrakech Papers and buttons, SU Pacific Point and Chocolate Chip cs and some hemp twine from CTMH. Cut most of my circle with my nesties and then left the balloons out, covered them in liquid glass and stacked 2 scallop circles to mat it on.

Here is the inside...simple enough, but thought it worked well for a "guy" card...

Kirsten wasn't feeling great yesterday and not really today, so we've just been laying low. We just got up from a great snooze and this is her second one today, so I hope she is feeling better!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!

Happy Easter-SSSC10 & ASFOS #44

Ya, I finished a card and it works for 2 challenges. Over at A Spoon Full of Sugar, the challenge this week is to make an Easter card, so it works for that, plus I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #10 for the layout!!

I used a cute bunny from High Hopes (the sentiment is from HH as well)and some left over Imaginisce-For Peep's Sake paper, love that stuff!

Really short and sweet today, I need to jump in the shower and get ready to head over to Okotoks to my parents. Later this afternoon we'll head into the city to do some shopping. I am hoping to get to a Michaels and check out what`s new...I never go so there should be some fun goodies. I am also in desperate need of some EZ Mount to get my Magnolia Spring Kit mounted so hopefully my LSS will have some in stock...crossing my fingers!

Hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for taking the time to visit:-)

Let Your Light Shine-SC220

Well I am a week late on this as I should be getting the email notice anytime that the new sketch has been posted over at SCS, but I liked this one so I wanted to finish it up anyway. I used my new My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow paper and I love it. This is one of the new High Hopes images, Jenny's Glow Bugs as well as the sentiment and I love them too. Jenny is so cute!

I colored everything in with my Copics, added liquid glass to the jar, used my Build-A-Brads for the flower center and the two up at the top and used SU Pastels to sponge in the sky and ground. Both flowers are Primas and the brad centers are just from coordinating Bloom & Grow papers. I really love the colors in the Bloom & Grow papers, love those and think I will definitely be needing more...

Off I scoot to bed. Kirsten has school tomorrow and then is off Friday so we are going to my parents for a visit and to look at flower girl dresses for Kirsten. Both her an Landon will be in my sister's wedding in August, so we are going to try and find her a flower girl dress. She has picked out tons online and is so excited to go, so it should be a great time...just the girls, my sister Kristy, my Mom, Kirsten and myself! Landon is going to hang out with my Dad and go in the hot tub, so I'm sure they'll have just as much fun!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Tooth Fairy Box-HH #23~Buttons Galore

Yahoo, I've finally finished Kirsten's tooth fairy box. I used one of Lauren's Timeless templates from Papertrey Ink. I bought a few of them because they are so fabulous and beyond versatile. I wish I had an ounce of that girl's talent. For this box, I used the Captured Card Case template for this box and think it'll work perfect. Maybe a tad big for a little tooth, but it fits the image I wanted:-)

Speaking of image, this fabulous tooth fairy is from High Hopes Stamps and I just love it. The teeth, toothbrush and tooth floss are from High Hopes as well. This week's challenge over on the High Hopes Stamps Blog is buttons galore, so I have used a bunch (well only 6) co-ordinating buttons from My Mind's Eye to go along with the paper from CTMH. I covered her wings and wand with diamond stickles and put a rhinestone in the middle of the wand. I covered the teeth with crystal Scribbles which is actually kinda fun, it's like liquid glass or crystal effects but with some sparkle to it, so it's 3-D. The tooth floss(I cut off the string that is a part of the image and added some floss instead, the teeth and the toothbrush are all popped up on dimensionals.

Here is a side view to show the box a bit better...

Kirsten is pretty excited about it, she loves it. Her one bottom tooth is super wiggly and it's funny to watch her eat because you can tell it bothers her. I told her I would pull it out for her :-) but she doesn't like that idea too much!

The skating carnival went well yesterday. Landon was so tired, he could hardly stay awake for his turn, but they had fun! We are having my FIL, Larkin down for supper tonight, so I should mosey and get some things done around the house:-)

Happy Mother's Day to all of my UK friends:-)

Hey There Ethan!

Over on Lauren's My Time blog, she has a fabulous sketch accompanied by a RAK request and I wanted to take part. So this is for Ethan, I hope it brings a smile to his face and I am wishing a miracle for him and his family. Hop on over to Lauren's blog to read more.

I just love the latest release from High Hopes and these are just a few of them, the farm background, the fence (I stamped in the middle and then masked it and stamped either side, I did make a boo boo so don't look too closely;-)) the little farm boy is Bobby Lee, the bale of hay and finally the grass and posies are from an older release but still cute! Bobby Lee is stamped and colored and then cut out and popped up for some dimension. I left out the little tabs at the bottom left because my main image panel is rather large and they didn't fit. The sentiment is popped up on every level...lots of dimension there too..here's a bit of a close up trying to show it.

Well, that's all for me tonight! We all watched Dancing With The Stars tonight and had fun, it was great!! Kirsten loves the pretty dresses and the fun hair dos, but we all really enjoy it..not that Lance would ever admit that though:-)

Wishing you a wonderful day or night depending on where you may be:-) Thanks for visiting!

Hello~ Mojo 76 & HH 20

I made this card this morning for 2 challenges this week. I would love to be able to have enough time to be abel to make one card per challenge, but unfortunately my days only have 24 hours in them and not 72 like I would need! This card will work for 2 fun challenges this week though. First, High Hopes Challenge #20 is "That Fuzzy Feeling" and I used both liquid applique and fun flock on the bunny's tail, under her ears and her chest.

Here's a close up of the fuzziness...

The second challenge it works for is this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #76 ...and...since it's the first challenge of the month, there's a stamp set up for grabs too!!

We are headed over to my parents today when I pick Kirsten up from school. The kids and I have dentist appointments tomorrow morning so we will get a visit before hand too. My sisters will come out for supper as well, so it'll be great!

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll be back on Friday!

It's Your Day...

...dive right in. I love this guy. He's Diver Dan from High Hopes along with some other High Hopes stamps (corals x 3, seashells x 2, sand dollar, critter, wave) to create the sea floor. There is a sea floor background stamp from High Hopes but I don't have it, so I made my own. Tons of masking and such and I drew in the extra sand hills and dots, but I am really happy with the way it turned out. I know I have been saying that a lot lately, but after all of the masking and coloring and such and I really am pleased.

I used a sketch Marlene had on her blog for the layout. I love all of her work and thought I'd give one of her sketches a go.
The paper is from Breezy Design and cs from CTMH. I colored everything with Copics and added some waterfall stickles to the wave and bubbles. Some highlights here and there with a white gel pen, buttons from CTMH, ran the light blue layer through the CB with the bubbles folder. I stamped the sentiment in chocolate as the edge of the pp on the bottom had chocolate in it, but it doesn't stand out that great, oh well.
I hope you have a fabulous weekend. I hope to get a go on my Ikea storage stuff, Kirsten wants to be my helper, so I am thinking she can sort out some Copics and stuff. I hope to get some stamping time in too!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Wishes From Gavin~HH19

How cute is this guy? I realize cute and dragon probably aren't words you would think of together, but he really is sweet with his arm full of presents. I made this for my cousin's son whose b-day is next week..I hope it gets to Utah in time:-)I used Gavin the Gift Givin' Dragon from High Hopes along with SU paper called Jersey Shore from the Spring & Summer 2008 catty. It's perfect paper for boy cards. I colored Gavin in with my Copics and added some glitter to the bows and his scales with my Spica glitter pens. The sentiment is from SU-Circle of Friendship set and the buttons are a sizzix die (they are in the SU catty now though). I ran the Wild Wasabi piece through my CB with the Happy Birthday folder and used my label 2 nesties to cut out Gavin and the mat.

The challenge over at High Hopes this week is to use sponging, so I sponged the sky and ground around Gavin. I'm not a great sponger that's for sure. I masked Gavin and did my best, even tried adding a cloud or 2 (although it's not very noticeable). I definitely need my practice on this one, but I guess that's why it's a challenge!!

That's all for me today, Landon and I are off to pick Kirsten up at school!

Have a wonderful afternoon/evening!

Happy Easter~Friday Sketchers

WOW time flies. I really had every intention of crankin' out some cards this weekend, but it ran away on me a little faster than I was anticipating.

I made this for this weeks Friday Sketchers Challenge # 40. Now, mine doesn't look totally like the sketch, just rotated a bit. I had the darndest (is that even a word??)time with my triangles. I don't think it would of been as big of a deal if my one paper didn't have bunnies on it then the paper could go whatever way, but since I wanted to keep the pattern the way it was intended I had to adapt my card accordingly. Since it caused me so much grief I didn't really embellish too much, but it will be great for an Easter card for the kids. Kirsten loves it already because the High Hopes bunny is stamped on shimmery white SU paper, so she likes the shimmer!

Off I scoot to get supper ready. Kirsten and Lance went skating tonight and will be home in about a half hour!!
Thank you for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful Sunday evening!
~Kelly
