Lili Of The Valley - Love Letters Owl

Hi there everyone

Today I'm sharing a piece of art I created on a wood slice using one of the new stamps released by Lili Of The Valley last week. The stamp is from the 'Love Letters' collection and I used Prismacolor pencils to colour with.

Did know, you can stamp your image onto wood using a permanent or waterproof ink like Stazon or Ranger Archival ink; then colour with it whatever takes your fancy eg pencils, Copics and even paints such as watercolour and acrylics etc. However, what's unusual about my piece of art is that I actually used a digi stamp and pencils on wood. I flipped the image, printed it out and coloured it with my pencils. I know crazy eh! After doing lots of research I found a way to do this. You should also be able to use paints if you print out using an Epson printer as their ink is usually water resistant - however, I haven't tried this as I've only got a Canon  Pixma printer atm. Check out below how I did this, then have a go and send me your feedback. Obviously you can use this for any digital stamp. :)

Please note that as a LOTV Design Team member I was given permission by the company to use the digital version of the image, as the polymer stamp version wasn't available at the time.

For your information, here is the link to the LOTV Etsy Store to check out all the digi stampsand the LOTV online store to check out the rest of their goodies.
Here's What I Did
First I made sure the wood slice was smooth, dry and dust free. Next I imported the owl into my software program and resized it to fit a 4" x 4" circle and flipped it. I printed this onto a piece of copier paper so I knew what the image placement was. I use a top loading printer (it feeds in from the top) and made sure that the image was sited on bottom of the page, meaning it printed out last. This ensured that the plain copier paper would feed into the printer first, which was crucial for the next step.

Once the image has been printed out I attached a piece of wax paper sufficient to cover the image and tape this in place with removeable tape. I changed my printer setting to 'Photo' printing, and choose the Glossy photo paper option (this ensured that the ink stayed wetter for longer). I put the paper back into the printer ensuring the wax paper was going to be the last thing to print out, and pressed print.

The next step was crucial, I very carefully removed the wax paper from the copier paper and placed it face down onto the wood slice. I made sure that I did this confidently so as to not move or smudge the image once it was down. Whilst keeping the paper in place with one hand, I carefully pressed and smoothed out the lines of the image (from the centre outwards), I just used my fingers (but I did use an old credit card on another image). Keeping the paper in place I lifted a corner of the paper to check everything was ok, as the transfer only takes a few seconds. Once I was happy with everything I removed the wax paper. I wiped over the surface of paper with a paper towel just to make sure there was no ink residue left, as this can be reused again, and again. The image instantly dried onto the wood, so I coloured the image in using my pencils. To finish off  I added a little glitter to the heart, a printed out sentiment and a little bow. FYI - if I was planning on giving this away I would probably spray it with varnish to protect it.

If I get enough requests I will create a proper handout using this method. :)

Lili of the Valley - Tea Time Party #4

Hi everyone

Happy Monday, today I have another of the sweet 'Teatime Party Initials' digi stamps from Lili Of The Valley, as you can tell I love this collection. I think the collection is so cute and so versatile, they look perfect with or without a sentiment and can be combined together.  There is also a set which includes lots of extra sweet rabbits and mice and more.  For my card today I chose the letter 'V' and Prismacolour pencils to colour with.

FYI, if you struggle using digi stamps or haven't got a suitable software package on your computer then why not check out my 'Tutorials' page on this blog or in the 'Files' section on the 'We Love Lili Of The Valley' facebook group (if you are a member). I have written 4 pictorial tutorials on how to download a free software program called WPS Office and then how to use it with digi stamps.

For your information, here is the link to the LOTV Etsy Store to check out all the digi stampsand the LOTV online store to check out the rest of their goodies.

Here's What I Did
First I added a piece of pretty pink heart paper to the front of a 6" x 6" white card blank, leaving a slim border around the edge. In the centre of the card front a thin die cut square border frame was added.

Using my graphics software I imported the sweet 'V' image with the little mice along with a sentiment from a previous collection, I resized then both to fit my project. The image was printed directly onto colouring paper, and die cut it into a circle. The image was coloured in using Prismacolor pencils and mounted onto a fancy die cut circle mat. Funky foam was glued to the back of the topper and attached to the centre of the card front, in the middle of the square frame.

To finish the card I added plus a few pearls in different sizes.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Letter 'V' Teatime Party Initials
Sentiment Handwritten Phrases
Teatime Party Initials - Full 26 letter Alphabet Bundle
Tea Party - Extra Stamps

Prismacolour Pencils:

Lil Of The Valley - 'Old but New' Stamps #2

Hi everyone

I hope you're all keeping safe and healthy, and now starting to venture out. I've had some strange experiences over the past week, which really shouldn't be weird but just feel that way eg having my hair cut and coloured for the first time in 4 months, travelling in a car with my friend (be it with a face mask on) and going out for lunch. I have to admit to feeling pretty vulnerable and scared to start with, but felt happy that I did it. Anyhow make sure you continue to stay safe and healthy. x

Right, onto my card for today. The one I'm sharing with you was made using 2 previous launched digi stamps from Lili Of the Valley (LOTV). Both stamps were launched about a month ago and are available in their Etsy shop (link below). Today's card is a CAS one using the 'You Are My Sunshine' stamp, which I coloured with Prismacolor Pencils (no blender).

Here is the link to the LOTV Etsy Store to check out all the digi stamps and products availableand the LOTV online store to check out the rest of their goodies.

Here's What I Did
To start with I totally covered the front of a 6" x 6" card blank with some beige dotty paper.

Using my graphics software I imported the cute little bear image and a sentiment into it, then resized it to fit my project. The image was printed directly onto colouring cardstock and die cut into a square. The image was coloured in using pencils and mounted onto a brown scalloped die cut mat; funky foam was glued to the back and attached to the centre of the card front. White pen was added to the centres of the flowers.

To finish off I added a few gems to the bottom of the card.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: You Are My Sunshine

Prismacolour Pencils:
Bear - White, Cream , Burnt Ochre, Sienna Brown, Terracotta, Light Umber, Crimson Lake / Flowers - White, Lemon Yellow, Canary Yellow, Spanish orange, Pale Vermilion, Goldenrod, Orange, Crimson Red / Stems & Leaves - White, Chartreuse, Lime Peel, Dark Green / Butterfly - White, Lemon Yellow, Yellowed orange, Pale Vermilion

Other: 6" x 6" White Card Blank, Desert Storm Neenah Card, 'Lullaby' Paper Pad (Lemoncraft), Stitched Collection - Scalloped Square Dies (Creative Expressions), Brown Card, Gems, Glue, Double Sided Tape, Funky Foam

Lili Of the Valley - 'Old But New' Stamps #1

Hi everyone

I hope you're all keeping safe and healthy, and you're finding seeing some kind of normality...whatever that is. I have to admit I'm still pretty scared about going out, and won't be venturing anywhere that has masses of people eg pubs, cinemas or restaurants etc.

Anyhow on a happier note, today I am sharing a card I've made using one of the 'old but new' digi stamps from Lili Of the Valley (LOTV). The cute stamp I used is called 'Telephone Ted', which I coloured with pencils.

For your information, here is the link to the LOTV Etsy Store to check out all the digi stampsand the LOTV online store to check out the rest of their goodies.

I trimmed down a piece of red card and patterned paper from the 'Farm Meadow' pad and attached them both to the front of a 7" x 7" card blank, leaving a slim border around the edge.

Next I stamped the tractor onto colouring card and coloured it in using pencils, then highlighted some areas with a white pencil. The image was then die cut into a rectangle and mounted onto red card. Funky foam was glued to the back of the topper and then onto the card front.

The wellie stamp was stamped onto kraft card, coloured in with copic pens first then pencils. The image was then fussy cut out and added to the card front, using foam pads and glue.

To complete the card I added 3 banners cut from green, red and kraft card along with a little star.

CARD #2

Here's What I Did
I die cut a rectangle from covered he front of a 6" x 6" card blank with green card and paper from the Farm Meadow pad leaving a slim border around the edge. Using the same green card I trimmed down a strip of and die cut both sides using a 'dash' die, this was then added to the centre of the card.

Next I die cut a scalloped circle from white card and stamped the vegetables crate onto it, then stamped the crate again onto 'Mask It' paper and cut it out. The mask was placed directly over the stamped image on the circle and ink around it with shades of green. When the ink was die I removed the mask and coloured the crate and vegetables with Copic pens. A die cut inverted scalloped
circle cut from green card was glued over the top.

Funky foam was glued to the back of the scalloped topper and added to the card front. To complete the card sequins were glued around the image and sentiment.

I stamped the watering can onto a piece of white colouring card and then onto masking paper, which I fussy cut out. I covered the watering can with the mask and stamped the wellies. I also stamped the wellies onto masking paper, then fussy out them out and covered the stamped images. Distress ink was apply around the images to give a spotlight. When the ink was dry the masks were removed from the images and die cut it into a rectangle. The images were then coloured using Copic pens.  Dots detail was applied to the boots with a white pen.

A piece of patterned paper from the pad was trimmed down to fit the top portion of the 5" x 7" card blank; the bottom edge of the sheet was die cut to give a scallop edge. The paper was added to the top sectoin of the rectangle. Funky foam was glued to the back of the rectangle and attached to the card front. A sentiment die cut from grey card was attached to the top of the card.

To finish the card, glossy accents was applied to the watering can to give a shiny effect.

Craft Consortium - Polar Playtime #4

Hi guys 💜
I'm back again to share my 4th card using the 'Polar Playtime' (in partnership with Helz Cuppleditch) from Craft Consortium. The collection is available on the Craft Consortium website and in good craft retailers both here in the UK and in the USA. It will also be launched on Create & Craft TV in the New Year (tbc). As previously mentioned the collection has the most adorable polar bears and penguins and contains fabulous 3 x A6 stamp sets, a 12" x 12" & 6" x 6" paper pad, a decoupage set, wooden shapes and embellishments. Definitely check it out!

For today's card I have used the 'Make A Splash' stamp set with the cute seal and little fishes to create an icy scene. I used distress ink for the background sky, and pencils to create the scene.

I've added direct links to the products below, or you can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website using this link here, and sign up for updates on any future product launches.

Here's What I Did
I trimmed down a piece of teal card, which I embossed using an embossing folder. The card was then attached to the front of a 6" x 6" card blank, leaving a thin border around the edge.

I die cut 2 pieces of card into a rounded square - one from Desert Storm Neenah for the foreground and one from strong white card for the background.

Background
Using the white square I blended several distress inks together onto it to create a night sky. I added splash of water all over the card and dabbed off the excess, I followed this with splashes of clear glitter pen. When everything was complete dry, I splashed watered down white paint over the top to create stars.

I die cut a circle from white card and loosely added diluted yellow and blue distress ink to create a moon - I used Picket Fence, Squeezed Lemonade and Tumbled Glass.

Foreground
I lightly drew a horizontal line across the desert storm neenah die cut panel, then stamped the fishes in the lower section of the panel. The fish were then stamped again onto masking paper and fussy cut out, each fish mask was then placed over the top of the stamped fish to protect it. The polar bear and iceberg were then stamped over the top of the fishes approx half way down.

I stamped the iceberg and bear onto masking paper and fussy cut them out, and covered them on the panel as well. On the panel I lightly drew some icebergs in the background; whilst everything was protected I coloured the icebergs and the water with white distress ink to give it a base coat, then added pencil work over the top. Everything else was completed using pencils, starting with the white pencil. When everything was finished I removed the masks and fussy cut around the icebergs. I glued the iceberg scene and moon flat onto the sky panel. The panel was them matted onto a white scalloped square and funky foam was added to the back to give it dimension, then added to the card front.
