Happy Birthday!

Hi everyone!  Happy Valentine's Day!  The boys have the day off today but my daughter doesn't.  I really love days when I don't have to do my hair!  Those days are so few and far in between.  I thought today I could just sit around drinking coffee and not worry about getting all presentable until I realized oh, gotta get my daughter from school and then take her to her after school activity.  Shucks!  Gotta go blow dry my hair and get out of my pjs! Anyway, just wanted to share the birthday card I made for Renate' .  The DT girls over at Yumi and Fumi had an awesome celebration for her.  Check out all of the posts !  This is the front of my card with Summer Yumi.  The bow is mostly there to keep the card closed and look pretty at the same time. The card opens up like so.  In the middle is Lawn Fawn's banner and sentiment.  I used the banner die to cut it out as well.  On the far right is Summer Fumi.  ...

Yumi & Fumi Handmade Challenge #20 Reminder

Hello!  I am back today to share my card for Yumi & Fumi Handmade Challenge #20 -- Celebration .  You can pick any occasion to celebrate.  I chose birthdays because it's always handy to have a birthday card around.  Here is Yumi Peace Sign .  I chose pink and orange again inspired by the blog hop photo in my previous post.  I never really thought about pink and orange but I kind of like it.  I think the colors look pretty on a kimono.  The sentiment and banner are from Lawn Fawn.  I also used my new Sizzix cherry blossom embossing folder though most of the embossing is covered!  And I got to use lots of my flowers on this one. Close up photo. Summer school is almost done!  I can't believe it'll be back to school soon.  My youngest will be starting Kindergarten!  We have been at that elementary school forever!  Haha.  I am so happy that I get to drive to one less school.  Nowadays I gauge my day...

Hello!  Happy Birthday to Yumi & Fumi Handmade !  They are turning 1!  I can't believe it's already been one whole year since Leanne and Renate' started their own awesome stamp line.  So how else to celebrate this occasion but with a fun blog hop! There are a lot of participants for this hop so you can find the master list HERE on Yumi and Fumi Handmade Crafts blog .  Please refer back to the list if you happen to get lost along the way.  All the prize details and blog hop specifics can also be found there.  Be sure to comment on each blog to be eligible for prizes. Here is the photo we used for our creative inspiration.  I love these colors!  So bright and cheery! My card features Summer Yumi .  The sentiment is from Tiddly Inks. Here's a close up photo.  Tried a different hair color combo.  Think it looks okay. I'm going to keep this post short so you can get on to hopping.  But before I send yo...

Celebrate!

Hello!  I have a card to share and a reminder that there is still time to join in on Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #19 .  Just use a qualifying stamp and the colors Red, White, Blue and Kraft on your creations and you could win a prize of Top 3 honors. Here's my creation featuring Yumi .  Yes, it is very 4th of July-ish.  The papers are from Doodlebug, one of my most favorite paper companies.  I love all those 4th of July images on here.  I added some star stickers I had in my stash which I probably bought from Walmart.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches. A close up pic of Yumi.  I'm gonna enter this card into Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge #2 -- Red, White, Blue .  Such perfect timing! Be sure to check out what Denice has created too HERE . Thanks for stopping by!

Congrats!

Hi all!  Sorry, sorry, this post is late!  I think I got preoccupied cleaning and getting ready for my daughter to come home.  I cleaned out her room while she was away.  She said it rained and actually had to buy a second poncho because her first one broke.  Then I unpacked all her things which was kind of stinky since she had all her wet socks from the rain in plastic bags.  And she took over 2000 photos!  Still haven't looked through all her photos.  Anyway, Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #18 is Congrats/Celebration .  There are still a few more days to enter. I used Winter Yumi to create this bright and fun card.  I don't even have anyone to give this to but wanted to use this sentiment from PTI that I've had forever and not even inked up once.  Sometimes I wonder what am I doing buying stuff and never using them?  And so I also dug out that note die from PTI as well.  I think I am doing so much better...

Hang Loose Preview -- Honu Set

Hi everyone!  My daughter is in New York now and I am hoping they are not getting soaked by rain.  They are planning to do a lot of walking in NY, and they already got rained on in Virginia.  I hope the weather cooperates for just a few more days.  The weather is strange this season, isn't it?  It seems to be rainy a lot here too. I'm back today for the last preview of Yumi & Fumi Handmade's Hang Loose Release .  The Honu Set features two honu (turtles), lotus flowers and a sentiment.  Culturally, honu are very significant in Hawaii.  When my son was in the 2nd grade, his teacher explained how she thought of her students as honu and she gave each of them a necklace with a honu.  She said as students, they need to constantly go forward and not turn back just like the honu.  And she had mentioned that honu do not swim backwards.  I was like really, they don't?  Then the principal came in the classroom and said the exact sam...

Hang Loose Preview -- Tiki Set

Hi! I'm back today to preview another new Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamp.  This one is actually a stamp set that has a tiki, couple of hang loose sentiments and surf boards.  You can check out below to see the complete set.  It is definitely perfect for Hawaii. I made a tag to feature the tiki.  The tiki reminds me of chocolate covered macadamia nuts that are really yummy and popular to give as gifts in Hawaii.  I thought this little tag could be added to a box of those chocolates.  Hmmm, I could really go for some of those right now. If you'd like to see more of this set, please head over to Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog . Thanks for stopping by!

Hang Loose Preview -- Summer Fumi

Hello!  Sorry, my post is late!  My youngest turned 5 today so I'm a little behind on everything.  We had a huge chocolate fudge cake that even I thought was super sweet.  Today, Yumi & Fumi Handmade is continuing with the Hang Loose Preview with Summer Fumi. Here she is -- Summer Fumi!  Love her long hair!  The Aloha sentiment is also part of this new release and you'll see more of it later this week.  I've had these papers a long while too!  I think it's Doodlebug.  I also used my Perfect Layers rulers for the mats on this card.  I crocheted the flower behind the sentiment with some twine. Here's a close up.  You might wanna head over to Yumi and Fumi Handmade Crafts to see Leanne and Sandie's creations too.  Be sure to also link up if you want a chance to win her.  See HERE for the details. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hang Loose Preview -- Summer Yumi

Hello!  I am excited to share that Yumi & Fumi Handmade is having a new release this Saturday, June 15th!  There will be previews on Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blo g this whole week leading up to the Hang Loose Release. Today is Summer Yumi's turn to be in the spotlight.  I love her summer clothes and cute hair!  The sentiment and flowers are also part of the new release and will be introduced later on this week.  These papers are a bit on the older side but seem like new to me since I haven't seen them in a while!  I can't quite remember what company the papers are from.  I used my new ruler from Perfect Paper Crafting called what else, the Perfect Ruler , to cut out the sentiment.  The ruler is easy to use and my kids even use it!  I also used my Perfect Layers rulers to mat the papers and sentiment on this card. Here's a close up.  Please head over to Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts blog for more info about the Ha...

Yumi and Fumi Handmade Challenge #17 reminder

Hello!  I think I am behind on stuff!  Already feeling some of the summer laziness.  But the past few days I've been having some mild headaches in the afternoons and evenings so I've been going to bed early instead of doing my usual coloring and card making.  Today I feel better.  I think that afternoon nap helped.  Love it when the hubby makes dinner and gets the kids to take a bath early.  Back to the real purpose of this post.  Reminder time again for Yumi & Fumi Handmade's Challenge #17 .  Create anything for a Father figure following the challenge guidelines.  I used AJ Lion for my Father's Day card which I think is sort of non traditional.  I've had these papers for a while and use them every time I color up AJ Lion!  I can't remember what company they are from. Here's a close up of the sentiment.  The letters are die cuts from All That Scraps and the father's day sentiment is from My Guy clear stamp se...

thank you very much

Hello!  Just a reminder that Yumi & Fumi Handmade is in the middle of a challenge right now.  Challenge #16 is Anything But a Card .  Because it is almost the last day of school for my son I wanted to create a little holder for a gift certificate that I got for his teacher.  Most stores have gift cards these days but this place has gift certificates instead so I just made a little envelope to tuck it into. I made it large enough to hold the GC and also the little beaded apple charm I bought from Handmade Cuties .  The front of the envelope features Yumi with Bookbag .  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and I used purple and yellow since that is the school's colors. Be sure to check out what Denice has created too! Gonna be a short post today.  Still have lots of laundry to do and I need to finish up a few more cards! Thanks for stopping by!

Yumi & Fumi Handmade Mother's Day!

Hello!  There is still time to enter Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #15 to create a shaped card for the mother figure in your life. Here is my card featuring Yeti Yumi .  She was released last winter and holds a string of Xmas lights.  But I thought I could change it up a bit by adding some flower shaped rhinestones over the lights.  So now she could be holding a lei or maybe even a fancy necklace for mom.  I love Yumi's jacket!  So cute.  Not really sure where she could be wearing that to if she lived in Hawaii though (maybe Ice Palace??).  But my daughter is always cold and always wears a jacket so I can image her wearing something like this. Denice has also created a pretty shaped card for this challenge so please head over HERE or HERE to check it out! Thanks for stopping by!

Yumi and Fumi Challenge #14 reminder

Hello!  There is still time to enter Y umi & Fumi Handmade's Challenge #14 -- multiple folds .  I decided to make another flip card from this tutorial that I found HERE .  I used Yumi with Birdie and added a sentiment (a little birdie told me) from CC Designs.  I think the grass might make the second half of the sentiment difficult to see.  Those corner dies I got from Lala Land Crafts.  I've been wanting some kind of corner dies for a while now so I finally caved and bought this one.  And the flowers were from Kim Yu .  She's so sweet to have sent me a whole bunch of flowers for my birthday.  Thank you! This is the inside.  The sentiments are from Paper Smooches. I hope you'll check out what Kim has made too!  It is an awesome card that I'll have to try.  It looks so neat!  Check it out HERE .  Yumi & Fumi Handmade is also having a SALE until Monday so check it out before it's too late!  Don...

Reminder: Yumi and Fumi Handmade Challenge #13

Hello!  Just a quick post to share a little project I made for Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts Challenge #13 which is to case ME!  This is the original project to case.  I made another one with a school theme.  Thought I could give this to one of my daughter's teachers then realized I should've used their school colors.  Oh well.  I cut Fumi with Messenger Bag out with my new Spellbinders die.  I really like this one. I also did a little tutorial of this easel card.  If you're interested, please click HERE .  You'll also see the cute project Kim made.  I love the little scene she created. Thanks for stopping by!

Egg Hunt

Hello!  There is still some time to join us over at Yumi & Fumi Handmade for our Springtime Challenge #12 .  Does it feel like spring yet where ever you are?  The weather here seems a bit fickle.  Sunny then rainy then sunny again.  Right now it actually feels a bit cold! I used Chasezilla to create this fun tag.  He has taken the place of the Easter Bunny and has got his egg.  Hehe.  I tried doing something a bit different instead of just coloring him in.  The tag and the banner is from Papertrey Ink.  The fence, egg, grass and sentiment is from All That Scraps.  The paper is Doodlebug from last year.  I still have some small scraps from the Hello Spring paper pad. If you'd like to join in the challenge, see the original post HERE . Thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a great Sunday!
