Your jokes are always a-moose-ing

Hello!  Just now sharing some cards I made using Lawn Fawn's Dad & Me stamp set.  I made 2 using the moose, one for dad and one for grandpa. I love the puns that Lawn Fawn comes up with -- too cute!  And I love the funny glasses that fit over the moose!  I used a stitched rectangle die and used distress inkpads to create the background.  The sun and clouds are from Taylored Expressions. Here is a card for Grandpa and I used to the same layout and design.  And isn't the baby moose super cute too?  I have come to love blending the background using distress inkpads and a sponge.  It is even easier for me than doing the watercolor backgrounds that I used to do.  I do think blending the inks on thin watercolor cardstock is easier than blending on regular cardstock.  There is a nice texture to watercolor cardstock too. I'll share the cards I made using the bears next time.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'm having a SALE on ETSY!

Hello!  Maybe one of my New Year's resolutions should be to blog more regularly again.  I should also add on exercising again, and following a budget better.  I am trying not to spend so much on too much crafty things. Anyway, I am having a 10-15% off sale on ETSY.  Please check it out if you're interested (link on the sidebar).  I've already adjusted the prices in the sale section.  I even added some new calendars that I just finished up. I used Mama Elephant's Lunar Animals and Taylored Expressions calendars to make these.  On a side note, did you know that there was an error on the TE calendars????  They contacted me via email because the number of days on November and December was incorrect!  Anyway, it is a good thing that it took me a while to finish these because I was able to use the correct months.  But I'm wondering about all the people that didn't buy these directly from TE.  How would they know? Here's the cove...

Grouchy Christmas cards

Hello!  I had a lot of fun at the last craft fair talking with one of the vendors next to us selling fabric.  She is so nice and friendly!  And wow, she sews very well!  I think we did fairly well at the fair.  Sold a lot of cards and sequins and a little of this and that.  Slowly dwindling down on my used stash of stamps and dies.  But I still have some!  Totally wish I could sell them all before Christmas but looks like they'll be taking up some floor space still.  I am thinking that was my last fair for the year.  I'll be trying to keep my Etsy store better updated and supplied. A while ago I hurt my right hand.  More specifically my thumb.  Every now and then the pain comes back and now it's back.  I guess I have been crafting more but everyday activities aggravate it.  Stuff like turning on the car ignition, pouring water, typing, using my phone, cutting vegetables, etc.  Even now!  I really want to r...

felt easter chicks

Hello!  Hope you're all enjoying the weekend.  I spent most of today cleaning and cooking and there is still more to cook and clean!  I finally got around to taking some photos of the Easter chicks I made for my youngest one's class.  I've been wanting to sew up something cute using felt and was lingering on Pinterest one day and came across this site .  Such cute creations but I obviously don't have anything as fancy as that machine!  I love the clear tummy idea so I thought about how I could make something similar with the materials and tools I had. I got my largest oval Spellbinders die to cut out the chick's body and a smaller circle die for the tummy.  The chick's feathers, beak and wings were cut out using Taylored Expressions chick dies.  Then I wondered what I could use for the clear part of his tummy and I didn't want to buy anything extra like clear vinyl.  So I used my clear contact paper.  I just folded a piece large ...

Easter Treats!

Hello!  I had to finish these Easter treats for my youngest one's class a bit earlier since the boys have an extra day off this week.  It's a 4 day weekend for them.  I kept holding off on making these treats cause I thought I had a lot of time since Easter seems late this year but I forgot to take into account the holidays. Anyway, I really like these sack-it dies from Taylored Expressions.  I discovered the Xmas ones too late but was just on time for the Easter ones.  Here is the little Easter chick.  So cute, right?  I fit 2 fruit roll ups in each of these. A bunch of them all together.  Here's the bunny.  This one is pretty time consuming to make because of all the die cutting and layering.  It went faster after doubling up the thinner cardstock to make multiple cuts in one pass through my Big Shot. All the bunnies together.  I made 21 Easter treats total.  I think these are so fun for the kids. Thanks ...
