Faith

Hi all!  Sorry I have not been blog hopping lately.  I feel like I have a lot of little errands and chores to do.  Yesterday, we cleaned my daughter's bedroom although our intent was just to put in a "new" dresser and remove the old ones but somehow one thing led to another and we ended up cleaning her closet and her windows.  And then of course why not vacuum everything since everything is out of the way too.  So that cleaning and purging left me with more laundry to do and somehow led me to start rearranging and rethinking my craft area.  I need to get rid of some stuff!   I made a very simple card a while ago but just didn't post it. This is Faith from Stamping Bella.  I made this card just to try out my new red Copic combo. These reds were a little harder to color nicely inside the lines since they were so new.  I added some Stickles too. Anyway, I have been thinking about selling some of my old Papertrey Ink dies and sta...

A birthday

Hello!  I've been busy making a lot of teacher stuff.  You know with 3 kids there is an endless amount of teachers!  I try not to get too carried away.  I have to wrap a few more gifts and I should be done.  But I'll have to share those on another day.  Today I have a birthday project to share.  It's my cousin's birthday so I thought I'd make a little something for her. I stamped the sentiment onto vellum and used some heat to quicken up the drying process.  I should've left the vellum to cool down a bit before gluing it on cause then it got all wonky.  Sigh. So did any of you watch The Vampire Diaries?  Happy that Damon and Elena have a chance to be together but did you see how sad Stefan was?  I was s...

Thank You Card

Well, I'm watching Glee so I figure I can multitask and post at the same time... I made this card maybe about a year ago. I was playing around with the "Beyond Basic Borders" set from PTI. Took a while to get the entire border strip inked up nicely, it helped to cover most of it with the Ketto from Stamping Bella. The hearts are also from the Ketto line. I had to get the sentiment stamp exchanged, the original one had a little dot on the "thank" portion, but PTI was good about sending a replacement right away once I emailed customer service. I think this was also around the time I started trying colored pencils and baby oil. Still can't really color too nicely...or realistically, I basically just outline the edges or color everything in, then blend. All that I've been reading about imagining the light source is starting to confuse me, maybe I have to take an art class...someday. But at least the Kettos don't have too many parts to color (still so h...
