He Has Risen

What a lovely weekend for Easter.  I hope you had a special time with family and friends.  I spent mine laid up due to knee surgery but was inspired to make it into my craft room and make this card to share.

The Easter Cross, from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps, was heat embossed in white on a piece of cardstock and a piece of vellum.  The one on the cardstock was fussy cut and layered behind the one on the vellum.  This was all layered on top of light blue and a white die cut oval window placed over this.  JFF's He Has Risen sentiment was stamped on a piece of vellum and layered across the center and blue pearls added to the corners.

Have a great week.

Just For Fun May Challenge

May has arrived and with it comes a new challenge at the Just For Fun blog.  The theme this month is A Mother’s Love.  This is perfect for all those Mother’s Day cards you are working on.

I used Just For Fun’s Mother is Born image and sentiment on my card.  I started by creating a soft pastel background, using Zig Water Color Markers on my craft mat, spritzing with water, and smooshing my cardstock in the ink.  When the cardstock dried, the image was stamped in the center with Memento Ink.  This was layered behind a white frame, die cut with a Sue Wilson Designs die.

A layer of bright pink, silk flowers, and small pearls were added.

I hope you can join the challenge.  See all the details at the JFF Blog.

Just For Fun January Challenge

Happy New Year!!

With the start of a new year, we have a new challenge at Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog.  It is “Free For All” so how easy is that?  I, of course, can’t help but think about snow in January so I made a winter looking card.

I had a lot of fun with the background.  Starting with light blue cardstock, different size circles were added using white pigment ink and Milled Lavender and Stormy Sky Distress Ink for the purple and blue to create this Bokeh look.  I have had the Milled Lavender color for years and have to admit I never really liked it so I just didn’t use it.  However it was the perfect subtle color for this.  To add a little sparkle, I stamped the Just For Fun Small Stamptangle Star several times on the background with white pigment ink.  Then it was heat embossed with Sparkle Embossing Powder.

The “snowflake” was created using the Large Stamptangle Star and the Small Stamptangle Star.  Both were stamped with white pigment ink and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder on white cardstock.  This was repeated on white cs sponged with the Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  The different layers were fussy cut.  Using a masking technique, Milled Lavender Distress Ink was added to sections.  The various layers were added to the white base, ending with a small white center and small lavender pearls.

A window was cut from the top two layers of the card front.  This was popped up over the white card base to reveal the Winter Wonderland sentiment from JFF’s Seasons Word Block.  Since the “snowflake” could also be a flower or a star, this card design could be used for many different occasions by simply changing the sentiment.

We would love to see your creations added to our challenge link.  Check out the JFF Blog for all the details and more inspiration.

Wishing you the best as we start this new year!

Just For Fun November Challenge

Wow! It is already November 1st and time for a new challenge at Just For Fun Rubber Stamps Blog.  Halloween is past (barely) so now we can focus on Giving Thanks.

I chose to use the new JFF stamp, Stamptangle Gourds.  They were colored with Zig Watercolor Markers and fussy cut.  It was layered on a die cut wreath from Impression Obsessions Twig Wreath Die Set.  Small leaves were tucked around the edges.  These were cut with an older Spellbinders’ leaf die from paper colored with Distress Inks.

The “Thanks” is from Sue Wilson Designs Expression Collection.  This was cut from the card front allowing the second layer to show through.

Small brown pearls where added above and below the “Thanks”.

Check out the JFF Blog for more inspiration, along with all the details of the challenge.

Girls' Night

I have a simple, fun card to share, using Just For Fun stamps.  The minute I saw the Funky Toucans set, I had to have them because they looked so cute and fun.  I knew just what I wanted to do with them.

They were stamped in black and, after coloring with copics, they were fussy cut.  Then they were layered on a scalloped oval that was run through an embossing folder.  I added a mix of pears, jewels, and a sticker to dress up the birds.

This Girls Night saying goes so well with this and was stamped in Rose Bud Memento ink along the card bottom.

Speaking of “girls”, don’t forget about JFF's current monthly challenge with the theme of “Let’s Hear It For The Girls”.  Get all the details on the JFF Blog here.

Have a fantastic week.

DIGI783

My reveal project combines digital images from the Nasturtium and Nasturtium #2 sets. I printed these out and colored them with Copic Markers.

After coloring the images, I used a glue pen to add Evening Glow glitter to the center of each flower.

On both sides of the longer image from Nasturtium #2, I ran strips of 1/8” Tear-ific Tape on each side and added my favorite Green Nugget glitter.  I colored some white pearls to match, with a Copic Marker, and added them to the top left of the image.

I really love these floral images and they are very easy to color.  Both sets come with great sayings and work great together.

The next stop on our blog hop is Jess
