Summer Floral Cards

I am sure almost everyone is tired of the summer heat so today’s cards focus on summer flowers.  Just For Fun's Nature's Bouquet is featured on both cards, along with some new Distress Oxide inks.

This card starts with a background of Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks.  Using a rectangle template, these colors were picked up from a craft sheet.  The Nature’s Bouquet image was stamped on top.  This was added to layers of green and pink, along with a butterfly border, punched with a Martha Stewart Border Punch.  The sentiment is from the JFF's Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet.

This second card uses the same inks, but this time they were sponged on and a die cut was used as a stencil.  Once again the Nature’s Bouquet was stamped on top.  The sentiment is from JFF's To My Friend Word Block.  Small pink butterflies, created with the same Martha Stewart Border Punch, were added.

Try to keep cool.

The Tea Pot Is On

I have been making several coffee and tea themed projects this week and wanted to share this sweet card.

I am a coffee drinker but one of my best friend’s only drinks tea.  When I saw the “Tea pot is on”...sentiment, from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps, it reminded me of her and inspired this card.  It was stamped with Paris Dusk Memento Ink and layered on white using a Martha Stewart Border Punch on the sides.

The tea cup from JFF's Coffee Unmounted Sheet was also stamped with Paris Dusk Memento Ink on two different cardstocks.  These were fussy cut and paper pieced.  This was centered on a white doily, die cut with Marianne Design Creatables Designer Doily die.  Several small flowers, die cut with Sue Wilson's Camellia Open die, were added along with jewels.

When your week gets crazy, sit and have a cup of tea, hopefully with a friend.

Just For Fun April Monthly Challenge

Where did March go?  It just flew by and today is April 1st and time for a new challenge at Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog.  The theme for April is Springtime/Easter.  Here is my card using Just For Fun stamps.

I started this card by creating a watercolor background, using Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  These same markers were used to add color directly to the rubber of the Wildflowers stamp, spritzed lightly with water and stamped on the background.

The Love U Bunnies were stamped with Memento Ink and colored with the Zig markers.  They were fussy cut and added among layers of grass created with a Martha Stewart border punch and watercolored.  The Jelly Bean was colored and stamped numerous times, cut out, and placed in the grass.  Smell Jelly Beans? was used for the sentiment.

Now it is your turn.  Check out the challenge details here, along with more inspiration from my fellow designers.  Then get out those Spring/Easter stamps and get creative!

Jelly Beans and Coffee?

This is a sneak peak of an upcoming challenge but I made a few fun adjustments to this card for the 2017 Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

I used Love U Bunnies, Smell Jelly Beans?, and Jelly Bean stamps from Just ForFun.  Then I adjusted the sentiment using parts of Coffee Shared and added some coffee beans using Single Coffee Bean, also from JFF.

This is my final entry for the blog hop.  Check back tomorrow for Just For Fun’s April Challenge.

A Grillin' Good Time

What are you doing for the 4th of July?  This is such a fun time for family and, of course, grilling out.  Sparkle N Sprinkle’s Summer Grilling Set #1 and Summer Grilling Set #2 are all about this.  I used the digital versions to create this card.

Both sides of a piece of white cardstock were punched with a Martha Stewart star border punch and adhered to a slightly larger piece of sticker paper.  Gypsy Red Velvet Glitter was added to the exposed adhesive on one side and Cobalt Glaze Velvet on the other side.  This was layered onto the card front.

Another piece of white cs was cut to fit just inside punched borders.  A circle shaped window was cut out using a Spellbinders die and a star shaped window was cut out using a Sizzix star die.

Strips of 1/8” "Tear-ific" Tape were run across a piece of Embossable Clear Acetate, the protective layer removed, and Black Suede Velvet Glitter was added.  This was adhered behind the circle window to look like a grill.  The little BBQ bottle from the Summer Grilling #1 digital set and the Oven Mitt from the Summer Gilling #2 digital set were printed, colored, and fussy cut.  These were added to the side of the grill.

More acetate was added behind the star window and a small shaker was created behind it with the printed sentiment from the Summer Grilling #2 digital set and blue and red sequins.  Additional sequins were glued to the card front.

Have a safe 4th!!
