Perk Up Soon

The 2017 Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop started yesterday and since I am a loyal coffee drinker, I have been working on several cards for this event.  I will be sharing these with you in the next few days, starting with today’s card.

I used this fun, older set from Whimsey Stamps that I purchased during the last hop.  I used a variety of coordinating cardstock to create the little flags and layered them on sparkly green polka dot cs.  All the edges were inked with a mix of Abandoned Coral and Festive Berries Distress Ink.  This was also sponged on the edges of white cs to create the layer and to color the Memory Box Loopy Loop die.

I enjoyed creating this colorful coffee themed Get Well card.  Check back tomorrow for more.

Let's Negotiate!

Time for another Christmas card idea, using the Christmas Goose stamp set. He’s a fun little character and I used the digital version for my card.

I colored him with alcohol markers and die cut him with Spellbinders’ Wonky Rectangles, sponging ink around the edges before removing it from the die. This was layered on a slightly larger red die cut with Firecracker Red embossing powder added to the edges using the Distressed Embossing Powder technique. This is added to the card front that is layered with designer paper and red cardstock, also edged with the Firecracker Red EP. A little sparkle was added to the lightbulbs on the designer paper and the goose image, using a glue pen and Sparkle EP.

The sentiment was handled the same as the image and popped up with dimensional tape. Mini Christmas Bulb garland was wrapped around the sentiment and the bottom of the card.

Your How Old?

Have you seen the new chick sets, Cool Chicks and Birds of a Feather, that were just released.  These sweeties are irresistible.  I had so much fun with these and thought I would share a simple card using the Cool Chicks digi version.

One of the great things about digi stamps is they can be printed out at any size.  I designed the card with the images on my computer and printed it out for my card front.  I colored the three birds with alcohol markers and ran it through an embossing folder.  This was layered on the white card base and then Dimensional Glue was run around the edges and covered with Sun Dazzle Sparkle N Soft.

I ran dimensional glue around the edges of the sentiment, covered it with Sun Dazzle Sparkle N Soft, and popped this up in the center of the card front.  After printing this little guy three more times, they were colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.  I also added a little Sun Dazzle Sparkle N Soft on the wings and tails, using a glue pen.  Then I used more dimensionals to pop the little chicks over the original images around the sentiment.  Of course, I had to add some wiggle eyes.

Hope things are cooler in your area than they are in mine. Have a great week.

Both of these sets are so adorable and fun to play with so it was hard to choose one project to share.  I used the digital sets for my cards and actually set it up on my computer first to determine the size I wanted to print.  This is the fun of digital – you can use any size to make what you want.

I printed three different birds from both sets two times on white cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers.  I die cut one of each with Spellbinders’ Circle dies.  These were layered on slightly larger circles of sticker paper and Cherry Lemonade glitter was added to the remaining exposed adhesive.  I fussy cut the bodies of the three remaining images, popped these on top, and used a glue pen to add Raspberry Soda and Sunny Daze glitter to the accessories.  The three circles were popped up on the embossed card front (who could resist using a chicken wire embossing folder).  This was layered on a slightly larger piece of cardstock lined with Tear-ific Tape and more Cherry Lemonade glitter was added.  The sentiment was layered this way, too, and popped up on the front.  And with a saying like that, I just had to add a few feathers from my stash.

While working with these chicks, I thought about how as a child at Easter we would get baby chicks that were somehow dyed different colors.  My sisters and I would each get a different color so we knew which one was ours (you know that created some arguments).  I decided to create a 2nd similar card but with colorful chicks.

http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?cPath=82_243&products_id=8077
I used Dandy Dandelion embossing powder on the 2nd layer and die cut circle openings in the slightly smaller top layer to reveal the bright yellow sparkle.  Then the circular die cut images were adhered in the center of each circle.  Sparkle EP and Sunny Daze glitter were added to the accessories and a little White Opal Liquid Pearls to the pearl necklace.

We hope you enjoy this surprise Mini Reveal as much as we have enjoyed creating new projects for it.  And hopefully, we have inspired you as well.  Look for more of these cute chicks in the future too :-).

Thanks for joining us and remember to comment on each of the Designers' blogs to be eligible for the Grand Prize.  (We love reading your comments since they also inspire us.)  No one knows who the Mystery Designer will be for this Mid-Month Blog Hop.

The next stop on our blog hop is Jess.  Enjoy!
