A mixed media piece for you today.
I began by painting one of Tim Holtz Etcetera Tags with a coat of Gesso and then I applied an uneven coat of Texture Paint followed by a coat of Antique Linen Distress Paint and then dried this layer with a heat tool. I then applied a layer of Vintage Photo Distress Paint, dried lightly and then rubbed away some of the paint with a damp baby wipe. I love the texture from the uneven coat of Texture Paste.
I then added some vintage book pages which I randomly covered with Seth Apter's Baked Vintage Beeswax, to give the impression of an aged piece of paper.
I then added a rusty leaf to the centre of my piece adding two faces to the centre combined with cotton threads for added texture. One face has been created using Seth Apter's Patina Oxide Baked Texture and one face is a clay piece which I have aged with paint.
To add further layers in the background I added some stencilled texture along with some of Tim Holtz Tissue Tape. I printed the "Two Heads Are Better Than One" on my typewriter and again aged with Seth Apter's Vintage Beeswax.
I also included some of Tim Holtz Idea-ology Numeric pieces for added dimension.
I also added coils of rusty tin wire along with a circle of rusty wire to add a further element of interest.
I included a Quote Chip, added to the bottom of my tag and added a few delicate splatters of black paint.
I also added some scratchy lines using an old credit card and black paint. I also applied Gathered Twigs Distress Crayon around the edges of my tag.
I am really pleased with how this one turned out.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x

Deep In Their Roots All Flowers Keep The Light
Today I have another piece of art using my new release from
AALLandCreate. Today I have another vintage make with my quirky flower stamps. To view the whole collection and to
see a list of our stockists please click HERE.
If you would like to see my previous pieces using my stamps you can find them HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.
If you would like to see my previous pieces using my stamps you can find them HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.
- Paint the Etcetera tag with a coat of Gesso.
- Apply a random layer of Texture Paste, applying with a palette knife.
- Apply the Paste in a thin layer and dry very lightly and then spritz the flower stamp with water and then stamp the flower stamp into the Texture Paste and then allow the Paste to dry completely.
- Paint the tag with a layer of Antique Linen Distress Paint and then dry with a heat tool.
- Apply a light layer of Vintage Photo Distress Paint and then dry lightly with a heat tool and then wipe away the excess paint with a baby wipe.
- Add a light layer of Tumbled Glass Distress Paint, using a soft brush.
I love how the darker layers of paint lie in the crevices of the Texture Paste. I stamped my sentiment onto white card and distressed a little with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I love this sentiment.
I stamped my quirky flowers onto white card and then coloured with each one with pencils and then layered my flowers into the mdf jar. I also included some rusty spirals with rusty tin wire.
I added a heart to my mdf jar covering the heart with vintage book pages and then covering with layers of Seth Apter's Beeswax Baked Texture. I also stamped my flowers into the hot wax to add a little texture to the heart. I highlighted the flowers with Prima Metallique Wax. Cotton Threads add a touch more texture.
I love how my flowers look stamped into the Texture Paste. I highlighted them a little further with Distress Paint and Wax.
Stamping the flowers into Texture Paste really adds another texture to the background; this piece is so tactile.
I also included a heart embellishment which I received on a parcel recently.
I added a vintage doily behind my mdf jar, again for added texture.
A few delicate splatters of paint and a few scratchy lines with Distress Paint add further interest.
I used my little border stamp from the same flower set, stamped around the edges of my tag. I also added a few touches of Tumbled Glass Distress Paint to the edges.
I am really pleased with how this one turned out!
Here is my stamp set that I used. I am hoping to do some simple cards next with this set, to show how versatile the images are.

If you would like to see my first piece using my stamps, please click HERE. I also have another project I created which you can find HERE. My third piece created with my stamps you can find HERE. You can see a colourful make HERE using my stamps. I also have another vintage make HERE using my butterflies.
I am loving decorating these Etcetara Tags, the base is absolutely brilliant for adding so many layers.
These are the two stamp sets I used for today's sample.
Have a lovely weekend. Tracy x x

I am loving decorating these Etcetara Tags, the base is absolutely brilliant for adding so many layers.
- Paint the Etcetera Tags with a base coat of Gesso.
- Apply Texture Paste randomly over both tags, applying with a palette knife.
- Once the Paste is completely dry, paint with a coat of Cracked Pistachio Distress Paint and then dry with a heat tool.
- Apply a second layer of paint in this case Evergreen Bough Distress Paint, dry the layer of paint very lightly and then use a damp baby wipe to wipe away some of the colour, leaving some of the darker layer in the crevices of the Texture Paste. Dry with a heat tool. Repeat the same process for both tags.
- Apply VersaMark WaterMark Pad across the edges of the tag and then sprinke Seth Apter's Chunky Rust Baked Texture along the edges of the tag and then heat to melt the powder. For the smaller tag I applied Patina Oxide Baked Texture along the edges.
I added some background stamping to each of the tags using my border stamps, stamping with Black Archival Ink. I added three of the circular wooden pieces from Tim Holtz Idea-ology range down the centre of the smaller tag.
I stamped my dragonfly onto vintage book pages and also created a puddle of Seth Apter's Patina Oxide Baked Texture onto my Non-Stick Craft Sheet and then stamped my dragonly into the melted powder. Remember to add ink or VersaMark to your stamp to ensure that the stamp is released from the melted powder easier.
I added some cotton threads for added texture to my design and added the 'DRAGONFLY' sentiment to the background.
I love adding lots of layers to my pieces along with lots of texture and this was a fun piece to create. I also included some vintage rusty nails to the top and bottom of my tag for further texture.
A few delicate splatters of white paint lift the design further along with some scratchy white lines stamped in the background using my border stamp.
I added some rustic twine to the top of my tag. This piece is so tactile in real life!
Thanks so much to everyone for your wonderful words of support following my recent release.

With Brave Wings She Flies
I wanted to try and showcase my stamps in a more mixed media stylie for my first piece. I opted to use two of Tim Holtz new size of Etcetera Tags.
- Paint both tags with a coat of Gesso.
- Using a palette knife, apply an uneven coat of Texture Paste across both tags.
- Once the Paste is completely dry, paint with a layer of Antique Linen Distress Paint and then dry the paint layer with a heat tool.
- Add a second light layer of Vintage Photo Distress Paint, dry this layer lightly and then remove the excess paint with a baby wipe.
- Add light touches of Tumbled Glass Distress Paint.
I used my butterfly and dragonfly stamp set for this piece.
I added vintage French bookpages to my smaller tag and then stamped three butterflies down the centre.
I added three layers to the bottom butterfly and then applied VersaMark Ink to each layer and then applied Seth Apters Beeswax Baked Texture Powder. I love how the text is still visible below the vintage layer. My middle butterfly I stamped into a puddle of Beeswax, remembering to add VersaMark to my stamp so that the melted mixutre peels away from my stamp easily.
I also added some machine stitching down the centre of each butterfly to add further texture to my design. I am loving these tiny sentiments on my stamp set, perfect for adding that little extra detail to the wings. I also included a metal body to this butterfly from an old embellishment I had.
The melted Beeswax really does add wonderful texture to my middle butterfly. I highlighted the texture further with a touch of Prima White Gold Metallique Wax. I added the sentiment 'Trust Your Wings' just below the butterflies.
This butterfly has three layers and I have coloured with Finnabair's pastes, giving wonderful texture to the image.
I stamped 'With brave wings she flies' to the bottom of my tag and added further highlights with Tumbled Glass Distress Paint. I also used a little wheel tool to add markings around the edges of my tag.
I used my background stamp to add detail to the background of my tags and then adhered both tags together.
I used the bottom image from my border stamps to add details in the background.
I added some gold beads and added delicate splatters of paint to finish.
Thanks so much for stopping by and a huge THANK YOU for all your kind comments and wishes regarding my new release, I appreciate them all.

Relic
Hi and welcome to another post just for fun, this time a mixed media canvas.
I began by applying a layer of Dina Wakley's Heavy Body Acrylic Turquoise Paint onto the canvas, applying with a large flat brush. I then added a layer of Ocean paint to a piece of watercolour cardstock and then pressed the painted watercolour card stock onto the canvas, just kissing it against the background, this is often referred to as monoprinting. I repeated the same process with Tangerine Heavy Body Acrylic to add a further layer. I repeated these two steps until I was happy with the layers I had achieved.
I die cut Seth Apter's Sunburst from the watercolour cardstock pieces I had used to create the monoprinting in the previous steps. I added three layers to my sunburst to create a more sturdy piece.
I added a few delicate splatters of black paint combined with some Remnant Rubs and a RELIC Quote Chip for added dimension and interest.
A clay face has been added to the centre of my sunburst, adding touches of paint to the clay face with my finger and then wiping back any excess to give an aged appearance. I then added some cotton threads behind for added texture.
A few rusty elements add further interest to my piece, I love adding vintage touoches to a design.
I added relic using computer generated text to my face along with a FRAGILE Remnant Rub.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend.
