CHNC - Vintage Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2016/11/chnc-challenge-306-vintage-or-anything.html
I have used a paper from a christmas paper pad by Kaisercraft. The image is from Star Stampz and is coloured with copic markers. The cat image is from The Graphics Fairy and is pre-coloured. I also used some Distress Ink - Old Paper on the image, some white pearls and a holly embellishment from a vintage embellishment pack.

Vintage Romance
A card using some vintage images and colouring:
The card is for the challenges at:
Kenny K's Krafty Krew - Vintage
http://kennykskraftykrew.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/challenge-127-vintage.html
Kaboodle Doodles - with a ribbon
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-155-ribbon.html
CRAFT Challenge - Valentines or Love
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/challenge-191-24th-of-january.html
The background is a montage of images from The Graphics Fairy. I then stippled over them with Distress Ink - Old Paper and added some Distress Ink - Vintage Photo at the corners. The image is from Kenny K and has been stippled with Old Paper and the edges with Vintage Photo. I added some colour to the heart using watercolour pencils. The ribbon roses have been inked with Vintage photo to give them more of a vintage feel - they were silver glitter.
I'm hoping that ribbon roses count for the Kaboodle Doodles challenge - they are made from ribbon!

Vintage Mothers Day
One of the challenges this week has a vintage theme. This was a chance to create a vintage card - it was harder to do than I thought it would be:
The card is for the challenge at:
Kaboodle Doodles - Vintage
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-153-vintage.html
I have used various images from The Graphics Fairy to create the collaged background. The colouring different in the images - some black & white and others more sepia tones. I decided to pull them all together by stippling them with Distress Ink - Vintage Photo. Then the additon of white lace seemed wrong so I inked that while I was at it!!
The image that I have used is from Create with TLC. There are alot of beautiful vintage images available but this one spoke Mother's Day to me. I wanted to try to do a Mother's Day card earlier this year and also without flowers if possible. I ended up adding a few silver ribbon flowers and tinging them with the Distress Ink.
This card will be for my mother. She used to work with typewriters something like the ones you see in the left hand side of the collaged background. When I saw these images at The Graphics Fairy, I just had to include them for Mum!

Butterfly Box
This project doesn't use any digital stamps:
It is for the Anything But a Card challenge at CRAFT Challenge:
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/craft-challenge-187-not-card.html
I may add another chaalenge or two once we get back on to a faster internet speed!
I have used a papier mache box and then covered it with white paper and images from The Graphics Fairy. I then stippled it all over with Distress Ink - Old Paper. The finishing touch was a strip of green coloured Glitter Tape from American Crafts. I now have a pretty box for storing some of my embellishments in.

Whoo's wishing you a Happy Birthday
My son absolutely loves owls so at times I'm drawn to images of owls. His preference is for realistic looking owls - not steampunk or cartoon or such like so this is one that I made with him in mind:
The card is for the sketch challenge at Meljens Designs Studio:
http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.co.nz/2012/10/challenge-131-sketch-challenge.html
This image is called Fuzzy Owl and comes from Meljens Designs Studio. The image behind is from The Graphics Fairy. The sentiment comes from Create with TLC.
The colour scheme kind of evolved with this card. It wasn't what I originally thought I'd do but when I looked at the sketch I had this idea of printing the sentiment directly onto a piece of cardstock and fitting it as the bottom piece of the sketch. But then it looked too white... I could have changed the card colour but I didn't think of that at the time. So, out come the Distress Ink pads and my shaving brush. I stippled some Vintage Photo over the piece of card. That got me thinking of vintage, so decided to peruse The Graphics Fairy for a suitable vintage looking image of an owl. Didn't quite have as much of a vintage feel as I wanted so stippled this one too! I then found some grosgrain ribbon to tie in with this colour scheme.
Really pleased with how this turned out and not a backing paper in sight! I'm getting better at creating cards without feeling the need to stick backing papers everywhere.
PS - This is a note for anyone from Meljens. I love the idea of the Tic Tac Toe game but I'm not on Facebook so have to miss out. Any chance of doing the odd one with these challenges for those of us not on Facebook (I don't think I'm the only one who doesn't like Facebook)? Quite happy having the sketch challenges too - this one has been great.

Vintage Christmas
The challenge this time at Crimbo Crackers is for a Vintage Christmas:
http://crimbo-crackers.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/challenge-24-vintage.html
I have kept my card relatively simple:
Sorry about the angle of the photograph but I'm having real issues with my camera. I took about 10 photos of this card and they all came out blurred. In desperation, I tried a different angle and the photo is much clearer - but that angle isn't great.
I have used two different papers from Computer Scrapbook - one from the SL set and the other from the Oakley Set. The image is from The Graphics Fairy. I'm so used to using digi, rubber or acrylic stamps in my cardmaking but this theme called for a vintage look and none of the stamps I had could pull that look off. So, I checked out what I had from The Graphics Fairy and decided on this one. There were alot more vintage Christmas images that I could have chosen!
While I do not like the photograph, the actual card I'm happy with. It's simple but effective.
