Love Love Love

This fortnight at Incy Wincy Designs our theme is Love Love Love.  We have two sponsors - Polka Doodles and Fred She Said.

For my first card, I have used an image from Polka Doodles called Holly Ladybird Tree.

I made a scraplet card for this card using up a scrap piece of cardstock as well as a scrap piece of patterned paper. The sentiment is from Cre8ive Hands.  Colouring is with copic markers.

For my second card, I have used a pre-coloured image from Fred She Said called Hearts and Roses.

The digital paper is also from Fred She Said.    I am not sure of the source of the sentiment as it is one that I printed out a couple of years ago but didn't use.

I would like to enter:

From This Day Forward

I decided on a soft colour palette for this image an in the process used an image and a sentiment from my stash of printed images.

I would like to enter:
The Outlawz Monday Challenge - Brads, Sequins or Gems (I used brads and gems)
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/monday-greetings/forum/topics/monday-greetings-july-22nd-thru-august-4th-2019-brads-sequins-or

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.  The image is from Dr Digi's House of Stamps and the sentiment from Cr8tive Hands.  Colouring is with copic markers and Wink Of Stella.  I used glitter cardstock for matting.  I placed the brads through the edge of the image and sentiment to help them stay attached to the card as I often have issues attaching glitter cardstock to anything.  I then added a few glitter gems for balance.

I have used a brightly striped paper from Rosie's Studio for the background.  I hauled out one of my under-used Spellbinders dies and decided it was time to use it again!  The image is from Lia Stampz and has been coloured with some of my more vivid coloured copic markers.  The sentiment is from Cre8tive Hands and is also coloured with copic markers.  I added some faux stitching using a Distress Marker.  The shaped sequins are some that I bought a number of years ago and have rarely used.  I thought they were just right for a New Year's themed card.

Mixed Media Christmas Canvas

When I saw the challenge at Sentimental Sunday, I really wanted to do it...but.....time was not on my side.  I've been on holiday and there is only so much you can take with you on a plane!  Got back a little while ago and have had to work with what I had to produce this:

This is where you can find the challenge:
Sentimental Sundays --   Mixed Media
http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.co.nz/2013/04/challenge-152-mixed-media-canvasportrait.html
I am also entering this project into these challenges:
Catch the Bug - Anything Goes
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/05/may-anything-goes-at-bugaboo.html
Bearly Mine Challenges - Anything Goes
http://bearlymine-challenges.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/84-anything-goes-challenge.html

I would have liked to use a smaller canvas as they had in the tutorial but this 15cm x 15cm one was the only size I had at home.

I used Distress Ink - Barn Door for the edges of the canvas.  The background paper comes from Bearly Mine Designs.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and the sentiment is from Cre8tive Hands.    As embellishments, I have added some red ribbon, red bow, red rhinestones and some crystallina Kindy Glitz.  Colouring of the image is with copic markers R29, R27 and E35.

Something a little different to display this christmas.

An elegant Christmas card this time.  These papers just add the right touch of elegance.

The card is for the challenges at:
CHNC - Based on christmas carol or song
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/chnc-challenge-118-based-on-christmas.html
CHNC - Anything Christmas

Seems A Little Sketchy - Sketch
http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.nz/2013/04/sketch-36-qkr-stampede.html
Kaboodle Doodles - Two patterned papers
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/04/challenge-165-use-2-different-pattern.html

The card uses two papers from a paper pad by MME called Santa Claus.  I love the brown tonings and deep reds in this.  The image is from Creative Hands.  I have also added a touch of lace under one of the papers, a satin ribbon from American Crafts, some square bling and some pearls.  The flag banner at the top of the card is a Spellbinders die as are the square and scalloped square dies.

Wish upon a Star

I entered quite a number of Christmas Card challenges in 2012 but when I went to send out my cards, I realised I had a lack of nativity scene type cards:

The challenge at Winter Wonderland has the first one for 2013:
http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2012/12/wish-upon-star.html
And this card will also work for the challenge at Ruby's Rainbow:
http://rubysrainbow.blogspot.co.nz/2012/12/rubys-rainbow-ch44-nativity.html

I have used some background paper from Bearly Mine Designs.  As soon as I saw the Wish upon a Star on it, I knew I had to use it for this card!  The image used is one from Cre8tive Hands and is called Nativity.  The sentiment is from Mudmaven Designs and I have used a star shaped die from Nellie's Multi-Frames.  The remainder of the set is scallop edged squares but the smallest square has this shape in the centre!  I then added a few star shaped rhinestones to the corners of the image.

Gingerbread Man

The challenge at Crimbo Crackers is Gingerbread
http://crimbo-crackers.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/challenge-25-gingerbread.html

I have used a combination of gingerbread men and a gingerbread house!

I have used a backing paper from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.

The christmas tree is from a grab bag that I purchased about 6 months ago.  I have added some red rhinestones as baubles.  The green sparkly ribbon is from American Crafts.

The image is from Cre8tive Hands.  I have coloured this with copics and then added some crystallina Kindy Glitz as snow.  The die-cut is a Spellbinders Labels.

S is for Santa

The challenge at ABC Christmas Challenges has now reached the letter S - a reminder that Christmas is not that far away!
http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/s-for-santa-claus-is-coming-to-town.html

I have a bright and cheerful Santa card:

I have used a bright and colourful backing paper from Free Digital Scrapbook.  The image is from Cre8tive Hands and is called Santa in Chimney.  I have coloured this using copic markers and added dimension n the hair and hands with Matte Accents.  The fur trim and snow have been glitzed up with some crystallina Kindy Glitz.  I had some Christmas embellishments that I got in a grab bag at a craft fair which I hadn't yet used.  I have added one of those to this card.

Back to School Card

I have made a back to school card:

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

Crafty Creations - Back to school
http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/challenge-186-back-to-school.html
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch 170
http://sweetsketchwednesday.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/sweet-september.html

And this is the sketch that I followed:

As you can see, I've substituted books for the flower embellishment.

I have created a background from elements from Scrapbookscrapbook.com.  I collaged these together to make a background.  The frame is from cardstock.  The paper comes from Free Digital Scrapbook.  I'm not sure where the books came from.  The image is one from Cre8tive Hands.

Sorry, the comment on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog was a bit after I posted this.  I posted this at 5am before taking my son to swim training and then on to school.  Ran out of time to do the comment so it had to wait until now when I'm back home.

Update:   This card won a Top Three award (3rd) at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  It is my first Top 3 placing (not counting the time that I was the only entry in a challenge!) and I am so thrilled to have been chosen in the top 3.

Kids Christmas

The challenge at Christmas Cards All Year can be found here:
http://christmascardsallyearround.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/august-challenge-kids-christmas.html

This challenge was surprisingly difficult but I have completed a card:

I tend to do more CAS style cards but this one is possibly more CAS than usual!  I have used a bold background paper from my stash and this image comes from Cre8tive Hands and is called winter.  I have coloured the image mainly using bold coloured copics with B000 for the sky.  I tried adding some embellishments but it tended to look more adult like when I did so I have left them off.  I have used a bright red cardstock for the matting to help pop the image more.

A penguin themed Christmas Card

The challenge at Crimbo Crackers is to use penguins (or animals) on a Christmas creation:
http://crimbo-crackers.blogspot.co.nz/2012/07/challenge-20-penguins-or-animals.html

I chose to work with a penguin:
I love this particular image and have used it before.  It is one from Cre8tive Hands.which I have coloured with my copics.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva.  I die-cut the digi image and matt using a Spellbinders Octogan die set.  The sentiment and it's matt has been cut using my trimmer.  The background paper is one from Bearly Mine Designs.    I have added some rhinestones over the larger dots on the background paper.

Sentiment Card

The challenge at Winter Wonderland this week was to create a card with the sentiment as the focal point:
http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2012/07/sentiment-as-focal-point.html

I found I had a few suitable sentiments to choose from, but this is the one that I eventually decided upon:

For this card I used some background paper from my stash.  I overlay this with some red grosgrain ribbon and some red and white lace.

The sentiment is one from Cre8tive Hands.  I have coloured the holly with copics and put a dab of Glossy Accents on the berry.  I have cut out the sentiment using a Nellies Multi Frame die and then matted this with green and then red cardstock.

I have added three red rhinestones to finish off the card.

Simple - yet effective.
