Non-traditional colors for a baby book {welcome to my new niece}

Hi Crafters,

When I saw this patterned paper pack from Stamin Up! I knew it would be perfect for my niece that was due to arrive shortly. I mixed in some of the coredinations coordinating cardstock too. These are not your traditional baby colors but they are so fun and bright!

I used the print then cut feature on the explore for the rectangles here. It was super easy to get them sized and ready to go in the book!

Most of the picture mats are sized for 4x6 and 4x4 pictures (they are 4.5x4.5 and 4.5x6.5)

I included some project life cards to help document the first year of her life.

I used my cuttlebug and a bit of washi tape to accent this page.
I also included a 5x7 on this page.

This paper is DCWV

I secured the twine with tape on the back of the page

Here are the links to the files I used to create the book
File 1- intro, seasons, playtime, its a girl, family, birthday
File 2- First christmas. The firsts with the banner unfortunately didn't save. This has a different version I have used in previous books.

Illustrated Faith Journaling Bible {Washi strips} Matthew 7:7

Hi Crafters,

I have been taking full advantage of having a few snow days. I've spent a lot of time up on the loft this week and it's been so fulfilling!

I was inspired by this passage from Matthew 7:7. About asking, seeking, and knocking.

My college roommate's birthday is coming up this weekend and she has asked for a journaling Bible as well. I created these 1.75 inch washi strips sized and ready to go in her Bible where she pleases. I used printable transparency paper sized just over 3.5 inches. I trimmed the edges then cut it in half.
I made her birthday card with this beautiful butterfly cut from Miss Kate's Cuttables. They blow me away with their easy layering!

Happy Birthday {Flower Trio}

Hi Crafters,

I've been crafting up a storm but haven't been blogging! I hope your craft life has been treating you well!

I used Miss Kate Cuttables 3 Flower Set cut for this beautiful fall flower trio!  Miss Kate's cuts have lots of layers but always piece together so nicely. I used the cricut markers for the sentiment.
September-February is my busy birthday season. I'm looking forward to celebrating with many friends and family members!

{Baseball} Birthday Card

Hi crafters,

I added a new member to the craft family this week... the cricut explore has made a home in the craft loft! I've had the pleasure of tinkering around with it for a few projects this week!

Here's a quick card I made for a birthday this week.
I trimmed the home plate base to fit on a 6x5.5 card.
I am loving the free trial of the subscription and I will likely subscribe. It's just SO nice to scroll through and pick just about ANY image you want.  I also like picking a canvas to work on, it makes sizing the objects so easy.

I've included a link to the project just incase you want a quick and easy card...

{Walk in My Garden Tulip} Birthday Card

Hi Crafters,
Spring is coming! I promise!!
Here's a fun spring birthday card I made last week. I used the tulips boarder from Walk in my Garden. The grass is from Plantin Schoolbook. I popped up a few of the flowers with pop dots to add a bit of dimension before glueing it to the chevron cardstock. I made this card for one of my paper crafting bffs.
Once I glued the pennants to the cardstock I ran a few rows of stitches through them.

It's a Whale of A Tale {Birthday Party}

Hi Crafters,

We celebrated our nephew's first birthday yesterday.  It was a Whale Under the Sea themed party. I helped my sister in law with some of the party decor.
I used the whale from Create a Critter as the main character. The font for the banner is from Cricut Craft room Basics.

The other sea creatures were from Create a Critter and Life's a Beach.

I made a little mini pennant banner that attached to the main focal stick and attached those to other toppers. My sister in law made this adorable whale cake.

Hip Hip Hooray {Happy Birthday}

Hi crafters,

Shoo, it's been a busy month! This is the first weekend in 4 weeks that I haven't hosted a party or shower at my house.  I've had a blast but it has been nice to lounge around and craft this weekend.

This fun little hippo is from Birthday Bash. I took a black marker pen to highlight the cut marks. I gave this card to a special birthday girl and fellow crafter last weekend for her birthday.

Slithering By to say...{Happy Birthday}!

Hi Crafters,

This week is filled with birthdays! Here's a quick card I put together for a dear family friend. She had a not so fun run in with a snake in a fire place while on vacation a few years ago.  When I saw this happy little guy on Create a Critter I knew he'd be perfect!

{Clean and Simple} Birthday Cards

Hi Crafters,

If you are looking for my Cut it Up Challenge!  Lion and Lamb Challenge post.

This first card I got my inspiration from Freshly Made Sketches and I am linking up to them as well.  The whale and the waves are from Life's a Beach.

This next card I made for a coworker.  Men cards are always a challenge so I kept it simple with this one too.  I cut the sentiment shape from Lacey Labels.  I embossed the strips of paper with the cuttlebug and added some buttons down the side.

March...in like a {lion} Mama and Baby Lion Birthday

Hi Crafters,

It's our second challenge on Cut it Up! blog.  Thanks for coming to visit!

I created this card for the challenge March: in like a lion, out like a lamb.

The original design had a mane on both the lions but I didn't add it to the larger lion to create a lioness. This birthday card is for a new mom who is celebrating her birthday at the end of the month.  The card is an A2, the layers are cut at 4x2, 4x4.75 and 3.5x3.4.  I stitched along the bottom orange piece with a zig-zag stitch on my sewing machine.
I used the Create a Critter cartridge for the lions and the sentiment.
The mama lion and her layers are cut at 2.84 inches
The baby lion and his layers are cut at 2 inches.

Be sure to check out the other designer's amazing projects over at Cut it Up! and link up your project for a chance to win!

{disney} preparations

Hi crafters,

We had my niece's birthday party today.  She and her cousins are headed to Disney in a few months, this made crafty gift giving quite easy.

I made this count down with my bind it all.  The numbers are the cricut craft room font and the letters are from Lyrical Letters.

 I cut the white cardstock at around 2 inches and covered the chipboard with red paper.

 I got matching shirts and used freezer paper to make the Micky heads.  I didn't have the Disney cartridge with it so I just used the head from a cart I didn't have and grabbed three circles and sized/welded them over top of it before deleting the original.

I created these autograph books for them to take to the park.  I covered chipboard with paper and used white computer paper inside for the pages.

The crowns are from Paper Doll Dress Up.  The Micky head was created using the same method as above.

I used fun paper inside the covers and did the reverse for the back covers.

Vellum Filled {Polkadot} Party Invites

Hi Crafters,

My niece is turning 3 next month! I just can't believe it!  She has requested a polkadot themed party this year.  I started working on her invitations and remembered this fabulous card from Thoughts of a Card-making Scrapbooker.

I printed the sentiment from my printer on to a piece of vellum I trimmed it down to 5x7.  I cut another piece of vellum at 5x7 and sewed 3 sides together with a zig zag stitch. I cut out circles in various sizes and colors and filled the pocket with circles and sequins. I sewed the last side to close everything up.  I took the photo with a piece of pink card stock in the background so you could easily see the details.  I adore the way they came out, they are fun to shake and move everything around.

If I had it to do again I would have cut out some number 3s to add to the pocket.  Be sure to check back, I will be revealing her custom birthday shirt in the next few entries!
