Even More Makes Today!

I've been a bit slack about doing Di's card sketches lately, which really sucks because I love them - they are so totally useable! Happily I managed to get this one done today. It didn't photograph particulary well - there's alot of white highlights & with that pale blue background I think maybe they were just a bit too subtle. Anyway, the circles are die cut from Heidi Grace Frost Pillow flocked paper (I'm loving that particular one at the mo - great texture & design!) & this pale blue one. The edges were inked with white Stazon - it gives such a great finish on the flock - the pile picks it up so you can see the texture IYGWIM. I die cut a snowflake from chipboard, triple embossed it with green petals embossing powder & stamped the A Muse Lots Of Flakes design while it was still warm. I inked that up with the white stazon too, which gave a really frosty finish. I had planned on using turquoise embossing powder but I'm all out - I think this combi worked well tho'. The letters were die cut from vellum & I doodled a bit on the edges of both the letters and the pale blue circle with a paint pen - really easy and fairly quick to do!
And because of the embossing - this card also qualifies for the technique thursday challenge! Cool huh?

Closet Girly!

Having de-sensitised myself by taking part in a self portrait saturday (SPS) at HS:MS a couple of weeks back (another one of those piccies coming up tonight!) I have scrapped a few 'me' photos. This one is another multi-challenge LO: sketch #49 from pencil lines (yay! I finally got another one in on time!); purple mulberry paper & stamping in the bottom right corner (you can just make it out on the enlarged image) satisfy Wednesday stamper's challenge; Technique Thursday wanted paper folding, again on the flower stem!
So I used this paper (& this one) from the English Paper Company, pink gingham by HOTP. The journal strips used this plain lilac & the white letter tiles are also HOTP. I used a marvy mega scalloped square punch to cut the tiles, doodled the edges, handwritten journaling (I'm getting brave about doing that now!), and edged absolutely everything (including the ends of the ribbon bow) with lots of this ink!

Di's Daring Technique For Cardvaarks!!

Phew! That was one mean title, so I guess I should explain LOL. I've been running late all day but had a fabby afternoon locked in my shop crafting. I made this card. Cheryl said I'd soon be making multiplt challenge cards and this one fits the bill LOL. I used Di Hickman's sketch #4 (just shifted the focal image to the right a little bit - I like off-centre); Daring Cardmakers want buttons; Technique Thursday's challenge is 'use red' (oops! that was last week, it's circles now but the paper has circles on it so I guess it still counts!!) and Caardvarks are all about fibres this week, so I make that four!! I'm doing a few Christmas cards at the moment - it's being in the shop that does it as we are getting lots of people making a start. But I guess if you have lots to make or you are making cards to sell, you'd need to make a start now, right? It does remind me of when I used to write for a few craft magazines - August was always spent up to my neck in glittery bits and red papers LOL. Happy Days! Oh! And the papers all came from last November's HOTP PS Cardmakers kit!

Still Loving Cosmo Cricket!
