A Christmas Card

Happy Sunday!

I know it is May and summer is practically here already, but every crafter knows it is never too early to start making christmas cards. Why? Because we need so many at once! At the Paper Wishes Message Board, I am hosting a Christmas Card challenge where every two weeks I post a new theme for the members. For the first challenge, the theme was "Anything Goes" so everyone was allowed to make whatever they wanted. This card is what I came up with today. I usually use a digi but I decided not to today. All of the materials are from Paper Wishes. The papers are from the Christmas Creative Card Makers Pack. The greeting is an embossed greeting that I purchased along with the organza ribbon and brads. To give the card a little extra something, I added a strand of Kreinik Metallic thread on the side and some stickles around the greeting and on the bow.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges in blogland:

1) CES Challenges - Holiday
2) One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes
3) Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - Anything Goes
4) Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
5) Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge - Sentiments

Enjoy the rest of your evenings everyone :) Happy Crafting!

So...what crafty project is everyone working on?

Hello Again:

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. It is so nice to have a quiet weekend where you can stay home and not have to go anywhere. My boyfriend and I have a busy social schedule between friends, family and bowling that it is hard finding days where we can just do nothing. This weekend was a do nothing weekend so I was able to work on some projects. I added some rows onto my baby crochet blanket. It is coming out so cute, plus I am getting great practice with crocheting. I'll post a progress picture when I have done a little bit more. I also was able to work on my cross-stitch piece. I can't go into details about this one because it is a model of a design that has yet to be released by the designer. If you are curious the designer is X's and Oh's. They are based out of Canada. If you love to cross-stitch, you should definitely have a nosey around this site. There are various artists charts displayed and all of them are wonderful. This is my fourth design that I have model stitched for this designer. These are the other three I have done: Which Way, Fat Dog, and Distant Cousins.

So what crafty projects are you working on? I would love to know. It keeps me inspired to keep working on mine. :-)

Look forward to hearing from you all.

A Pretty Paper Tole Card

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there. I have a pretty card to share. On the Paper Wishes message board, we were challenged to make a card using Paper Tole. This is the first time I have ever worked with Paper Tole and it was really cool. It was like piecing a puzzle together. The image I used is made from Foil Paper hence why it is so shiny and unbelievably challenging to photograph. I really did try with that I promise you. I made this into a birthday card to send to a nice lady. I hope she likes it. I can't say who cause she is one of my followers. ;-) Everything on this card is from Paper Wishes, the papers, ribbon, paper tole, pearls and dazzles. I tried keeping this card really simple. I usually like to add stickles here there and everywhere on a card, but the foil Paper Tole is so shiny, I thought that would be kind of overkill on the card.

I am entering this card into two challenges:

For Fun Challenges: Use Lots of Flowers
Catch the Bug Challenge: Anything Goes

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
