You are Amazing!

It was my friend Jill's birthday last week. She's the dog rescuer in NC that is BEYOND AMAZING for what she does for animals - so I created this card for her using a Stamping Bella image:

I love how this card came out!

The beginning of the end.........

So..........I think I'm going to give up the blog for a bit.  There are a couple of reasons to do so and I'm not finding the time and energy to do it much anymore........so......I think at the end of the week Crafty Cre8tions blog will go dark for a bit.  I might pop in here and there (and I'll still be creating) but my postings and blog visits will be dropping off.

I think I'll probably post some pictures on my Crafty Cre8tions Facebook page because it will be easier and faster - so if you're on FB and want to 'like' the page.........feel free!

These last few posts will be super quick too:

Here's a card I made for Cindy's birthday two week's ago:

Have a great day!!!!!!!

Father's Day 2

Happy Monday! Hope you were able to celebrate Father's Day with your loved ones!  Here's the card we gave my father-in-law:

This is a Stamping Bella image colored with Prisma pencils.  I used my Lil Inker Polaroid die and a Hero Arts/Basic Grey background stamp.  I popped his crown up too and added some washi tape & bling!

Hope you have a great start to your week!

Bellarific Friday - Many Wishes

It's been months since I've played along with the Stamping Bella Bellarific Friday challenges - but since I colored up a few images last week - I decided to jump in!

It's a pretty basic card - not many frills.  Ms. Pixie is colored with my Prisma pencils and then I added a There She Goes butterfly because she was lonely up there!

Well - hope you have a terrific Friday and a great weekend!!!

Thanks for your visit!

Pixie Birthday

So, I'm really loving this card!  This is a Stamping Bella pixie image and she's just too cute standing among all those flowers!

I (once again) tried the 'out of the box' technique and it took me (again) way to long to do - even though I (again) followed a tutorial.  Why am I so dumb when it comes to this technique? LOL.

But - in the end - I really like it!  Along with that gorgeous large HA sentiment!

Have a great Wednesday!

All things grow with love......

TGIF again :)  Quick post today!

Here's a Stamping Bella image I colored with my Inktense watercolor pencils.  Yes - I've been using them A LOT lately - but I did pull out my prisma pencils this week - so they got some love too (lol).

The flowers are so gorgeous here in CT right now, I was very inspired to make a colorful window box!

Here's a second card using the same image plus a PTI sentiment

Hope you have a great day!!!!

More fun with Inktense pencils

Yes........I'm still playing and learning to use these Inktense pencils!  Here's a card I made over the weekend for no particular reason than just to play around:

I'm really pleased how this came out!  I scribbled blocks of color along the left hand side of the panel and then heavily spritzed it with water and let it run down the other side.  After it dried, I repeated the process again.

Then I stamped this Stamping Bella flower stamp and used a PTI sentiment.  To add a little interest to the background, I embossed a Cuttlebug folder!

On a side note - I decided to try and raise funds for my half marathon in July.  Here's the link to my fundraising page.  The beneficiary is Running for Rescues  - a Connecticut charity that helps homeless animals:

"A friend.........

is one who knows us, but loves us anyway!"  What a great quote right?  That came from a Stamping Bella stamp set and I used it on my latest mixed media project.

On Sunday, Cindy and Lindsey came over to craft up some canvases.  Thankfully I had a little idea in my head on Saturday night and it pretty much came out the way I wanted! (This is going to be picture heavy!)

This is a 7" x 14" canvas I actually picked up at Walmart.
I started by covering with with pages from a book. Then added three different paint colors.

I stamped out some Hero Arts flowers on patterned paper and then cut them out layering them on each other. I cut out some stems and leaves and and laid those down too.

I used some modeling paste and stencils for some dimension and also some bubble wrap and paint.
I also added some stickers spelling out "friend" and "love".

I used my Sharpie pen for black edging, various rub-ons and MS beads in the center of the flowers.

Here's Lindsey working on her canvas

Lindsey and Cindy in process

And their finished projects!

I going to enter this canvas in the Stampotique Designer's Challenge#88 "Use Text"

Hope you have a great day!!!! Thanks for looking!!!

STB#6 - Masculine Birthday

It's another card for Seize the Birthday and it's 'masculine' week.  Here's an image I colored up watching the Grammys and put the card together during the week.

I didn't go too crazy on the card but used MME paper and a Stamping Bella image.  I wanted my little boy to have red hair - so I gave that a whirl coloring it up!

Here's the sketch if you want to play along!!!

STB#5

Yah! I was able to make a card for the Seize the Birthday challenge#5 - feminine card.  This will also work for Stamping Bella's Bellarific Friday of "anything goes":

Here's little Millie with her balloon!  She's colored with Prisma pencils and I popped up her balloon extending it from the original stamp.  For the background - I embossed Hero Arts and Impression Obsession stamps with white powder.

Here's the sketch - but you've got to submit by 12 noon today!

Poppy Thank You

Happy Monday!  I missed last week's deadline entry for the Dynamic Duo's green/yellow challenge.  I had an hour before the deadline and I was going to race and take a picture, edit, post to blog, enter challenge and then I thought........REALLY?  All for a challenge?  Perspective Maria.......perspective!

So....a few days late...here's the card anyway!
I LOVE this Lulu with Poppies! One of my FAVORITE Stamping Bella images!  This time I colored her with Distress Markers and I really have to admit........I still don't LOVE these markers!  I feel I get better watercoloring with the Distress Ink Pads. Oh well!

I embossed a Nestie die on the green layer and then layed the die cut layer on top! I really like this look!  I added a few gems and a Hero Arts sentiment.

Hope you have a great day!!!

STB#2 - Masculine Birthday

It's the second week of the Seize the Birthday challenge. This week is to make a masculine birthday card using the same sketch as last week.

Here's my card:

I started off by stamping and coloring this Stamping Bella image with my prisma pencils.  Then I masked the image and stamped a Penny Black brick background over it and colored that with Distress Inks.  I added a little more red prisma pencil to the bricks then some white highlights.  I stamped a PTI birthday sentiment on the brick.  I thought it would of been a bit more bold - but oh well!

I used Tim Holtz and Cuttlebug embossing folders and then sanded them a bit.  Some twine and a button and this masculine card is done!

Here's the sketch if you want to play:

Bellarific Friday - Serenity Now!

TGIF to you out there!!!!!!  Today's card is one I made following this week's Stamping Bella sketch challenge:

This definitely was a 'different' sketch, but I had fun with it!  I stamped one of Paula Williamson's images and then ever so carefully punched it into a circle.  The image comes with a square outline  - so I had to line it up just perfect!  Then I colored it with my Distress Markers.  I used a Stampin' Up background stamp I got at my LSS thrift sale.  I finished off the card with PTI diecut flowers and a MFT sentiment.

Here's the sketch:

Hope you have a terrific day!!!!!!!!!

TSOT#99 - Hope your day is yummy!

Happy Saturday to you all!!!!!! Hope you made it through another short week! ;)

I've been lucky enough to spend a bunch of time in my craft room. Plus it's been FREEEEEEZING here in CT - so I'm happy to be inside!   Today is a birthday card following the Try Stamping On Tuesday Challenge #99:

I used my Lil Inker Designs Polaroid die cut and a Stamping Bella image colored with my Prisma pencils. I also used a Darcie's sentiment.  This is some cheerful paper huh??

Here's the sketch:

Hope you have a great day!

Do I really need a new craft?

No.........not really...........but lately I've been inspired by a few ladies to try some mixed media projects.

Namely:
Jill Foster
Elizabeth Allen and
Paula Williamson

So.................here's my FIRST EVER mixed media on canvas! (Be kind!!)

So, after my friend Paula called me from Michigan to give me some tips - I decided to just go for it. What's the worst thing? I throw it away?

First I took a piece of My Mind's Eye paper and cut it to the canvas size.  Then I took a Stamping Bella image (the girl) and stamped it with StazOn Ink.  I stamped it before adhering the paper to canvas so I got a perfect impression.

Then I used my Mod Podge and covered the top of the canvas and the back of the paper and adhered them together.   I covered it with more Mod Podge and let it dry for a bit.

Then I dug around in my closet to find my acrylic paint and using my finger I put on yellow, green and at metallic blue.  I covered the sides too - and let dry.

Next I grabbed a few random stamps. I dipped some in my acrylic paint and pressed them to canvas and some I stamped with more StazOn.  I added some finger polka dots to the sides of the canvas too.  When dry - I added more Mod Podge and then I wanted a bit more - so I colored in the hearts she's blowing with a red Sharpie, then added clear Stickles on top.

I stamped a Hero Arts sentiment on another piece of paper and edged it with metallic paint. ( I don't love how that came out!)

Finally I added some more leaf stamps in StazOn and added one final coat of Mod Podge.

Lastly, I glued down one clear gem over one of the kite tails just for dimension because I didn't invest in gesso (yet).

So - what you think? If you'd done this - do you have any advice for me?

Thanks!!!!!!
