A Little Leftovers Can Make Something Pretty

I'm still creating with my extras from the last Live with Prima kit. For my YMH post this week I've created this sweet little clear tag. I took a clear acylic tag I've had laying around and covered it with the Prima Damask transparency. Once the glue dried I cut around the tag to remove the extra and then used the Dots Cuttlebug folder on the blue c/s. The music sheet was created by heat embossing a music stamp from WMS and was then layered with some white lace. The senitment came from WMS as well and the flower and bling is from another Live with Prima kit I had. I think this would look great on a gift to a loved one.

Challenges used:

Papercraft Star: scraplift a project from DT Liz and her pink tag I liked the shape and layout of it as tags are hard for me to create.
Lil' Red Wagon: use lace
Crafty Creations: heat it up (I used heat embossing)
Crafty Catz: flowers

Tag, You're It!

I finally have been able to get this idea for a Christmas tag down. It's not exactly like I had planned, but I really like the end result none-the-less. I'm entering this for the Waltzingmouse Christmas tag challenge. I used the Seasons of Love - Tags stamp for the star and sentiment. I've been wanting to play since Claire first posted this Challenge but have only know had the courage to play along. I was limited on supplies and really wanted to do her stamp set justice. I keep thinking I could have added a little more but then as I start thinking about the night sky I remeber that God made it simple and sparkly bright and if that is good enough for Him then it should be good enough for me. I stamped the star twice: once with versamark on clear accetate and embossed with Iridescent Ice and then again on vellum embossing it in white. I kept the center it them so that the person's name that this will go to could be written. Then I stamped the sentiment on vellum with versmark and embossed it in white as well. I loke how the background cand subtly be seen behind it. The frame for the sentiment is an old piece I have from SU!. The flourish image on the top and bottom is from Tim Holtz's Fabulous Flourishes while the script is from PTIs Text Style (since I don't have WMS's text background yet). The flourishes are embossed in Iridescent Ice like the star while the words were stamped in Faded Jeans Distress Ink. I sponged Faded Jeans and Broken China for the background base color. The top and bottom of the card are swiped with some pearl paint (a technique I picked up from the great Tim Holtz). I used some sivler cord to hang the star as well as for the bows that I combined with some white sheer ribbon. I had lots of fun making this tag and it'll be hard to give it away....so maybe I'll just keep it for myself, lol.

Challenges used:
Pixie Cottage: sketch and/or metal (I choose the metal)
Papertake Weekly: sparkly and bright
Cute Card Thursday: transparent (my star and the sentiment)
