His and Her Day

I had so much fun this weekend creating His and Her cards with Paper Smooches that I just had to try it out again. This time I used Lawn Fawn's Dad's Day. these came together just as easily too. Since I wanted to play with this fun tiny stamp set, I decided to play along with Lawnscaping Challenge too: Clean & Simple. Some days I struggle with the white-space CAS cards and other days it comes a little easier. No matter what, I do seem to gravitate towards them, lol.

Her card (because it's ladies first don't 'cha know, lol)

One thing I love about this set is how easy it is to cute out the images. I wanted a nice cool and relaxing color scheme for this card and thought blue and grey would be perfect. I stamped the chair on some white c/s and then cut it out and put foam tape on the back. Before I taped it down I placed it to see where I wanted the grey shadow/rug to go. Once I figured that out I simply shaded with my copics and then taped the chair down. The upper corner was put together with washi tape and one of the sentiments from the set stamped onto a vellum banner. I used the washi tape to "tape down" the banner. To bring it just a hint of girly I simply added some bling...still trying to perfect that whole random bling thing.

His card (because he's a gentleman and let the lady go first):

Another CAS one. This time I used kraft and vanilla with a touch of blue. This one used the other sentiment, the mustache, and the tie. Again, these images were so easy to cut out (LOVE that). To give this CAS card a little umph but not be busy or girly I simple popped up the images like I did with the chair in the above card. I also added some brown stitching around the vanilla base to help frame it. As a bonus, I now have a father's day card done (one down and three more to go).

Happy Father's Day

A quick a simple card I made for my DH for his day. I used one of the circles from PTI's Tree Tops stamp set and the sentiment from one of the male sets (sorry, I can't remember which one). I wanted to keep it very simple. We are enjoying a quite day after our vacation.

For the Dads

Nothing like creating my Father's Day cards at the last minutue (which seems to be how I am creating lately). Since my DH is a wonderful daddy and I have a daddy of my own, I thought I would show you what I created for both of them. Both are rather simple as they are simple guys.
For the first card I, CASED Jaclyn's card over at CAS-sual Fridays for thier challenge. Since it wasn't "colorful" by my standards, I added some stitching to help break up the greys. The small star stamp is from PTI's Take a Bough and the sentiment stamp is an old one from Stampin' Up.

Challenges for the first card:
CAS-ual Fridays: color blocking
Colour Create: Blue, Grey, White
Southern Girls Challenge: Anything Goes

The second card uses Verve's Protector two stamp set and some wonderful SEI paper from YMH called Windsor. I stamped the word in grey and then cut out to be palaced over the mat that I clear embossed the collage onto vanilla c/s and then used Distress Ink's Antique Linen, Old Paper, and Pumice Stone to get the words to pop a little more. I added a little Pumice Stone to the SEI paper as well as I don't tend to do "clean" mats often. I love that YMH is now selling Distress Inks (and more). The twill at the bottom was folded over and slipped through a ribbon buckle.

Father's Day cards DONE!

I got my father day's cards done (well, at least my hubby's and my daddy's). I had fun making them too. One is a CAS and the other I used my copics. Before I get to that though, I wanted to let ya'll know that I am doing much better. I had an infection/cold and am doing MUCH better now.

Now for my first (and the fav of the two) card. I used Tiddly Inks digi Robot Dad for it. This is also my first robot card and I am LOVING them. Many more will be making their way into my stash I am sure. To add to the metal feel of a robot I covered the image in some Crystal Effects. The sentiment and the nuts along the bottom came with the cute guy too.
