Orange you glad Autumn is here?

Corny title I know but it goes so well with my first card and the weather we're having here in Texas. I have somehow managed to find time to color three images and make four card this weekend. Today I'm only showing two of them and tomorrow I'll show the other two. I am feeling better and some decisions are being made (although none that I can share at the moment). I'm doing lots of talking with my Father and trying to understand what he is telling to do. I have had a sense of peace one day this week when a decision was made, and I am going to try to hold on to that as it is my light right now. I really believe it's God's way of letting me know that things will be ok. I talked to my DH about the feeling and what brought it one and he too believes that it was God.

On to my cards. The first one is a digi fairy from The Greeting Farm that I've had printed out for awhile now. I've noticed several challenges about Autumn and with the cooler weather making its way to my home I thought she would make a nice Autumn fairy. I colored her orange with copics and then decided that I would do an almost monochromatic card. I had just gotten this great pad of paper from YMH and just had to try it on the card. The gold and cream are from the SEI Windsor paper pack. In that same YMH shipment came lots of Tattered Angles products including the Iridescent Gold glimmer mist that I used on the orange cardstock. To bring the card to life (as it was getting to be just a touch too much orange for my liking) I created an outdoor backgroudn using Patina and Key Lime glimmer mist on some dictionary paper I cut to size. I was inspired to create this whimsical background from Sammi's post here for the Oh Alice! challenge. I loved how it looked and since I don't have an airbrushig system I thought my GMs would do the trick. I love how it turned out and may be using this technique more. Finally I colored some clear bling to match my fairy and painted some Shimmerz paint to her wings.

Challenges used:
SSD - anything goes
The Classroom - Glitz challenge for World Card Making Day
Paper Cutz - 3 patterned paper
Oh, Alice - use text in a nonsense way

My second card uses a Tiddly Inks image that is backed with Basic Grey's Eerie paper pad. I simple little card (4.25 x 4.25). I got the sketch from Lord Have Mercy and the color combo from ICopics challenge.

SSD The Princess and the Frog

Here's a little bonus Sassy Studio Desgin challenge. Lindsay is a HUGE Disney fan and wanted to do a fun little challenge for the release of Diseny's newest movie, The Princess and the Frog. It's a fun twist on this great fairy tale that's set in New Orleans, LA and will be open in limited release on November 25th (in NY and LA) and everywhere on December 11th. This means that this challenge will go through December 11th. Be sure you check out the SSD blog for all the details on the movie inspiration challenge. You must use a Sassy image somewhere on the project. If you don't have one then don't worry because you can go to the SSD blog and pick up a FREEBIE!

For my card I added lots of glitter to this as it reminded me of New Orleans during Mardi Gras, the pink because what's a princess without some pink, and the touch of green because you can't forget the frog. The lips are added because when you really think about it...it comes down to a KISS. The princess and the fog image of course is an SSD image.Won't you play along and show us your creation inspired by this movie and making sure you post it to the SSD blog.

Don't forget to post your project to the SSD blog.
Challenges used:
SSD: movie inspiration
Creative Card Crew: my favorite right now is digi images. I love playing with them and masking them is so easy for me.

Beauty's Kiss

Click on the banner for your inviation to SSD's Masquerade Ball on August 1, 2009. It'll be a day of fun.

As promised, here is another Disney tribute Princess card using the True Love's Kiss that will be released on August 1st. This one was a take on Beauty and the Beast after the Beast was turned back into a Prince. Again, I just 'had' to do some homework and watch the movie so that I knew what the Prince looked like (hee hee hee). Again, I kept it simple so the image could stand out. I love how digi images can be resized to fit whatever size card or project you want to do. Again, I used some Shimmerz (sunny) to give some sparkle to the bustle, sprayed Baby's Breathe Shimmerz Spray to the yellow cardstock, and used my shimmery white cardstock to give our princess some bling. I just love the romantic feel of this image.

I am working on my Cinderella project and hope to let ya'll see that one soon. Don't forget about the SSD's challenge #2 for a chance to win four images of your choice from the August 1st relase. If you go over there now, Lidnsey has even offered up a FREE image so that you can use that to play along (how great is that).

Also, make sure you join us on the big release day for a party :)

True Loves Kiss

I have another FABULOUS digi image by the talented Lindsey over at Sassy Studio Designs. This one is called True Love's Kiss and will be released on August 1st. As soon as I saw this image I imediantly thought of all of those princess Disney movies. Two of my most favorite fariytales are Cinderella (I'm still working on the project for that one) and Sleeping Beauty. I decided to make some cards as a tribute to the Disney princesses. The first one up is my own take on Sleeping Beauty. I used the pink dress as inspiration and for the prince I just 'had' to watch the movie (hee hee hee) to figure out how to color the prince. As you can see, I really need to work with my blues :( Overall, I am really happy with this card. I kept it fairly simple and used some ruffled ribbons to help give it a princess-y feel. I also used my shimmery white cardstock for the base and sprayed Baby's Breathe Shimmerz Spray over the pink cardstock. Also, what is a princess without a little bling? I painted some pink Shimmerz over the bustle of her dress. Lindsey will also have a sentiment bundle that will go with these wonderful sets as well. I used the 'Enchanting' one with this card - perfect for a wedding.

Be sure you check out Sassy Studio Designs' blog for their second challenge for a chance to win four images from the Fairytale August 1st release. If you go now, then you can pick up a FREEBIE (who doesn't love FREE).

We are also planning a party that day that you won't want to miss.
