Simple Christmas

A simple girl with a simple card for ya'll today. My want to create is being hurt by the lack of time I have. DH is getting ready for a long business trip so I am trying to spend more time with him. I have been doing so much extra stuff lately that for my post this week I wanted to scale things back some and just create some simple. Prima's paper selection is perfect for this as they work just as well alone as they do in an eleborate project. Add just a touch of some bling and the card gets a little dressed up. YMH has a great selection on paper and bling to fit whaterver your theme is too.

Enjoy your day and every moment, whether they are simple or eleborate :)

Prima CASE for YMH

I saw this card on PRIMA's blog and knew I had to CASE it as I just happened to have one of the clear doilies packaging on hand. I also had on hand several flowers and bling leftover from the Prima kits that I've gotten from YMH. The card was really easy and came together fast for me. The base is a turquoise color that I sponged white ink around the edges and then layered the clear packaging from Prima on top of it using some glossy accent for it. After that it was just a matter of playing with the flowers and bling. That's one thing I really love about the Prima kits, you get all kinds of great leftovers to use for other projects. After getting all of the flowers and bling glued down in place I decided to create a banner using a PTI dies and sentiment from PTI's Friends 'til the end stamp set chosing ink colors from the flowers (yellow and turquoise).

Challenges used:
Paper Cutz Challenge: make a card, LO, or project using a banner and any color or theme
Stamp Something: use a sentiment
PaperPlay Challenge: blossoms and blooms

Give me a K

for my first altered monogram letter. I chose to use the letter of my last name for this simple project. I like the simpleness of this, yet I do feel like it's missing something. The letter is covered with this subtle and pretty colored paper from Patterened Paper from Your Memories Here and then sponged along the edge with Distress Ink's antique linen and vintage photo. Next I went from a white flower to a Patina color flower by using some TA's Gimmer Mist to allow my sweet little Prima butterfly something land on and stand out to be seen at the same time. For my little trail for the butterfly I used some Prima bling. That's it. Simple yes, but I am learning how to make altered letters sing.

Your Memories Here DT Post

I hope ya'll have been enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday. At my house, we're only half done as we'll be celbrating again today and then on Sunday. That being said, this will be another quick post. I've got my first Prima Live class projects to show ya'll today. I've been wanting to do one of these for a while now and decided to jump right on in. This is the fabirc layout one from YMH as I've also been wanting to play with cavas. I am really impressed with all of the goodies that come with the kit as I could make another one and really only need to buy another canvas page. I followed along with the link that YMH listed on the store site and completed this page in under an hour. The only I still need to do is include a little journaling (all of my pages must have a little something written) but I need to get the right pen from my mom. The video was easy to follow and bonus was that I could pause and rewind it when needed. Now that I've done one I can change it up next time is I wanted too. Ya'll have to check out the Prima Live products from YMH as there are some great choices. In fact, I just ordered the Art Try Display kit as my next one :)

Where Dreams May Go

My dream has been prayed over and is tucked away awaiting the proper time to be set free. It is this dream that keeps me going some days. It is one that I wish I could share, but for now it must stay within my family.

Another speacial cause for my Your Memories Here post. I've been working chipping away at the daily challenges for SCS's Hope You Can Cling To month long cancer support fest and today I"ve got another card for those challenges. I used some Prima Paper from the Just Us collection that I distressed as well as some Prima bling and flower. I did lightly spray the flower with Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist (GM) to match everything a little better. The frame is from Tattered Angles framed fonts Tattered Traveler set and sprayed it with Tiger Lily, Dragonfly, and Iridescent Gold GM. The sentiment is from Verve's Blue Skies.
