Grey Scale Shrooms

AI is over for my district now and that means my summer can officially begin. Besides hanging with my family this also means I have more time to craft. Something I was trying to do each night as way to wind down. Oh how I have been itching to craft more and yet when the time comes all I seem to do is push paper around. To coax my mojo back I started simple and pulled out Clear and Simple's set Fun Fungi and some cardstock that I had embossed and laying around (I believe it's PTI's Soft Stone).

Then I got stuck. And it sat. For a week. Should I add color. Just go mono. I ended up going simple and clear embossed the row of mushrooms onto light grey c/s and taped it down and then I took a die from PTI's Mat Stack collection and created the window. the mushroom and sentiment were stamped in DI's Iced Spruce. Once I was sure it was dry I carefully took my lightest warm tone copics and added some "color" to the image. I really like how those 'shrooms turned out too. This just may be a card for my sweet Grammy since she loves painting and stamping all things nature.

Who do you go mush for?

I go mush around my DH still :) Clear & Simple Stamps has this fun stamp set called Fun Fungi that I just LOVE! I already shared one card I made with this set and here is my second card.

I watercolored the mushroom and stamped the sentiment in a nice brown color to mimic the ground. I can't wait to give this to my DH just because.

The state test for my subject I teach is now over and we have all survived. Now the waiting of two months for the results begins. To help pass the time we will be studying Shakespeare and then The Odyssey. We are on the downhill side of the mountain now and it feels good!

Love You Very Mush

My amazing DH not only had a 2nd degree black belt test this weekend but he also met up with our oldest who was on a boy scout camping trip with my brother. I am truly blessed to be married to him. While he was away I created this little card for him using my new stamps from Clear & Simple stamps. I have been eyeing the stamps from this company for some time and just now was able to order some. In that order I got Fun Fungi and couldn't wait to play with it. I ended up making two cards. This is the second card I created.

I stamped the mushroom image and sentiments (they are two different sentiments from this set) onto some watercolor paper. I have been really into my Inktense pencils as of late and thought they would be fun to try out here. I love the vibrant colors I can achieve from them. I sponged the edges with Distress Ink Vintage Photo, washed the color into the center with my watercolor brush and then sponged the edges again. Once everything was dry I took my white pen to add the dots to the tops of the 'shrums. I brought some of the great to the top in the form of a faux green ribbon. The layout is from CAS(E) this sketch.
